  1. Point taken kevin bacon. I was looking at something like this.
  2. Haha I said this exact thing to my wife about 2 months ago. I said I'd put a pair of panty hose over the turbo and a 45 out by the door for the drags.
  3. FTFY I have a history of buying stuff and wishing I went bigger. I know the turbo will do it's bit but I'm dubious that a twin 2.5 will let the turbo stretch it's legs.
  4. Nah no catback as they are too expensive for a good one and a twin 2.5 isn't big enough. I'd like to make it hard for myself and make a 4 inch exhaust in my driveway/workbench with an angle grinder, a drop saw, a bunch of straight pipe and bends/donuts, a muffler (or 2), a resonator, some flanges and stick it all together with a $200 gasless mig from bunnings. Either that or I'll get lazy and do nothing which is better than 50/50. I will fork out for valve springs and a 4 inch intake though and make a battery relocation kit. It won't be any time soon cos the missus is already mad about me buying stuff.
  5. They are just 235's. They are new and sticky and have more grip than my 255 semis that I replaced them with. I'll have a play tomorrow and see if it will go better now that it has a more efficient compressor. I'm not expecting a lot though as I'm pretty sure the previously mentioned shortcomings will just hold it back. You wouldn't be far off
  6. Yep that's the zf. It's hard to tell from the video but the valve springs are just starting to suffer at about 4500 rpm. It is noticeable in the car and very noticeable if I turn the boost up. Lol it loves it at 12-14 psi, it will rev to 6500 no worries plus I can up the timing so it sounds and goes great.
  7. No stall up just planted from a standstill. Don't mind the oil light, the wire is off the sender.
  8. I don't know how much power it has. I haven't had it on a dyno yet. I spose if you were to look through all of the results for modded cars with stock catback and crossover then mine would be in there somewhere. I'll take a little video on my mates private road and you guys can have a guess.
  9. Lol I aint taking it past 6k until the springs are done. A valve hitting the piston is the last thing I want. I gave it all kindz of boot fulls, all kindzzzz. A boot here, a boot there, a 1 2 3 4 a boot everywhere. It goes ok. As I mentioned I haven't changed the tune so I'll do some datalogging sometime soon and see whats up. I know the fuel is ok cos I have a wideband installed.
  10. Maybe not with the stock crossover and the stock catback. I don't really want to pull timing to up the boost atm as the various restrictions will just heat the head up and make it even more prone to knock. I spose I could give it a crack. I have a few tunes that I can load up that run more boost with less timing. The valve springs aren't very happy so that kinda stops it being wound up or revved out. It'll happily rev to 6k with 16 psi but any more and the valve springs say nope.
  11. Big front mount with 2.5 inch piping, bosch 980cc injectors, venom 4 inch dump into 5 inch cat into single 3.5 into twin 2.5 then stock after that, walbro gs342 intank, gen2 gtx3582r. Tuned with hp tuners. Currently on 16psi. T3 brakes up front. That's about it. No need for a build thread. It's pretty basic off the shelf mods mostly.
  12. Lol one last fark around; I had to clock the chra about 2mm cos the banjo bolt for the coolant wouldn't go in. It's all together now though. I didn't touch the tune and after it had idled for a while I went for a drive. It makes 5psi at 1750rpm in 6th and pulls a decent bit harder. I've had enough car sh*t for today so it's dinner, beer, rum and vodka time
  13. Nope next farkaround was lining up the oil drain and then tapping a new thread into the sump. All done! Now for intercooler piping, coolant lines, oil feed and finding a brass or plastic t piece.
  14. Ha thanks mate, nothing a drill, angle grinder, shifter and a bunch of swearing couldn't fix. When the rain farks off I'll go back out and bolt it all up.
  15. Fark no it's not fun. I got it sorted now. I had to fark around with the oil drain as well. Now I'm heading out there to put the turbo in.
  16. Bracket farkery to get it and the rod to clear the engine mount and to also allow enough preload.
  17. No I left it on. You could be a slack arse and just put a bolt in there with a split washer or nord lock washer. You can do it up from underneath with a socket then uni bit then extension then ratchet.
  18. It finally got cool enough to work on the car by 7:30 this evening. I went outside, dropped the engine oil and starting taking my turbo off. After an hour I had one bolt left and the missus comes out and asks, "Is that the new one"? I replied, "I wish I could take off a turbo and set up and fit the new one in an hour". I got the old one off anyway so the new one will go on tomorrow.
  19. I have quite a few logs with my gtx wheel in the 0.7 housing that can be compared with the new turbo. I also have all of the old tunes that go with the logs so I can make sure the comparison is as accurate as possible by using the various tunes I have. I'd be happy to send some your way when I have some suitable comparisons.
  20. I have a better idea. How about you buy a gen 2 gtx 3576 with a small turbine housing and large external gate then compound it with your current turbo? That will be on like a light bulb from nearly nothing and pull like a train. You'll have double the choochoo and none of the whinging lol.
  21. It won't do anything crazy yet as I still have other upgrades to do but I'll get there. I still have; stock intake, stock catback, and stock valve springs. I'll run out of pump with this turbo as I only have an old walbro gs34x intank. Slowly slowly. Meanwhile I'll still have fun running around on whatever psi (15ish) the car feels comfortable at.
  22. @JETURBO The turbo arrived today safe and sound. I'll put it in tomorrow as it's 34 degrees outside and still getting hotter and fark lying on the hot arsed driveway.
