Ya old carnt! I usually stay awake until I'm tired which is 1:00am most nights. My latest thing is to go to bed at a normal time ie:10:00pm and then wake up at 1:00am and stay awake for 2 or 3 hours then go to bed. It sucks a fat one as I'm left tired and fatigued for most of the day. I'm not sure if that's from getting old or sleep walking.

I've lived in every capital city bar Darwin. I've also been to almost every small town in Australia. If you are talking about geographic planning or urban structure then you couldn't be farther from the truth. Do some research and you will see that Adelaide is one of Australia's best planned cities. Farken hell I just saw this now. I filled up 2 hours ago and made my car ok to drive on the street. I came home and had some drinks and now I'm stuck here. I don't know how I missed this. Edit: I have no faceballs. My wife just told me there are 2500 people confirmed attending and she knew about it a few days ago. Maybe I got lucky lol.

The breaker was fine (for the wiring) as it didn't trip. The wiring was too thin for the load and heated up and burnt.

I would be reluctant to go dual card again for gaming as these days as it is not needed. Maybe I'd get another 980ti just because they are getting cheaper by the day but I don't like the stuttering. I'm sure sli/crossfire support will improve as time goes by, at least in the AAA titles. Give it a few years and a single card will exceed 60 fps if not double that at 4k and will come in at the usual $1000 price. With the more obvious move toward multithreading I think my cpu should hold up for nearly a decade before becoming obsolete for gaming based on Intel's current cycle. Hopefully AMD can shake that up in the coming weeks and years.

Haha @bloodycrashboy I have a neptom 240m and it it usually goes to 75 when playing assetto corsa. @masda74 I'm pretty sure I've got the best I can from my setup. I'm not game to put more than 1.65 volts on the ram. There is little benefit to having the ram run 300Mhz faster and the cpu 200Mhz faster (assuming that a new chip will get to 4.8Ghz) so I'll just stick with what I have for now. The only bsods I've seen lately are due to the graphics driver but at the rate nvidia pumps them out it usually gets fixed fairly quickly. I had 2 r9 290x's in crossfire previous to swapping to the gtx980ti. The power supply was sufficient to run them at stock speeds but when I oc'd them I was getting crashes constantly. After thorough diagnosing I worked out that I needed a 1200w psu minimum for that setup. I may get another 980ti one day but I rarely feel like I need more gpu power at 1440p. Maybe I'll upgrade cards in a few years if I ever move to a 4k monitor.

My personal thermometer is reserved for my butt. I have a couple of different inside outside thermometers. It's always hotter at my house than Adelaide.

The best part is that it has only just started to give us a few decently hot days. I saw 48 last year in December and I'm betting that will appear again this year in January if not this week. Funny thing is that in 6 months it will cold af, we'll be running the open fire and complaining about how it's 0 outside and 10 degrees in the living area in the morning. It's still 37 degrees at 7:30pm now.

My poor wife can't cope (she's from tassy) so I'm constantly misting her with an atomiser and moving a fan to wherever she is lol. It's about 32 in the house. It's 6:50pm and it's dropped to 38 so it's a bit better. The kids and I aren't bothered by it, we just hang out in our boxers/nappies.

The house was new when we moved in. All of that stuff appeared in the time we lived there. Mate don't get too wound up about your situation cos it won't change the anything, it'll just make you mad. Get some woosah going on and think long term. It will all be sorted out eventually. You might have to be assertive for a while but it will all work out ok. Think about it this way; off to work soon...money!!!! (and time away from annoying family lol) I found a good way to deal with GRRR is to hit the weights or go for a run or remind the missus what she signed up for lol. Ye'll be right mate

I rented a newly built house for 18 months before I bought my current abode. Apparently the house and block owed the guy around $400k in Angle Park. The workmanship was not good enough for me. Cracked and uneven floor tiles, cracks in the ceiling plaster, cornices separating, paving like a freshly jumped on waterbed, failed water pump for toilet backup and sunken pavers under water tank, failed main aircon unit (pinched end wasn't soldered and leaked the gas out), streaks in the one thin coat of paint and a lack of insulation in certain areas that made the house a sweltering hell hole in summer despite the 7+kw aircon in the living/kitchen/dining area. I would never in a million years pay to get a house built. I'm pretty sure the lazy-entitled gene has passed onto too many people now and it seems that we pay good money for fark all or to get farked in the arse these days. I'll either buy an older house that has had time to expose it's flaws or do a @Frederick and get me some building tickets. Imo once you get the wiring fixed if you are serious about selling then sell it before all of the problems I just mentioned come up.

Could do? If the entire face of the radiator was fully shrouded like an r33 gtst shroud then probably not. You can have all the fans in the world but without a functional shroud you're screwed. I just top mine up to the very top when started from cold and as soon as the level begins to rise I do the cap up. I then take it to operating temp and drive around the block, making sure to pull a skid or 2. The next day when it is stone cold I just check the level and top up if necessary. Fortunately the xr6 cooling setup is no vl commy setup and pretty much bleeds itself. Hey, your fans are pulling air through toward the engine and not pushing away right?

There were only 2 stock bf mk2 xr6t's for sale in sa when I was looking a couple of years ago. Dozens of modded ba's though lol. Mine was just under $12k and the other was nearly $14k.

That is a valid point and should be considered when weighing up what to do. I made that judgment call last year. I've been in a situation where I lost 1 phase out of 3 phases in my consumer main. I lost power to 3 quarters of the house as the lights, fans, stove and power points were on 2 phases split between the front and back of the house with the hot water on a separate phase. I called sa power and they came out immediately despite it being nearly midnight. They said that they had to pull the fuses and not replace them until I had it fixed and signed off. I made sure the guys left the main feed fuses with me after they pulled them. They were happy to do that after I opened the breaker box and showed them exactly how I was going to fix it and confirmed with them that I would back them up that they had done their job by removing them. I replaced and rewired the whole box, added a bunch of breakers rather than 70 yo porcelain fuses and labelled everything. I left out the main feed fuse to the open circuit phase. I got an electrician to come out, check my work and sign it off a couple of days later. After all that, it is still a temporary measure until I rewire the whole house. I still wouldn't climb in my roof space without the main fuses pulled as all of my wiring is in metal conduit and possibly as old as the house which is 70 years. It's a judgment call that can only be made by Pix if he is 100% sure it is safe to proceed without qualified intervention. Having no power is a big ask especially at this time of year. So is burning down your house when you know you have melted wires exposed.

Hopefully it is just in that enclosure.

I assumed, perhaps incorrectly, that there would be a stock fan arrangement on there acting in much the same way that a stock fan tune would.
