  1. It is actually used to reset the VCT phasers and also to clear a flooded engine. If there is some dirt or obstruction in the oil feed to the cam phasers, the cam(s) can be put out of relative position and as a result the engine can flood. Holding the accelerator to the floor and cranking does two things, 1) The PCM attempts to reset the cams back to a base or known position; and 2) It also clears out any excess fuel in the combustion chamber. EDIT** I just saw Eugene actually wrote something similar - oops
  2. Haha you love those sarcastic comments dont you Luke! LOL Im sure some of the n00bs might take what you are saying seriously.

  4. Hi all, If I remember correctly "Phoon" was talking about making a 3 gauge pod... I could be wrong, but does anyone have an idea as to what the current status of this is? Cheers, Ross
  5. Turn the car to the 'On' postiion. Then remove battery leads. Goes against everything, but, it's how it's done.. ← You need to turn the car to on and then between 1 and 3 seconds, remove the negative lead.
  6. Jim Beam?
  7. No, it didn't get rid of the clunk totally, but it certainly reduced it.
  8. Sounds good Steve. I will be there, and most likely will cruise back North with you also.

    Bloody Break In

Hey... So sorry to hear the news man.... I hope it gets sorted out quickly... Damn useless carnts are just a waste of oxygen.
  10. Here is a pic I took at Nuford on Sat morn with my mobile phone... It is a Fairmont Ghia. Can I be the first to say that I thought it looked AWESOME in the flesh. (Unlike Ford's press photos!) Even the new rims on the Ghia set the car right off... Unfortunately I didn't take a pic of the rims.... Cheers, Ross
  11. I had the same problem... Ford helicoiled the stripped thread and fitted high tensile bolt with a strong spring washer. What happens is that the bolt comes loose over time - due to this looseness, the bolt is able to move slighty every time you accel/decel. For this reason the thread gets stripped. The fix is as I stated above. Cheers, Ross
  12. Hi Al / everyone, unfortunatley I am one of those people who wont be able to make it... I have a heap of work to catch up on over the weekend... :( Please let us know the outcome of the meeting though!

  14. Damn you boys.. I live up in the northern suburbs of Perth too but I am yet to see Muzza's octane F6!! It seems like you guys see it every second day!! Cheers, Ross
  15. Yes the Falcons (BA on) utilise the CAN protocol. Cheers, Ross
  16. Spotted Allan yesterday on Reid Hwy on the short bit of road right in between the Freeway North and Freeway South on-ramps. I know I said it before... but damn those quad exhausts look good... Cheers, Ross

Just a quick note, Some things that are braodcast live (I.e. Fox Footy, are encoded in really poor resoloution. You typically find this with live feeds. Cheers, Ross
  19. Wow guys! I just saw all the pics and videos! Looks like I missed out on an awesome cruise courtesy of work!! Allan, your car looks very very nicely done! Quad exhausts look damn good.... ride height is perfect, wicked rims too! (not to mention that Nizpro kit equipped engine!!) I will have to check it out properly on the next cruise! Adrian6T, thanks for putting up the videos... Cheers, Ross
  20. Well I got the news I was hoping I wouldn't have to deal with... I wont be WA on the weekend of the cruise... damn work....

  23. Cro... just curious, have you driven on all those tyres in order to make that evaluation? Cheers, Ross
  24. I have the Yoko Advan Sport V103s and they are a HELL of a lot quieter than the SP9000s that I replaced! They are still not "super quiet", but they are a hell of a lot better! On a scale of 1-10, if the SP9000s are a 10, the V103's are around a 6.5-7 depending on road surface. Cheers, Ross
