  1. It is pointless when people say they have run X kilowatts for y years or km. It is not like your car puts out that power all day, or even almost ever. Although granted in Arron's case it sounds like he drives his cars like a P plater in a Macca's carpark on Saturday night, so the claim might make more sense. I also reckon what the car is doing up to 4000 rpm or so timing/boost-wise is just as important to longevity as whatever the peak power is.
  2. Good bit of kit - fitted mine up on the weekend
  3. The rubber joiner on the factory elbow often splits and causes a boost leak. The metal elbow kit replaces that join with a silicone joiner.
  4. That's the cleaning post: https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/89678-photo-essay-cleaning-seat-belts/ What's the car? This is for FG, but looks to be genuine? Cheaper than the SRP ones on eBay. https://www.jeffersonfordparts.com.au/ford-front-retractable-seat-belt-assembly
  5. There's a thread on here somewhere about cleaning the belts properly to solve issues with then retracting properly. But yeah, there are some parts that are important enough to buy new.
  6. You can get a pre-purchase inspection from a mechanic for about $60 or so. I'd do that and explain the issues so they can diagnose and list on the report. If you do this before the stat warranty expires, you have something locked in from a qualified mechanic that describes the issues. That way you should have an easier time if Pickles are difficult to deal with or are trying minimise the issues to avoid rectifying. I did this the same thing with my car for piece of mind before the statutory warranty expired.
  7. Morning/afternoon - depending on whether you are in one of the slower states or not [emoji2957]
  8. I just did. Even with stock ICC even entry level after market speakers make a big difference.
  9. Awesome - good to hear guys. Looks like a cinch to install too.
  10. Just ordered one of these. I care more about the car than what the insurance is, so figured it was worth it. https://kap.industries/product/fire-extinguisher-bracket-ford-falcon/
  11. Good to see some activity but geez some random questions on here today.
  12. Should have gone semi synthetic. Jks Seriously though, that sucks you have to pull the motor again. Hope it turns out to be a simple fix and no other damage.
  13. Reminds of when I was playing squash with a mate and the grip on my racquet was getting worn. Swung at a big forehand, racquet slipped and hit him square in the balls. Trying to ask if he is ok while I'm pissing myself laughing
  14. Yeah my eyes aren't shocking. I got them at 25 and haven't worsened since. Optometrist said for some reason they are seeing a high rate of males of Caucasian background having a sudden drop in eyesight at 25, but then staying stable at that level until usual degenerative eyesight decline happens later in life. Not females and not other ethnic backgrounds, but they don't know why.
  15. This is great. And bonus points for describing the rear suspension properly rather than saying "coilovers all round bro"!
  16. I quite liked them when I tried them (used daily disposables like you BCB). But I don't know if it was the shape of my eye sockets or angle of eyelashes or what, but I never got the hang of getting them in. Out was fine, but in took me like 20 shots per eye. Maybe I should try again now that our bathroom isn't a dark, cramped sh!thole anymore. Might make it easier!
  17. Yeah it will - is more resistant to it though so you can increased the ignition timing values further before it starts to knock
  18. Yeah looks like you can log the DLP8 channels with PCMTEC, but also might be some maths to get it to output something useful. Would be worth it though so that if you hear something you can see exactly what was going on afterwards.
  19. I'm thinking of doing something similar and hooking up the USB data acquisition board I've installed for logging the wideband on PCMTEC. Have you got the knock detection hooked up for data logging?
  20. Haha nah it's not going anywhere. By chance a bunch of other deliveries turned up for stuff that annoying to cart home from the shops- bulk toilet paper, paper towel and tissues from Who Gives A Crap and a 12kg bag if dog food. Neighbours will think I'm a doomsday hoarder. @JETURBO in my defence, it did actually work [emoji1787] Wasn't super pretty though and needed some car when putting it in the tank.
  21. There's me sorted for the next 50,000 km. Need to ring GW on Monday and order another cuppla drums of oil.
  22. My bad! When I had a look I couldn't find it but there you go Edit: far out, you factor in the cost of buying the controller and the tune, and compare that to a custom dyno tune with PCMTEC which doesn't require you to purchase hardware...
  23. Yeah good choice on the corrugated line. Most people cut the submersible hose to the exact size to keep the height right which is a bit of a muck around. I did it in a loop like Mickey Mouse ears the first time, but in my current car used the corrugated stuff.
  24. I don't think Pingtune does the mail order flash anymore so probably wasnt them. Probably didn't need a question mark. I'm Ron Burgundy?
