  1. Got into this thread a bit late, but ive run the triple carbon in the AU and in the end while not a bad street clutch that will take a lot of power found it too angry on drivelines, especially when hot it will get very grabby and start killing driveline bits... I lost two T-56's to this clutch (both the older synchro design) since I went 9" diff and the PPG dogbox no issue but its not that nice to race with. I went to a Spec stage 5 (sintered iron disc) a couple of years ago and never looked back, rated to 1000lbft it will be good in a turbo 6 to about 550rwkw id say and is great to drive daily and perfect at the track as you can slip it a bit. I have done 12,000kms on it so far and about 20-30 6000rpm sidestep launches on slicks with the twinscrew at about 550rwkw.,,, the triple carbon was retired to the Twin Turbo (until recently I went back to the ZF) and was great in there because it didnt see the strip as a manual... good for the dyno will take a lot of torque! Daniel
  2. Actually the new K-Mac ones look like an almost exact copy of mine. I am almost out of the last batch but will probably get another 10 sets made next month if the interest leves are still there. Ive made 60 sets now with one running change about halfway through and never had a set come back after they were installed. I dont have vibration whine/NVH in mine but there is a small amount of backlash noise there compared to stock. My Twin Turbo runs the earlier style I made and has done 20,000kms with the stock halfshafts still in there to this day, done 13,000kms as a ZF auto car and 7,000 as a TR6060 manual car, all with upwards of 500rwkw daily driven (is 600rwkw at the moment on 98 with the 5.0L) George I have one new set and that set we spoke about last month available, I will call you when I get home to run through which way we should go with that... need to take another look at that early set and check the OD and measure them up. Daniel
  3. Happy Birthday CAT600!

  4. Cheers and great time from your ute, was good to meet you as well, Simon has mentioned your car a few times but I had the two blue utes mixed up in my head.... Just need a Ford vs Expensive Daewoo track day organised Between Simon and Eddy and we'll be set! Daniel
  5. It has Dean, but I was going for a 9..... it was not to be with the changes I made to the rear end (different springs), My thoughts were that going from a 3.25:1 ratio at Heathcote to a 4.11 here would need more tyre, but with the rear end bouncing the wider rubber I ran (10.5", up from a 9" tyre) was ineffective. Next time out I'll run the old springs (lower and harder) with both tyres and see what happens For those that dont know the car: 5.0L Modular 4 Valve 2.8H LC Kenne Bell E85 fuel T56 with PPG heavy duty gearset Final Drive 9" 4.11 ratio 10.5 x 28.0" tyre (still spins them hahah) 4,240 lb with driver as raced VIDEO'S: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=437346066278095 https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=437270952952273 Car actually ran the exact same time twice... 10.111 @ 140.62! Daniel
  6. Happy Birthday CAT600!

