My Invos are almost toast so I'm in the market for something new for my FG. Didn't mind the Invos - got 25k out of them but found them a bit average in the wet. Car is still a daily for now, with the cruise etc so want so want something grippy but not that will shred too quickly. Pricing on Invos at the moment mean it is worth looking at other options. About $220 compared to $180 last time. Other tyres on my short list are: Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetric - heard good think about these, are about $290. Haven't seen much on this site about them though. Bridgestone RE003 - about $250. Guy at the local Bridgestone reckons he has them on his modded FG and they grip well and he gets 40k out if them. Have seen elsewhere they wear pretty quick. Anyone with any recent thoughts or experiences on any of these? I reckon I'm leaning slightly towards giving the RE003s. Might be the last set of daily tyres I get for it as considering buying another car for the commute in the next year or so, in which case I'd probably get PilotSport 4S next time and save them for he twisties.

https://www.ultimatepowersteering.com.au/ford-falcon-fg-series-2-fg-x-12-11-2-17-6-cylinder-new-high-pressure-hose-assembly/ Try these guys - looks like they list a separate Fg2/Fgx line to the FG line. Haven't tried one on my FG, but the one I got from them for the old BA had a different design so you could replace just the o-ring for future leaks. So buy the new hose once and then in future just swap the o-ring. Looks like about half the price of what you have been quoted.

Lift your game Keef. Yeah, just go to an exhaust shop and ask for a straight through muffler that fits and will be reasonably quiet. Probably better than a half rusted stock one from 2006 anyway.

Haha yep - my dad was a shocker for it. Slashed his wrist on a drill, wrapped it in an oily rag, came inside with his hand behind his back and told mum he was going for a drive

At the doc's after (slightly) cutting my leg in the garage. Me: "It's really not that bad but my wife made me come here " Doc: "That definitely needs stitches" Haha I wonder how many times a week they hear that line.

Just did a few days away camping. Impact driver and screw in tent pegs are my absolute best friends.

Yep that's the last time I scroll through the forum while eating breakfast!

Combined States Snowy Cruise - November 2021

I can't do that weekend unfortunately due to another regular camping trip we do with a group. Keen for a cruise sometime - has been ages now! -
255 is fine - the stock fuel pressure reg can handle that no worries mate. Even those other mods won't make much difference - they will give you more capacity to make power when it is tuned, but won't create problems before your tune (as opposed to other mods like injectors or significant exhaust changes). Installing a bigger intercooler is a bit like driving in winter vs summer - you air temps will be lower but well within the range your PCM and sensors and designed to adjust for anyway.

That's awful - hope the little guy is on the mend

Haha you'd be stinking out of both exit holes after that vegetable combo!

Merry Christmas everyone! Full of pork, turkey and pudding now so time for a Cooper's Sparkling and a nap.

Thanks mate. Actually I was in someone's kitchen the other day that was a good quality build and had gloss white. Kitchen was over 25 years old but you could have thrown in new benchtops and appliances and thought it was brand new. -

Kitchen and floors all done. Laying floors was a bigger job than I thought it would be, but well worth it. Painted the kitchen and laundry last night but can only see that in the shot of the cedar window. Managed to colour code the kitchen to the cat... -
I've got the wired version of one of these: http://www.ultra-gauge.com/ultragauge/ Will read anything the ECU sees. Has a bunch of standard options plus you can code in vehicle specific stuff. Can flick between screens too so you can have different gauges for different situations. Have got trabns temp showing on it. Engine temp keeps switching between actual temp and -40 degrees. There is an easy fix I just need to be bothered doing it

Should reward everyone's good work to get things under control by allowing a three day road rule amnesty and so you can all blow off some steam. Have it as a two hour window each day so anyone who doesn't like it can keep off the roads [emoji16]

Same here - I've got lots of painting and floor laying to finish before Christmas. But March could be good!

Haha I DIY tune for a reason [emoji16] There's definitely some better choices in Sydney As well as injectors, dump, cat and pump I've got the following, driveline-wise: -Antz battery relocation and turbo side intake (not needed for power, but sounds great and makes so many maintenance tasks easier by not having the crossover -Golebys turbo oil feed line (comes with Turbosmart filter) - lots of people say these aren't needed in an FG but I went for piece of mind -Heat exchanger for auto - this is a must for the ZF regardless of whether or not you add power -GFB fuel.oressure reg (not needed, but I wanted the gauge and needed a new reg) 255lph pump will be heaps and won't need a wiring upgrade, new fuel reg or return line modification. If you go bigger for that power target you just create more headaches
-
What Keith said. I'd do cat and dump only, injectors, pump for safety and a tune. You can always add the cooler later. That's where my FG started. Factory catback is already straight through and sufficiently sized to handle anything the stock turbo will breath into it. I'd get a couple of opinions too as the Barra scene here in Canberra isn't great (in my view) and I had a couple of tuners try to sell me parts I didn't need or tell me stuff that I knew wasn't right.

Laid the bamboo floor in the dining, kitchen and laundry on Saturday. Stopped there as I figured I should wait until the kitchen work is finished to reduce the risk of damage in the hallway. Plus once everything is back in the kitchen I'll have more space in the house to shuffle furniture to lay the lounge and kids rooms. -
Interesting - I feel like that knowledge is going to get me out of trouble one day!

Looks a bit different now. Kicks go down tomorrow morning for the cabinets and then I lay the bamboo floor over the weekend. Doing most of the house with it, so will see how far I get! -

Wow that window is nice. Kitchen and laundry came out today. Bye bye asbestos!
