  1. So I modded an r34 gtr in Assetto Corsa for drag racing. It has a couple of suspension mods, a hectic grip mod, boost, wg and boost gauge mods, weighs 300 kg less (around 1335kg) and obviously a power mod. Maybe some other crap I can't recall right now. I found slipping the clutch in first to launch and short changing into 2nd will keep the front end down. It won't do a skid due to grip. The turbo really comes in at 6k rpm. Here is the file on dropbox. You go to Steam\steamapps\common\assettocorsa\content\cars\ks_nissan_skyline_r34\data Backup your data folder and replace it with the modded one. I managed a 6.999 quarter mile on the back wheels. Have fun and share your modded cars if you have some.
  2. I tagged him third post in.
  3. We'll have to persuade him then
  4. There you go @k31th Next time you can go to the island with Rab.
  5. That's still stock turbo territory. You can tune the turbo to come on slower and it hooks up heaps better than just slamming full boost in as soon as you can. I haven't taken my zf equipped car around a track but I imagine that as long as it's kept cool and well fed it will do what it's supposed to. On a recent hills drive I found other things lacking before the transmission.
  6. Ya know one way you can tell if it's coils?
  7. Ftfy Remedy: R&r coils or regap plugs
  8. Haha I'm only sh*t stirring you bud. I buy coppers and last time I checked they still have a fat arsed electrode. I've had no issues hand gapping them and running over 30 psi on my r33 and now 18 to 20 psi on my xr6 so while I could throw money down the drain I don't need to. Obviously it can be farked up if someone doesn't know what they are doing, just like changing a tyre or swapping out brake pads or sticking it in the right hole when the lights are out. The fact remains is that you can regap a plug, even an iridium plug, to solve a weak coil issue. A little info never hurt anyone.
  9. If you can't gap a set of plugs without farking them you aren't a mechanic. Edit: His "old" plugs aren't old.
  10. Is an explanation needed?
  11. I'll stick to gapping my plugs unless new ones are needed then sure get smaller gapped ones. It's better for me not to waste a set of plugs. Each to his own though ay
  12. I already have a Honda Odyssey but will be upgrading that toward the end of the year methinks.
  13. The reason you close the plug gap is so the spark wont blow out. I'm gunna pull a Jet moment here and say work the rest out yourselves Being a Puffwagon and all I'll tell yas the answer if you can't though
  14. They were good today. I told them that if they behaved I'd take them to the park and it seemed to work. Then the boys proceeded to go mental at the park. It tired them out good which is a plus when I have 3 of them at home by myself. Getting them all in and out of the car takes a while though.
  15. Nothing like wrestling 3 kids into 3 car seats in the back of a falcon and taking them to the shops. Wish me luck.
  16. http://www.foddy.net/Athletics.html Best 5.4 metres.
  17. I reckon that's a better idea than spending all your money on a daily then flogging the living fark out of it.
  18. You know what would be cheaper than coils? Closing the plug gap. A small adjustment to say 0.8 would probably keep the issue at bay for many more thousands of kms. It can't hurt to try before shelling out for coils. I'd try that first being a puffwagon and all.
  19. Yep they all do that eventually just before they start to fall over.
  20. 1) 0 being street only and 10 being circuit only, where do you land? If it's circuit only that you care about then get a manual for reasons. I think you answered your question anyway as you "prefer the auto as it's a daily driver". I agree with that, gimme an auto any day. 2) I prefer the barra cos turbo. Throttle control is needed whether you have a linear power delivery or not. I spose a turbo car is harder to get right but once you know what you're doing it's 2nd nature. 3) I don't have one. @nelsonian101 would be the guys whose brain you want to pick.
  21. Ftfy That is the epitome of the apples and oranges phrase. If you kept the wg shut, quite a few smaller turbos would make a ton of boost on a 4 litre before falling over.
  22. I looked them up on Google last night so you need to confirm availability etc.
  23. Something something compressor map.

  25. Yeah it is quite floral and certainly takes an open mind to drink it and not hate it. I've just tried the castaway cider as well as the pear variety. It's obvious why it's $16 a 10 pack. Crack a tin and fart aromas leap out and choke you. I didn't let it go to waste though
