  1. Go to Linus tech tips or jayz2cents on youtube. Between them and the rest of the internet you'll be sorted in no time.
  2. I have some advice. 1st is to Google a company that will do it for you. Next would be to Google the requirements that you are asking about and working out how to do it. 3rd would be me asking for your home town and googling a transfer company for you. 4th is me googling the hardware and software requirements for your transfer and explaining to you. I'm pretty sure that link will have you sorted. If you get stuck I'll get googling for you. It won't be until tomorrow though.
  3. True? I wouldn't hurt or kill an animal for fun but I try to keep an open mind if I choose to eat them or provide for my kin. This is going to sound dark by sjw standards but in my eyes everything has it's place and if it involves killing then so be it. We wouldn't have kfc or maccas without it. Look up a series on Netflix called 'meat eaters'. You sound like a good man though, you appear to have respect for life.
  4. Very nice. Nothing like making your own beer and it turning out good. If you don't have a beard, your spirit beard grew another 2 inches at least.
  5. One has stopped but the other lays one every 2nd day. The other 6 met their demise over the years due to age and heat. They're all isa browns. They only cost about $20 a month so they can stay. I have no trouble killing an animal humanely to eat. Fortunately I'm not in the position where I have to.
  6. So how is that home brew going? You must have a few done by now ay?
  7. All good mate. It's not any harder than fixing ya motorcycle, it's just different.
  8. Suh dudes?! Aye so I guess that some of you have read about my recent electrical woes in the wpmo thread? Earlier in this thread I was talking about issues with running my ram at it's rated speed on my pc and gaming setup. A light bulb went off in my head earlier today When I built my pc back in July 2015 I originally used a couple of 8 GB Corsair Vengeance in a kit rated at 2133MHz and had no trouble for months. Now that I think back I started to have trouble when my electric woes started last year. They appeared out of the blue. The 2133 ram wouldn't stably run faster than the "stock" (1600MHz) cpu rating. After having various memtest errors in the various testing configurations I said fark it and went and bought 32 GB of Corsair Vengeance 2400MHz ram in 2x16GB kits. Now maybe I'm way off and my original thoughts of cpu or mb limits were correct but now I'm thinking that because I have massive voltage fluctuations it is causing my pc to run at sub optimal levels. I know at least one of you guys knows something I don't so maybe someone could chime in with opinion or fact on what happens when a computer is subjected to 10 to 50 volt drops. I know it doesn't turn off but I do get random blue screens related to ram or gpu when it is not under gaming loads.
  9. Haha you bet I have. They'd be a bit tough and gamey now as they are old ladies. I suppose a soup wouldn't be out of the question.
  10. You gave them away? I've gradually gone from 6 eggs a day down to nearly nothing over the last 3 years. Now they just annoy me. Not only do they crap on the doorstep but they also come inside to eat the cat food. It's not like they are lacking in pellets, water and food scraps either.
  11. Well this didn't piss me off but the rest of the conversation is in this thread so whatever. The local electrician came out and is fixing it early next week. Better yet his quote is very reasonable. In order to keep some relevance to the thread I'll post a wpmo today. The farken chickens insist on crapping on my back door step. Grrr.
  12. Thanks ROB83R. It is a straight forward job as far as I can tell. When it's done it'll be a load off my mind. Get it? Load...ok I'll see myself out.
  13. I called sa power and was told to contact an electrician. Their responsibility stops at the fuses from the street, not including the meters. I've got a guy coming out this afternoon to have a look. Edit: I know a guy just like that.
  14. Seems reasonable. Perhaps there wasn't suitable plastic alternatives 71 years ago.
  15. Ironically (no pun intended) and somewhat fortunately it's mostly all metal up there. Some is 6mm twin and earth. There are no exposed wires. I'm still alive but I think I would be broke or dead if I didn't know a thing or two. For curiosities sake, who thought it was a good idea to run electricity through metal conduit? It seems counter intuitive.
  16. Isn't it a ratio of something to something? If you wouldn't put your tongue or your dick on it then turn it off or wear gloves for protection.
  17. Yep. It'll kill you if you're not careful.
  18. There was an extension done out the back at some stage so the meters are inside. I have coffee with the meter man every 3 months. The house was built in 1946 and some of it is original. Although some circuits have been replaced there is still quite a lot of the cloth variety in there. My plan is to replace the consumer main asap then I'll map out the rest of the house to make plans for future upgrades including various fittings and appliances. I've already labeled everything behind the board to help with future work. Lol when I first climbed in the roof, back when I bought it, I saw the metal conduit and quickly climbed back out and pulled the fuses. I'll look into sa power doing repairs. Ain't nobody got time for getting fried.
  19. I rebuilt the board but the phase rewire was done by a qualified electrician. The consumer main is in the roof in metal conduit. My guess is the roof is leaking onto it and shorting it out. Apart from potential appliance damage worse case scenario is blowing the main fuse from the street. I was joking about the fire, it's not just sitting in plastic. If I call sa power they'll just come and pull the fuses until I get it fixed. I'll be making phone calls in the morning to get it replaced. I don't suppose you want a cash job or can recommend someone? I just checked the voltage again and it's currently (pun intended) 235 out the socket. That's with a couple of ceiling fans, 2 lights, modem, the tv, sound system, fridge and deep freeze running. I know it's farked but I don't think it's glowing. I still wouldn't climb in the roof space without pulling the street fuses.
  20. Wpmo today; The consumer main in my house is about to fail. I have 3 phase power and last year a phase failed. No worries, just rewire it and run the house off one phase. Upon noticing some issues after the rain lately I decided to check the voltage. I haven't checked the street but the board is receiving 235 volts. With everything in the house off, the plugs are getting 220 volts. With the kettle on it drops to 190. After I switched on 4 hotplates on the stove, the kettle and one portable aircon unit, it dropped to 140 volts. I also noticed that when I boosted the controlled load the voltage came up on the other phase. Farken farkers farked. If I still have power and don't wake up on fire tomorrow I'll be happy.
  21. Ok at least you have that covered. I guess you're just waiting on the sellers reply.
