So I was thinking about grow beds. On the site linked earlier in the thread there are 500 litre tubs for nearly $400 a pop. Ain't nobody got time fo dat! Bunnings has 170 litre tubs for less than $20 a pop. They are made from a different type of plastic but appear to suitable.

It looks like you can remove pesticides etc with various types of filters.
  3. The rego runs out tonight and cos I hardly use it I'm not going to renew it until the cruise.
  4. Fark yeah beautiful weather this morning. My cars having a rest for the next couple of months after today so I should probably take it for a spin before the lunch beers add up.
  5. Thanks mate, they removed it all so it should be ok. Apparently I have tough skin so my doctor asked me if I got a lot of sun over the years. I said, "About half and half, you know, cos half the time it's night time". Haha, dad joke Morning to ya all.
  6. I hope it all turns out for the best for you and yours mate. Not much more I can say.
  7. Yep. It also depends where you are. The roads out here are straight. I've seen a local bloke driving a few days after being stopped for going at least 45 over. I know cos I sped up to check after he overtook me flat out.
  8. I've had a decent lump appear on my neck over the last 2 months. After 2 weeks I accidentally scratched it and it bled for over half an hour. I patched it up and from nothing it turned into a half cc protuberance. I got it removed today under local. I'll find out soon if it is benign or not.
  9. I did similar in Perth once and it was $1300 and 6 months. They changed it from +45 to 22 over cos I manned up and visited the officers after they left a note on my front door. I also avoided getting my car impounded. It was bad luck as it happened to be a one off tuning pull on that road.
  10. I haven't checked into it but where does the liability fall when there are 3rd party injuries sustained from non approved developments? I assume it falls on the current owner? I could be wrong. Does anyone know?
  11. They would have. It wouldn't have been picked up until someone complained to the council or he went to sell it.
  12. Howdy Never had any say Panda. That sucks about how your house is positioned. It kind of sounds like you are stuck between a rock and a hard place. On one side you want to improve your dwelling and the other side it seems you are pushing sh*t uphill. I feel the same about my house for different reasons. It is very old and could do with $50k to $70k spent on it with me doing most of the work to make it more than just a roof over my head. I would be lucky to break even if I knocked it down and rebuilt, and if I spent the money to fix it I would come out in front slightly. Sometimes it is better to look for something more suitable.
  13. Im a little confused as well. Is it just the rubber boot that's split? If the joint and bearings are still ok you can just repack it and chuck a new boot on. Have a look in the driveline forum. There is an old thread called 'genuine ford shafts are a rip off' or something like that. That'll give you some insight. I personally wouldn't buy cheap aftermarket shafts unless there was evidence that they are strong enough or I had to limp around for a while. Also Google 'The driveshaft shop'. There are bolt in shafts good for 700 rwhp that are $1800 and there is a shaft and hub kit good for double that for $200 more.

Heh ya gotta love waking up at 4am with a baby that thinks it's time to get up won't go back to sleep. It is something different for us. I'm just about to fire up youtube on the tv so we can watch how various setups come together and operate.

I showed the missus the intro video this morning. She seemed interested but due to her having a 4 am start with the baby the conversation didn't go far.
  16. Fark yeah I just won the lotto. $15 and 35 cents. That's 3 quarters of a 6 pack. Brb, not retiring.

Well it seems like there is another huge learning curve coming up. It's kind of funny that the wife was just talking about getting the garden going again today and now this pops up.
  18. I've got a machined rb30 block with cp pistons to suit that has run about 5000km. The 25 head has been modded for internal vct feed and blocked off at the front. There are a few other goodies to hold it together and various other parts/mods to make it work. I just need a wrist pin, a new rod and get the crank ground then the long block can go back together with new gaskets and bearings. I've got 2 more rb30 long blocks in the shed if needed. Fark that car anyway. I'll waste more money on the ford before I put that back together.
  19. Ok I'll take a look into it. The missus is keen to get the garden going again and this could be a better way to do it. I can use roughly 100m2 for vegetables without affecting other use of the backyard. That should be good enough for a hydroponic greenhouse setup. Haha people will think I'm growing weed. If I follow through (I might not) it'll be like pantene, it won't happen overnight but it will happen.
  20. I've thought about it in passing but never put in the ground work to determine feasibility. I have the room so I guess it can't hurt to look into it.
  21. I also have a 1995 s2 r33 coupe that had 340rwkw before it hydrolocked from a leaking injector o-ring and broke. I still have all the bits in the shed. Haha if I ever repair it I'll use a bigger turbo then a gt35r.
  22. Nope they're gone. They were considered an old ordinary car back then. Along with my hd and ht belmont. The oldest cars I have now is the 88 skyline and the 89 vn.
