  1. Not coil packs IMO. Seems like you got an exhaust leak there and number six exhaust valve clearance is a bit high. You would need to put a data logger on to see what is happening a bit better. I'd fix the leak first (if there is one, a bit hard to hear) . Then you would want to see o2 sensor function and how well it trims at idle.
  2. What torque are you running on your head studs. What brand head studs. Plus forgot what head gasket you are using. I know you did those fire rings and the 3 bond. Also whilst got ya, what trans fluid r u running. Still Gulf Western?
  3. either one of us, both of us or what ever. Usually it will stick out like a sore thumb, but not always.
  4. City Beach. Could be a bad 02 sensor, could be thermostat. If you had Hp Tuner, you could hook it up and observe both on the data logger to see if they are where they are meant to be.
  5. Come over, lets pull the tune and see what has been done. It is usually hard to determine fuel economy by numbers however based on what you have said it does seem to be using too much. The engine should operate on closed loop control so it should deliver OK economy regardless. However they could have butched things that kill economy. Is it still stalling?. I assume you are using bp98
  6. It was quick but 3.08 rear gears would just take out 3rd gear on the supra 5 sp. So then I went to 3.55 to save the box and it just does not load up the same in 1st and 2nd. I wish I went trimatic back in the day but back then they were known as a problem box but then one guy started modifying them and moded they turned out OK.
  7. 1200cc!! Bikes scare me, my balls wouldn't be happy on that seat. I still got the torana but needs a bit of work to brakes body and trim. Its a Lx sedan with a reliable 500+rwhp turbo blue motor with yella terra alloy head. In 1995 I had 300rwhp with a draw thru T04 setup to late 90s with programable fuel injection, intercooler around the 500rwhp. They were the good old days cause you could blow everyone considering 500atw in a 1250kg car. Back then a bosch 044 was $550 and tuning info hard to come by.
  8. Woman drivers usually cause these sorts of scrapes. I would be looking at every car around there that matches the colour, then start looking at bumpers and measure heights. If you find a suspect, I don't mind coming around to double check the forensics.
  9. Heated seats would come handy when I cruise around Northbridge on cold winters night naked.
  10. I saw the humor in it stripes. They should put in a new turbo. Have you checked the turbo oil screen. Something is not right for the blades to hit the housing.
  11. Yep, the scoring is pretty deep, its no giggling matter stripes
  12. Is that how you do it. I just get the biggest hammer and smash it like you do a ball joint. Spraying a french product called Reducteur H 72 Super Releasing Agent helps with those sorts of job. That stuff has released many rusted parts. Last time bought from Bunnings, dont know if they still have it.
  13. Peppy , is there a chance of you doing a trans tuning tutorial outlining what tables you changed and why?. Even along with a copy of your tune would be good but a tutorial would help most. A quote from a Nizpro article. " We calibrate the TCU for extra apply and clutch holding pressures, shorten full throttle up shift times whilst adjusting torque reduction strategies"
  14. That was a crap gasket and they always fail with turbos. Use the genuine metal gasket.
  15. I have had Ford E series map sensors play up a couple of times. They can even go out by a little. Had me scratching my head for a while. The insides of the e series Map sensor is pretty delicate. I would suspect that newer map sensors are much the same. If you suspect it just buy another one and replace it. Sometimes parts replacement is easiest to get to the bottom of a problem. BTW I responded to the original post. Tocchi, seems like if you have done a conversion maybe not sensor fault.
  16. So which diff centre is " better" , true-trac or wavetrac
  17. I had contact with a place that rebuilds ZFs and he said they reuse them. He may have been crapping on cause I thought there were issues with them after milkshake. I would say if you get to the box quickly that there might be a chance. A box sitting around with water in the oil, dunno.
  18. Get HP tuners and you can adjust it yourself. I would stick the 82 deg one in, 71 degree one a bit extreme. As previous poster said the stock fan it set to switch on 98 degrees and a bit hot for my liking. But as you found out to use a cooler thermostat you need to go thru the tune to account for it. On my next coolant change I will be going setting the tune up for 82 degree thermostat.
  19. Some more info http://fuelab.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/Fuelab2015_GAS_Catalog.pdf
  20. They use them in the Veyron and there is an intank and exteranl Version with a bracket. I saw around $US800 but still worth it. They are made in the UK I think. The internall version also needs a controller. But brushless anything seems to be the way to go.
  21. http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/oncirrus/3/file/0123456789/9876543210/lxmWLbc0ik.pdf These look like a good pump for E85. There are other version but looks pricey
  22. There is alot of miscommunication going on here. Its a bit hard to explain in writing so lets all go down to the strip club and talk about it.
  23. Gun808. What you have done is fine. You took out the return restriction in the fuel pump cradle and you lowered the pressure so that the pump flows more. If you dont take out the restriction you cant lower pump pressure. Basically when injectors and/or pump are at their limit of the power target, you can play with the pressures to get to where you want. Sure lowering the pressure will give you more pump and less injector but its a balancing act to get you the max power with what you have.
