  1. Yerp. It has a different turbo, different intake and different cooler piping. I'll put more boost into it and hope the valve springs hold up.
  2. Drags are on again at AIR on the 22nd. Hopefully I can go better than last time.
  3. The second one is done mentally and the third is a physical check if necessary for me. Gotta have a good memory lol. I take the time to mentally check as it is much quicker than checking with tools. I didn't do anything with my car today. It has been 46 degrees for 3 days straight. I was outside working on some other stuff and noticed the car needed a wash. I've been planning a tuning day when it cools down. Tomorrow is supposed to be 32 so I guess a clean and a bunch of tuning is in order. I should probably have another try at finding that rear clunk.
  4. Anywayyyy I bought a pressure cooker a few months ago. I think it was about a hundred bucks. If you don't own one then go out and get one asap. It pretty much cooks stuff 5 times faster than a pan or pot. There are so many recipes online, they are simple af and taste delicious! It brings batchelor food to a whole new level. Bolognese, stews, soups, chicken legs or tittays, lamb casserole the list goes on. I've even made what I like to call, "hotdog chicken". It has a couple of chicken breasts, American mustard, sweet chilli sauce, tomato sauce, a little bit of nandos medium peri peri and some honey. That should go well with quality pan sealed snags or chorizo instead of chicken. Tl;dr buy a pressure cooker and reap the rewards.
  5. Fair points there skidxr6t. You mention that there aren't repeat offenders and that shows that the penalties are working as a punishment. What it also shows to me is that the current laws and penalties are not working as a deterrent. I think we should be tough on the offenses that have the potential to kill people. Perhaps a 90 day impound and a 12 month loss of license with over $5k of mandatory fines for a first offense, for example, may seem harsh but I think that would be a sufficient deterrent to prevent people from risking my life and yours. On the topic of racing events imo sh*t happens. You knew what you signed up for. Despite waivers there is legal recourse in some circumstance such as assault and personal/criminal negligence etc if it can be proven.
  6. No point in speculating upon things that will never happen. There's a big difference to the Captain Cook Highway and a twin lane national highway. It used to be 100 the whole way from Craiglie to Trinity Beach except for the Wangetti and a couple of beach stops. That road needs to be slowed down if it hasn't since I drove it dozens of times just over 10 years ago.
  7. Google it mate. It's nothing to set up. If a tuner can't use one then take your car elsewhere.
  8. Free tune from helluva guys mates missus cousin. Sorted.
  9. Maybe he knows a guy who knows a guy.
  10. Pretty much yes and no. I understand what you are saying (small percentage of people that need to be controlled by laws due to their stupid decision making) but I think you worded it poorly. There's always going to be some dumb carnts who have to fark it up for the rest of us and yes the rest of us have stricter road rules to abide by. Ironically if you don't drive like a knob you won't notice these changes and they won't affect you much if at all. Just changing your vote will do nothing. You have to get the legislation repealed or amended. This means actually finding someone who will be willing to wear the public sh*tstorm that will come with changing laws that appeal to the masses that get their sjw boner from a biased media. Then there is the issue of reducing revenue which no form of government wants and the inevitable backlash and disassociation from political peers that will soon see them in the same category as many disgraced or "nutty" politicians. It'll never happen. Anyways I'm off to eat some chicken.
  11. That or the 20 rolls before a gradual stop.
  12. Most of the roads I drive on could have the speed limit lifted considerably. I think the main issue with raising limits is the apparent inability for what appears to be the majority of people to drive correctly at the current limits. Take Port Wakefield Road for example. It has a limit of 110 kph. So many times I've been held up in the right lane because some fool is going 95 kph in the left lane and some other fool is overtaking at 97 kph. Occasionally they'll just pull in front of me often with no warning or indication to overtake said slow driver while I have to get on the brakes due to their situational unawareness. Imagine the road now has a limit of 140 kph and fools are still driving 90 kph in the left and overtaking slow as sh*t on the right. I could stop in time (most of the time) as I'm focussed and aware of my surroundings. I've seen plenty of people on their phones or distracted while driving and that's where bad things will happen at speeds that most people are considerably more unlikely to live through. I don't think speed is the issue, I think it is more so the distracted and incompetent drivers that are the problem with driving fast.
  13. How do you figure that? A quick look through Ebay shows that it isn't cheaper to buy 2 pcm's let alone pay someone to set up and tune just one of them. For sure some folks could wait around and find a cheap pcm on gumtree or something and set it up themselves but even then you still need the hardware to do it which is around the $1000 mark.
  14. You mean a drag strip? I went to one recently myself. It cost $100, I did skids and drove my car nearly double the speed limit. I didn't risk anyone's life that hadn't signed up for it and got a total of zero demerits and zero fines.
  15. I see your point about there being a possible raised risk of people doing a runner. I don't however agree with your stance on mandatory and immediate punishment. It is worth noting that police already have discretion about whether or not they want to stop your car and even if they do stop you, whether or not they want to take further action. As for mandatory immediate licence suspension and car impoundment there are obvious reasons why this is a suitable and preferred method of removing offenders and their vehicles from endangering the general public. Do you really want people with so little regard for human life and public safety ie; high range drink driving, excessive speed, dangerous driving, unlawful threatening, sex offenders etc (that is not an exhaustive list by any means) to be able to just resume driving or remain a threat once the police give them some paperwork with a court date and leave the scene? Fark no, they need to be dealt with at the time of offence and in some cases removed from society immediately until a court date. Just my 2c Brb pulling a skid
  16. Lol I just had a slightly closer read of that link I posted and it appears to be for au stuff. It should still provide assistance with search terms at least.
  17. Not taking away from that advice but rather adding to it, I've found aftermarket boost control a breeze to set up compared to the stock ford stuff when learning from scratch. On the plus side the stock stuff does work for 99.9% of applications and is free. I don't know about every pcm but mine has the option of making it manual or auto by ticking a box and inputting trans specs. Mine is designed for the zf though and I don't know what strategies can be flashed into it. It may not be able to run a btr and that's where I'd agree with using the specific ecu for the trans.
  18. The pinout is referring to the pins on the ecu and a wiring diagram describes what signals come in or out of those pins. The wiring loom may look identical and be physically transferable (on many cars) but there can be different signals on some of the pins or slightly different internal wiring that prevent a simple ecu or loom swap. From what ralph is saying and what I can vaguely remember you need to rewire the tmap sensor as the wiring is back to front or something. I haven't looked it up for a few years but I know there is some very specific info online about ford tmap sensor wiring and voltage scales. This should get you started. As I said it's been a while but for me since I looked this stuff up but this should clarify some things for you and also give a starting point for your research.
  19. That does all make sense and while I don't have the answers myself some guys here can definitely give you solid advice. What I can offer is a recommendation to check out the hp tuners forum. There is a lot of specific tuning and non bolt on modifying advice over there.
  20. Not all mechanics try to shaft you. My local mechanic only charged me $30 to put my car on the hoist and properly adjust my trans fluid level. Well worth it considering the fark around of doing it in the driveway. I can't see anyone charging much just for a diagnosis even if they are charging $100+ p/h.
  21. Evening. Getting there, getting there.
  22. That'll do. Same as mercury draught. Woop 1300 posts! Now where's my chicken dinner?
  23. Humor me. Specific density and all bro.
  24. So basically as long as your shart don't stink we're all good. Please repeat that k31th but in algebraic notation.
