  1. It's only a couple of hundred dollars for a regency check to get the new engine number on the rego if matching numbers is a concern.
  2. That "ahhhhhhhahahaha" laugh is actually the retard laugh from houso's and swift and shift in case anyone was wondering.
  3. Op I didn't want to bring up @BAXRTUTE cos I thought it could be a sore point for him. However since he has mentioned his modding journey you should take note of what he says. Read his earlier posts and remember that your arse will sorer than his when you're done.
  4. Lol in other words you can't tell the difference so no one can right? Ahhhhhhhahahaha
  5. Maybe I'm just getting old but nothing could convince me, not even blow jobs for days, to waste that much time, effort and money on a $3k car when I could just buy something up to the task for less than it would cost to modify a na car in the long run. #longestsentence
  6. Op there are literally dozens of stock and modified turbo ba's kicking around on gumtree for less than $10k and closer to 5 than 10. There are plenty of fg turbos around the $15k mark. Hell you can get a barely used sprint on super low finance for $40k. There was a highly modified bf for sale in Adelaide with over 500rwkw for $25k. Make a few calls and see what you'd get if you dropped a mid 2000 na sedan off at a shop and said make it fast?! Most wouldn't do it the way you want because you would pay out the arse for fark all and you'd be unhappy with the result. Even if I did all the work myself I still wouldn't do it that way to achieve owning a turbo falcon. But hey I'm just a puffwagon so what would I know?
  7. I did a reasonable amount of driving this morning. There isn't much noise from the back at all really. No axle tramp either. Result=Happy.
  8. I'm in Adelaide and I'll give you the best advice you'll ever hear. Sell your car and buy a turbo version. /thread
  9. I'm just commenting cos why not. I swap every 5k in my turbo cars, every 7k in my na cars that get hammered and a bit longer in my gently driven cars. This varies a little. It can usually go a bit longer Maybe I'm imagining things but I can hear and feel when my oil is rooted close to the km mentioned so I swap it.
  10. I'll tell you tomorrow after I drive it to the tyre shop. I haven't driven it enough to know yet. The bush tool in use.
  11. I've driven it all of 40km so far as I'm due for a wheel alignment tomorrow. I'm pretty sure I can feel the gap and then it's quite firm. You can feel it in a hard shift. With normal driving it's not noticeable. I've only booted it a couple of times and it's quite stable. Here's a pic of the other two I replaced.
  12. I paid $11600 for my 07 Bfmk2 nearly 2 years ago from a dealer. It had a full service history, 138xxxkm and had a full engine rebuild at 99000km due to bring driven with a faulty head gasket. It came with reciepts that exceeded the price I paid for it. That's coming up as sold.
  13. Nope. I Googled it just now. Haha I can still see my feet and definitely can still see my old fella!
  14. Mine had been idling at about 30 this winter and running around 60. Recently I've seen it running about 70. It is the gforce xtreme edition so it has decent cooling. I'd still prefer a custom loop by all accounts.
  15. I learnt to play "Wayside" on guitar a while back. There is some good stuff out there but you gotta go looking for it.
  16. All good mate. You should be able to make the most of your setup now that it runs so cool. After a 38 outside temp and a 28 inside temp today, I found my air cooled card sitting at 48 idle.
  17. I have used afterburner for the last 4 years. It works well, although some games are intolerant to having background apps running such as oc apps or framerate apps.
  18. That's some good results mate. Just remember that furmark flogs the crap out of your hardware. Heaven or Time Spy will give you results that are more likely to take place in the real world.
  19. Hi mate I've had a bit of a read of your thread. I've got a couple of cents spare tonight and I'm happy to share fwiw. I wouldn't buy anything less than a 2007 bfmk2. Better for middle ground modding without breaking. I prefer the look of the bf but I like the engine layout of the fg better. I looked for roughly 6 months in sa for my car (stock 07 bf mk2) due to a lack of available non modded cars. This was nearly 2 years ago and prices have fallen slightly. Like any car just make sure it has a service history and it's not molested inside, under or out. Imo don't buy a slightly broken one or something that needs the last 5 years of neglected maintenance done when you buy it. It's not worth it. Cars come up for sale fairly regularly and once you have done your research and decided what you need, you will find your car. Imho bide your time and find your perfect car. I don't think you are there yet. Good luck and stay patient.
  20. I'm down for a cruise or at least a meet up/bbq sometime. Fairly busy with kids but happy to plan a day off. Sorry wa boys for the hijack. I'd come for a drive no worries if I wasn't 2900km away. P.s. Cockburn and Cockram. Dafaq?

Reminds of when it was just before my teens when my biggest problem was trying not waking up my dad in the morning with my rm80.

I'm on the outside looking in.
  23. I just finished a home made toe alignment. I had swapped the tie rods the other day but cbf checking after I was finished. It had a total toe out of 7mm before adjusting and now it has a total of 1mm in. The steering wheel looks straight and each side is the same distance out from the chassis. It should be good enough to drive to the shop on Tuesday for tyres and a proper alignment/check of deadly home alignment.
