  1. Good for one decent spurt or two tiddlywinks
  2. They were fine. Had lunch today, 5 chicken drumsticks and a bag of retro lollies. Lollies are the same as rice right?!
  3. Some good points there. I'll get a bore thickness tester when the time is right, that way I can check things for myself, rather than just sending a block and hoping it is good. Grout filling will help no doubt, I think I would prefer to sleeve the block and keep the extra cooling capacity for a street car that tows stuff. I know I'm gonna send it again so may as well give it a solid chance of holding together.
  4. It might the first time you do it, after you've done it a few times it'll take fark all
  5. I haven't done it yet, I'll do it on Sunday. Usually takes me 45 minutes for the pair.
  6. Yep I told a guy an amount I would do it for and I discounted it for reasons. Going forward I'll just do an hourly rate. Some jobs go easy and some don't.
  7. I know what I'm charging but what would you pay for labour for engine mounts?
  8. They're still good right?! I'm farken gonna eat them either way!
  9. My theory is the iat got too high and exceeded the knock resistance of the fuel. It wouldn't take many knock events to do damage at that boost/power level. The iat got to 60C at 40psi which is fine but got up to 91C at 45psi which is not fine. Ironically the water meth would have probably saved it. I stopped running it cos it was getting into the tps and making the car shut down. To be fair as well, it could have just been too much for that particular stock bore. I calculated 1350hp at the crank last time at 38psi, how much is it making at 45psi? 1500? At any rate there's lessons to be learned and I'm happy to do so.
  10. I haven't run water meth for a number of weeks now, it wasn't on when it broke.
  11. I bought a new scan tool, it's pretty good.
  12. Yep well we just gotta wait and see, I'll keep yas updated, whenever that may be.
  13. Lol 2k doesn't even cover my lifters and roller rockers, but I get your drift. All I'm going to do for now is drain the water out of it so it stops leaking into the engine. When my new shed is up I'll pull it down for a closer look, but that's a few months away. I might get excited before then but unlikely.
  14. I have a 3 more blocks here I can use, so I should get them sonic tested to see which is best and use one of them. That coolant ingress you speak of is through the bore, at least it looks that way to me.
  15. I bought a new scan tool and with it came an endoscope. I had a look inside the bore of the hurt cylinder and to me it looks like I split the bore. I'll post a couple of pics and you all can tell me what you think.
  16. Edit, it's costing 89k all said and done. Haha looks like I wont be affording a new shop car but that's ok, cos shed
  17. I love it. There's probably some old overclocking boards out there, I might be able to run the chip at 3.4GHz or something lol. What I think I'll do sooner or later is upgrade the dyno pc with my current setup (4790k etc) and just get a new mobo, cpu and ram for my desktop. In other news the shed has been updated, the plan has been drawn up, the deposit has been paid and the council application will go in tomorrow. While I could afford the larger one and it would have fit, it was much too big to be reasonable lol...it would have been epic but not reasonable Here's a pic of the new version
  18. So rather than upgrade the dyno pc with something decent I'm merely upgrading the cpu from a core 2 E3400 to a core 2 Q9500. I'll even give it a a fresh 4gb of ddr2 800 to liven things up a bit. Haha very old tech but still a decent upgrade
  19. It's roughly $52,000 for the various options I've chosen. Without insulation and 5 electric roller doors I could save nearly 10k but fark that, it's stinking hot here in summer and I like doors
  20. So the shed design has changed slightly but not much, just changed the roof design to suit the shorter 8M span. I'm getting it re-quoted and from there I'll send a deposit and get things rolling. If I want it up this year the council will need to approve it almost immediately, so I'll go in there and ask them to do it lol. They either will or they wont, no harm in asking.
  21. It's Sunday, that's for sure. Looking forward to hearing more turbo noises this week 👉 👌
  22. @Typhoon it's a small world when it comes to 2k Barras bud I'll come say g'day at roll racing