  7. Cheers Simon. For those that dont know the car, its an AU TS50, Kenne Bell supercharged 5.0L Modular engine, T-56 manual trans with PPG dogbox and a 35 spline 9" rear end. Car is daily driven on BP98 but ran E85 for the meet making over 700 wheel horsepower. 60'....1.64 660'... 6.59 @ 110.78 1/4..... 10.11 @ 140.23 Car was awesome pulling 10.30-10.50 In Friday testing then grabbed this time with the first pass on Saturday morning in better track conditions... Came around to run my 9 and it slipped the clutch all through first and proceeded to weld the metal clutch solid... Weekend over. There is a stack of potential left in the car as it runs a tall 28 x 9" tyre and 3.25 rear ratio meaning it was crossing the line in 3rd gear at 7000rpm... Going to build a 3.9 rear centre and use 4th gear which will see the 60' times drop into the 1.5's and the 9 second pass will be there for the taking. http://i818.photobucket.com/albums/zz106/FTE056/P1020930.jpg http://i818.photobucket.com/albums/zz106/FTE056/P1020952.jpg http://i818.photobucket.com/albums/zz106/FTE056/P1020913.jpg http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn183/janellewhittle/IMG_1085.jpg
  8. I broke the older (softer) style shaft with 538rwkw on pump fuel. When I had the box out repairing it I got Dominello's to do a highstall on the converter. Since then the car has done 10,000kms and I havent broken another one even with over 600rwkw and 1000+rwnm torque... but I did break something further back in the box just last week as the car had no 4th/5th/6th... its out again getting repaired. Daniel
  9. No worries... Outside: Underneath/Exhaust... this has changed since the 9" went in (The twin 4" goes over the diff not under it now): Engine Bay: Fuel System (the fuel tank is not shown but its a 118L alloy custom one, the surge is 12L and the two Holley Gerotor pumps flow as much as the Aeromotive): Dynosheet: PPG Dog Box and internals: Video of the Dogbox in action... a bit tame but you get the idea... Fast forward towards the last 1/4 of the vid and there is some good tail action where the camera is strapped to the boot: 9" with 35 spline axles, full spool and alloy centre: Daniel
  10. Thanks mate, I just love doing stuff that's a bit off the radar.... things you dont see every day. I really dont know where we will end up with the ZF... you would have to think that with all the big hp F6's out there driving it, stronger internals will start flowing through once the Trans edit software fixes the shift times etc. Daniel
  11. Sure, some photos and a couple of dyno vids here: Brakes: Outside: Engine bay: Fuel system: Daniel
  12. Yeah we broke it after 400kms (input shaft) but since we put the upgraded shaft in there it did 10,000kms trouble free running around with 538rwkw on pump fuel... the only thing that was an issue the whole time was the trans going into fault mode du to input speed too high (trying to rev past 7000 it would occasionally throw a code). Once the trans is rebuilt and we confirm the demise of that common clutch from 4th-6th, I just wont run it in 4th with that power level, instead I'll go for a 28" tall drag tyre and run it out the back door in the top of third..... will be interesting to see how it holds up. Daniel
  13. We have some guideposts. It survived WOT 1000rwnm/613rwkw tune It didnt survive 1030rwnm/670rwkw tune It was fine with the power rolled on in 3rd (until it blazed the tyres @ 5000rpm that is) but I WOT loaded it in 4th and something let go under full traction... no 4th/5th/6th now so I'm guessing its the common B clutch. I dont think the car would shift gears with that kind of power if you have full traction, but it will hold that power once engaged... I plan on testing the car with 16 psi/800rwnm/500rwkw in 1st/2nd then once I shortshift 3rd manually I'll up the boost to 27psi/1030rwnm/670rwkw and hold on for the 400m marker. Want to try and run it in the next month or so.... if not it will be in June at the AFF nationals. Daniel
  14. Yeah, I already got a pair of 345/30/19 NT05R's (bought in from the states last year) sittin in the shed on 11.5" rims..... need to pump the guards before they'll fit on the AU though. Daniel
  15. I can get the R888 295/30/19's out of the east for about 700 inclusive of GST plus freight... I reckon they are parallel imports. Having said that I have seen them advertised in the US for A LOT less than that, the fella wont ship to AUS direct but I'm currently trying to get him to ship via a US address. If these come off I'll be looking between 500 and 600 AUD landed. Keep you in mind. Daniel
  16. R888's will get you between 5 and 7,000kms yes, but the grip level stays consistant that whole time where an AD08 or even an R1R will markedly drop off after 50% life. As an example my AU has had the 295/30/19 R888's on there for just over 5,000kms now and has almost 2mm usable left on them (2.9mm tread total) So I'm banking on between 7 and 8 thousand clicks. That car has never seen less than 503rwkw and up to 588rwkw and has run some passes at the drags and many dyno runs on them (R888+Dyno roller serations = hurts) Over to R1R, an awesome tyre, I removed them at 9800kms with 1.9mm left on them (total) but the R1R tread pattern starts to appear bald in the centre section at this point. This is on the twin turbo FG with between 430 and 540 rwkw. After 6,000kms the R1R's lost 15-20% grip and after ~8500kms another 10% I reckon..... I fitted new ones and the car would stick 430 rwkw all the time (including the 1-2 shift on the built ZF) and 500rwkw once in second gear. To give you an idea on more power, with 25 psi Methanol tune @ 613rwkw the FG would wheelspin at 150 in 3rd and major blacktrak at 180+ in 4th..... scaryness that an R888 never passes on. AD08's I havent bothered owning (I am a Toyo man) but after seeing Ramons dismal review I would stick to either R888 or R1R depending on size an fitment options. As far as cost goes, we do get stung on R888 prices here in AUS but I'm looking into some parallel import options ATM. In summary, R888's are the ultimate street legal rubber bar none (Now that RA1's are no more locally) while R1R is an awesome compromise with price in mind. Daniel

  18. I dont think Kael is specifically accusing anyone, the way his post reads to me is "Reminds me of the time those pieces of sh*t ...." so that's not an accusation but remembering back to when that carry on occurred. So who is it Tocchi, who wrote that crap that got deleted?...... Name and shame I say. Nang's onto it, sheer jealousy. Daniel

    Xft'S Fg F6

Your work.... you are at Apache yeah? If so, that's one hell of a Mechanic you got there (Damien)..... best I've ever seen. That's my pair of cars (AU and FG). The AU makes 788rwhp while the FG is still on 98 octane pump fel and makes 720rwhp at the moment. They are both getting jobs finalised on them for some upcoming drag days here and in Melbourne.... hoping for low 10's out of both of them (or a high 9 if I can). This F6...... this thing here? Man its sheer scary at the moment.... 1200rwnm is crazy bullsh*t torque! Daniel
  20. It's funny how some cars have big power and feel scary on the road, and some feel fine. I have been lucky enough with two such cars than drive smooth at 700+rwhp, one Blown and one Turbo, whether auto or manual they both drive sweet with road legal rubber. Having said that, this ute has another 120rwkw more than my AU and with such savage ramp on of power in the top end, I can see it being a handful. Drive safe man. Daniel
  21. Have you got a dyno sheet with power and torque you can scan and post up?..... I'd be interested to see the rwnm/tractive effort of that run! What model of eboost you running? I though they were 40psi or 60psi rated not 35psi...... curious because I got a 40psi model and hope that I dont run out of control at 35psi. EDIT... Oh crap I forgot to say, well done Daniel
  22. Street tyres and 100% street trim? That's going to need some ground rules set. Semi-slicks allowable, standard type shocks (not 90/10's etc), all sway bars in place and full street weight needs to be mandatory. How much fuel you run, spare and jack out of the boot and how you run the pass is up to you. Does that sound fair? My knowledge from this thread is this: 1) 10.92 @ xxxmph, x.xx 60': Mauz ran this on RA1's in his 6 speed auto BF Typhoon 2) 10.9x @ 137mph, 2.08 60': (I can dig out the exact timeslip tonight) on R888's in my 6 speed manual AU TS50 3) 11.15 @ 125mph, 1.79 60': John from Tunehouse on 19" Maxxis 4) .....
  23. Exactly why I keep running with the 18" ET Street's..... you can keep your Brembos on...... pulling up from 220km/h in a relatively short distance is something to be mindful of..... I know I've had whiteline fever and grabbed 5th after I passed the 1320' marker Daniel
