  1. In the past BP 98 was a fixed price above standard unleaded. In the beginining in the 90s it was set 6 or 8 cents above standard unleaded. Slowly that number has crept up. However now it is not a fixed price above. It seems to be set at any price BP wants it. On the low price cycle (Wednesday for BP in Perth0 I paid 155.9 for BP98 when advertised billboard unleaded is 126.9. A 30c price different. A bit of a rip off. I think this policy of "fixed price above" changed about a year ago. BP Customer Service does not want to talk about pricing. Does anybody know much more about this. I feel like going back to E85, as much as I don't like the stuff.
  2. If you can find a billet one like these you will probably be fine with what you have http://www.extremeaxlesales.com/44heavydutyctmu-joint.aspx
  3. Have you thought about using a base pressure of 40psi. Are you still using base of 60psi. What are your fueling requirement calculations. Also what about your supply side. Stock or 3/8. I dont know how the kpm unit is done but can their outlet be changed to a 3/8 fitting. Sometimes some small changes will get you where you need to be.
  4. I would shoot an email off to the manufacturer or even call them. They know what it can do and whether they will warranty it. I remember my unit quoting the continuous amps and max amps for short periods. I reckon continuous will be too hard on the unit but you will be able to do it switched on at boost. Also with the fuel setup you need to do further testing with fuel output at alternator voltage at revs and with the voltage booster at various volts to see if you really need all that fuel or whether the fuel increase at extra volts is really worth it. It was said somewhere that these walbro 460 pumps don't seem to benefit from extra volts. I reckon they are probably a 4 pole motor in there judging by the current they draw and there must be high dimishing returns with extra voltage. As I said before, it will test your wires/relays and fuses so be careful as drawing around 40 amps continuous is quite a bit in my books and can burn up a car very easily if not done carefully.
  5. that's fine. Study is a good reason. Women and schit test go hand in hand so I thought maybe it was a female getting you to sell your pride and joy. The context was not clear. It makes me cringe when a man allows that to happen. I bought my modified FG off such a man or should I say mouse.
  6. When you say "schittest", you mean the partner/wife is making you do it???
  7. Apparently it should have been called Mad Maxine according to reviews. Its a very Feminist movie that spoils it a bit.
  8. You started it Luke
  9. Which hole did you put that in.
  10. You know that there are TWO holes.
  11. I can see the hole in the picture. Pretty small, I reckon about the size of Jets -ock.
  12. Its good to go into a man cave and have man talk. I quite enjoy it.
  13. What did you do on the head gasket sealing side. Looks like you used some white sealant.
  14. I'm in, wifes birthday next sat
  15. At all cost engine and box in one if possible. Done it dozens of times but never on an BA-FG. I have a winder bar on the hoist that allows me to get the tilt on the engine and box and also to level it. You can buy cheap chinese ones and I did try one but they are flimsy and would not recommend them. I built my own. But then you got to set it up on the hoist so that on full tilt you have enough verticle chain so the front top of the engine does not foul the arm on the hoist. (does that make sense) and that you dont have too much chain that you cant get the engine high enough over the front of the car. Try to set it up first with the chains where they should be than just hope for the best. When the engine is tilted I usually set it up so I need to lift the end of the box into the engine bay a little. Then you decided how much you got to lift the rear and sometimes even the front. I guess a pit would help.
  16. one heck of a weapon. where is the front shot of bumper
  17. so where did this harmonic balancer break. Was it the cast iron hub?
  18. Any prices on this stuff
  19. I've got a slight vibration at around 90 to 100kph in my FG. Its driveshaft related and gets worse when the car is loaded up. With just me in it I don't feel it. WIth a few fat babes in the back seat you notice it.
  20. My machinist did around the 2.5 to 3 thou on both mains and bigends also.
  21. Bendix Ultimates. They are very aggressive on the disc but they are constantly skimming the disc and keeping them straight (true) so they don't shudder with normal street driving. Where as the Ferodo DS are slightly aggressive, not enough to keep them true like the Ultimates. The shudder came on before 10k km From my experience, cast iron vented hat discs just naturally moves around a bit. And you need that aggressive pad to keep them true. There are a few car manufacturers that do the same. Look at the disc of wheels covered in black brake dust on some relatively new european cars. They are chewed out. The disc is a consumable IMO. Two sets of pads to one set of discs. I just put up with the dust. This is the downside.
  22. That is why it is really important to examine the main bearings when a used engine is being disassembled. If you think its the extra torque on the studs assemble it with stock bolts and torque and see if there is a diff. It may close it up a bit but not that much. How about assembling it without that crank girdle, it could be out of whack, holes not where they should be. Nevertheless even with line boring I think your clearances are too tight. My engine machinist will put the bearings and caps in the block to measure off when grinding the crank. He will do them what he considers loose as you will never lose an engine with loose clearances but you will with tight. I also have bolting surfaces of the tops of the main caps machined to make sure they are of the same height so the girdle sits nicely and does not twist the block/caps.
  23. I put on Ferodo DS and brand new T3.. Didn't take too long to start to shudder. No bite also. Pulled them out and put in Ultimates. I like them so much better. DS cause a bit of brown dust (still have them in the rear). Nothing like the black of the ultimates though. The Ultimates being much more aggressive on the disc did "true it out" after about 10k
  24. This Is What Crazy Looks Like Via Text Messaging This is why you never promise crazy a second date. Apparently these texts came after just one night out, and dear lord, you must admire (wait, no I meant back away slowly without making direct eye contact) that sort of persistence. http://www.facebook.com/BuzzFeed'>
