  1. Jet, what about a deal on a hooker over the weekend?, I already got da shocks direct.
  2. Thanks Phil for hosting again, A great mancave and really good to have a get together and yarn with car guys.
  3. I think it could be related to how ford tune the vehicle to pass emissions. Mine has done it and a good tuner can tune it out. This may not make sense to you but once I got my hi slope value of the injector where I wanted it in the tune, no more sh*t starts.( I touched some other tables but not much) The ECU will use the hi slope on start up. You can also play with the cold start parameters in the tune but I didn't. I am in reverse as soon as my finger is off the key and off I go (this is in the coldest perth winter mornings). Maybe Jet can explain his magic potion. Go buy HP tuners (tuning software for this vehicle) and you might get somewhere .
  4. I haven't defected, still an aussie car bloke, just came to the reality many moons ago that whilst we can get pretty impressive numbers on the track with our straight 6 and ZF, that you can't really compete against something with 4wd and a dual clutch gearboxe on the street from a standing start. But once past 2nd gear my G6et will blitz the stock R35 though.
  5. Ok, if doing a demo launch in the GTR is gonna get me laid by a hot babe, I will do it. Otherwise I will wait for that day.
  6. Sorry, never used and will never use launch control on this thing. I do have mechanical sympathy. Just a normal standing start is pretty good though. It just gets up and goes. No smoke like in the g6et.
  7. Yeh, can take , u will then understand why I want 4wd
  8. gonna try to pass thru. Will be bringing my 4wd.
  9. A compression test and a leakdown test. Have you checked engine block serial numbers. You could have a high compression Normally aspirated engine put in there.
  10. That is pretty much what happened to the guy who I bought my G6et from. He took it back to X a few times and he simply could not solve the stalling/hunting.He got sick of it and sold off the problem to me. No one is perfect but if the workshop refuses to fix /acknowledge the problems he caused then people need to stay away. I bought Hp tuners and eventually the problem was solved but not without alot of wasted time. In saying that the car drives beautifully now with my tune and I really enjoy it. I also have a R35 GTR but always enjoy swapping back to the G6et. The falcon turbo is a really good car when sorted.
  11. One CANNOT/does not want to fix the FG stalling issue he caused (starts with X, ends in T), the others seem like nice guys from what I hear (Starts with M ends in E).
  12. Why did I say that. My first 044 use was around 1997. Used them in a few cars. They just suffer in the heat. I can get them to run quite normal (quiet) in winter, but come summer they whine like a b-tch when used externally in a poor fuel supply setup. It is all heat related, just an old annoying pump that should not be used anymore. Back in the day it was all we had and my first one cost $550 from memory. (alot in those days). Many other better options now.
  13. a 044 pump + Darwin does not work. Go for something else
  14. Just had a play with the latest Hp Tuners scanner and editor. Wow. We can now datalog spark advance and retard (knock retard) in graph form. I.e Rpm vs Kpa. This allows you to pin point exactly where to adjust timing. Heaps of new stuff in the Editor I noticed. High boost not a problem with map sensor calibration, more boost control tables, looks like they have sorted turning off traction control permanently. You are not doing yourself any favours using SCT. Find a tuner who uses HP Tuner and is happy to leave the tune unlocked so it leaves your tuning options open. Locking tunes is no longer the way to go, it is selfish, costly to the customer and hides poor tuning. If you are a good tuner you will let others see your work, not hide it. Just buy it, you wont regret just being able to change small things in the tune and being able to pull fault codes.
  15. Don't want to go off topic. Its a 09 with FSH, easy life. I think gonna leave stock. Keeping the G6et cause need 4dr but for the moment GTR daily driver, the boot is useful, even the back seats are usefull. Tyres can be noisy though at low speeds but above 100kph fine. I don't think I will ever go back to 2wd. I considered doing what Grego did with the Teritory but a modified turbo territory does not pull chicks like a Stock GTR.
  16. Yeh, got the GTR nearly a month now. Only driven the G6et once since I got it so I put the battery charger on it cause not gonna be driven much now. Got it cause 4wd, 3.x sec 0 to 100 and when you get old you don't want to worry if your rear tyres are warm enough to grip at 100kph
  17. Wow, great news. Its worth buying HP just to get rid of the zf taking off in 2nd gear.
  18. Can't wait to see this go. There will always be teething problems. I got myself a R35 for the 4wd. Worth its weight in gold when launching.
  19. You don't run both into the same can. Keep the PCV setup the way it is factory. Only modify the overflow side that operates under load to catch oil before it goes back into the intake.
  20. Nice install. Gonna have to put that on the "to do" list along with my air/fuel ratio, boost controller, diff bush and LSD. Got myself a 4WD with 2 turbos that I have been playing with of late. G6e not getting much attention now.
  21. The stepped V bands are the better ones. They are not easy to weld to keep their shape and seal when both come together. I normally have both halves together with the V band and tack and TIG small sections and cool with a rag and I still cant get them to mesh perfectly flat.
