This conversation sums up some of what I mean about 91 vs e85 price.
Apart from a 10 litre jerry the missus picked up a few months back I haven't bought any for about 3 years or so.
I chucked 45 litres of e85 on top of a quarter or so of a tank of 98 today.
I adjusted the tune to suit and it goes quite well. It is holding nearly 19 psi to redline with a bit more in the middle and there is plenty of fuel there.
Fun fun
Ps which bastard decided that e85 should be $1.40/L when 91 is only $1.02?
I wired up a relay and battery feed last night for the fuel pump. It'll be getting whatever voltage the battery is getting now.
I still haven't checked the laptop but it is idling fine and has plenty of fuel up to just past 6k rpm after a bit of driving today.
I spose I'd better see how it goes on e85 soon.
Went for a drive today and it started going lean over 3500rpm.
I replaced the fuel filter and now it's good again.
I also bought some stuff to make a wiring harness for the fuel pump. I'll chuck that in when I get a chance.
So I replaced the fuel pump in my car with a walbro 460 yesterday and left it at that. Today I went for a drive and noticed that the car is running 11:1 vs the 12 and a bit:1 it was running before. Although I haven't had the laptop onto it yet it is still idling where is it supposed to be. This also gives me the option of running e85 at the drags and not worry about running out of fuel.
Today I replaced the coils with genuine ford items and took it for a drive. Previously the trans was popping out of gear and the dash was lighting up and losing the speedo. Now the trans shifts properly at WOT and appears to be working fine otherwise.
I also replaced some hotside ic piping and moved the pressure signal closer to the boost solenoid. It seems that it has helped quite a bit with boost spiking between gear changes.
Happy days.
It's Friday alright and cold as crap this morning.
I installed that fuel pump yesterday afternoon so I'll check the tune today and see if the idle trims are farked or not. It was idling fine yesterday so we'll see.
Most places will swap a box over for $500 or so. Call a wrecking yard as they do this stuff day in day out.
You can access various resources here for a small fee.
It's worth mentioning that the process for removing an auto trans hasn't changed much in the last 70 odd years.
Last but not least there is a pdf of a workshop manual floating around the internet if you don't like spending the 30ish dollars for the manual in the link I provided.
Eh nothing much man. No kids today (for about 6 hours) so I can get stuff done uninterrupted.
I'll get a couple of workouts in and do some housework. If the weather is nice enough I'll go and work on my car for a bit.
Yep it makes sense.
After the exhaust gas goes through the cat and various exhaust bends I doubt a 3 inch tip will be a restriction.
As hamster balls said the only way to know for sure will be a dyno comparison but that's a waste of money.
If it bothers you then swap it.
Happy birthday you old bastard.
Look on the bright side mate, at least you still have everything good that you had before plus your new house. Life might change but it's not always a bad thing unless it's a nappy but don't get me started on that
I gotchu fam
Mine wasn't connected last week cos it was raining in the morning even though the connection was supposed to take place in the afternoon when it happened to be dry. Then the dude reckoned he would come up later in the week and didn't. Now it is scheduled for next month when it'll probably be raining again.
I just bought genuine ignition coils from ford in victoria delivered express post for over $80 cheaper than a local dealer was asking for pickup.
I guess you mexicans are good for something after all
I was saving an unopened box of corn flakes from 2010 on top of my cupboard but the missus opened them and gave them to the kids the other day. I only had a few more years to wait for double digits!
