  1. Unless optioned otherwise, brakes on a BA Turbo are the same as the regular BA Falcon.
  2. If it is a loud clicking sound and not turning over, you may just have a dead battery
  3. Just booked the car in at Ford next week to have the timing cover seal done (plus all the associated stuff). I don't usually like going to the dealer but figured they would do plenty of them. My mechanic quoted 50% more and said he hadn't done one for quite a few years. While I reckon I could do it myself, a couple of days labour plus the risk I get it wrong and need to do it again is just time I don't have.
  4. Have you checked all of your fuses? Can you scan for fault codes? Does it try to turn over but doesn't start, or just not turn over at all?
  5. Also need to take compulsory leave at Christmas, plus more when my wife goes back to teaching before the kids start term 1 - so I think I'm pushing my luck enough as it is!
  6. Thanks mate! Just to clarify I'll definitely be there Friday to Sunday [emoji106]
  7. I had been hoping to do 4 days this year, but starting a new job with an overseas trip already booked means I'm in negative leave territory big time! Hopefully I'll come at least part way on the sunday then head home.
  8. I have been running almost your exact combo for about a year on my FG - those pads all round, T2 rotors on the front and Territory rears (I think I might just have put RDAs on for rear rotors - can't quite remember as they were left over from another car). I'm very happy with those pads - reasonably low dust and good stopping. Seem to take a decent amount of abuse through the twisties. As a comparison, I've found them much better than the QFM HPX I was using on my BA. That brake hose kit is the correct one - I confirmed that with Safebrake a few weeks ago when I was shopping. I ended up giving Matt at Race Brakes Sydney a call. He will assemble a kit himself for you using Goodridge lines. Was slightly over $300 delivered. Went with those thinking they might be better quality and RBS have always been very helpful. He will give you a good price on the pads too. Haven't fitted the lines yet - hoping to in the next couple of weeks. I might remove my calipers and paint them black too, while I've got the system open. Not sure about the shims - can't remember and don't have the cat in front of me. Matt would know if you are ringing him. Stopping power aside, the bigger rears look way better with the bigger rotor and caliper. Trimming the backing plate was a breeze - just touch it up with some paint to prevent corrosion.
  9. Ah you are coming from Canberra - there are two of us coming from there. Happy to throw a couple of jerry cans in my car if you run out of space. We tend to meet at Gold Creek on the Friday arvo to drive to Tumut.
  10. Just did some checking and can't find any in Tumut or Jindabyne. A bootful of jerry cans might be the only way. Edit: hadn't refreshed and seen Keith's post. Haha yep you'd almost need a support car with a trailer full of jerry cans!
  11. Loose hose clamp made me feel good! Well, relieved at least. Pulled out to overtake a truck yesterday. As the car hit full boost there was a bang from the front, a bang out the back and then a sudden loss of power. Was suspicious it was an intercooler hose, but you still feel a bit sick until you know! New Plaz throttle bottle elbow had blown off the throttle body. Instructions did say to re-check after a few heat cycles so I guess I should follow the instructions. I'm guessing the bang out the back was due to a sudden excess of fuel after the air quantity suddenly dropped. Truckie may have seen flames.
  12. In Thredbo for work. But really just scoping the area for next month [emoji106]
  13. I don't think so - just a couple of screws and wiring connectors to unplug from memory. It's probably all in the video, but just make sure you disconnect the battery a while beforehand to reduce the risk of deploying the airbag.
  14. Need to remove the airbag and then the steering wheel to get to the wiper/headlight/indicator switch assembly. Attached to the steering column. This photo isn't great (was just from when I was wrecking my BA) but gives you some ideas of how it looks once the wheel is off.
  15. Good on you for doing a bunch of quality work yourself!
  16. Good stuff! Glad your arm is coming good. I feel your pain. The turbo in my BA died a few days after I received my oil feed kit but hadn't fitted it yet. As a cheap way out for now, could you try and pick up a used 3576 off an FG? Always seems to be some for sale due to people upgrading. Would get you by for a while and you can sell it when you eventually upgrade. When I bought my FG and was wrecking the BA, I had planned to reuse the turbo from the BA in the FG. But a week with the baby FG turbo and I was hooked due to the responsiveness. Sure it isn't going to make the big numbers, but is fantastic day to day.
  17. Not too hard - can't remember exactly but got it out without any major hassles
  18. Haha reminds of 2017! Are you checking in? No, I'm sharing a room with a guy who has already checked in. What's his name? I don't know...
  19. Would be useful to know what the codes are - just cos you have lots doesn't mean everything is cooked. Sometimes minor issues cause lots of codes. Have you checked all of your other fuses? If they are cooked have a look for a car being wrecked of the same model. When I wrecked my previous car, I sold the BCM, PCM, ignition barrel, drivers door lock and keys as a set so they could just be transplanted into another car. Probably cheaper than buying individual PCM and BEM and then getting a tow to Ford.
  20. Good job - that what I need! I have to put some pavers down when I use my ramps, as the front bar hits the ramps before the wheels do.
  21. Fuel has probably evaporated over the 7 years since the last post! Good approach though if you need to open the fuel tank anyway and don't want to use the relay bridge method.
  22. As Keith said, depending on your state you should have some sort of statutory warranty - usually three months. I'd ring them because they should either tow it or authorise you to take it somewhere local for repair
  23. Need to flush my brake fluid and planning to paint the calipers black to make it look a bit tidier, so ordered some braided lines from Race Brakes Sydney. Am working through my pre-Snowies to do list!
