  1. They're still good right?! I'm farken gonna eat them either way!
  2. My theory is the iat got too high and exceeded the knock resistance of the fuel. It wouldn't take many knock events to do damage at that boost/power level. The iat got to 60C at 40psi which is fine but got up to 91C at 45psi which is not fine. Ironically the water meth would have probably saved it. I stopped running it cos it was getting into the tps and making the car shut down. To be fair as well, it could have just been too much for that particular stock bore. I calculated 1350hp at the crank last time at 38psi, how much is it making at 45psi? 1500? At any rate there's lessons to be learned and I'm happy to do so.
  3. I haven't run water meth for a number of weeks now, it wasn't on when it broke.
  4. I bought a new scan tool, it's pretty good.
  5. Yep well we just gotta wait and see, I'll keep yas updated, whenever that may be.
  6. Lol 2k doesn't even cover my lifters and roller rockers, but I get your drift. All I'm going to do for now is drain the water out of it so it stops leaking into the engine. When my new shed is up I'll pull it down for a closer look, but that's a few months away. I might get excited before then but unlikely.
  7. I have a 3 more blocks here I can use, so I should get them sonic tested to see which is best and use one of them. That coolant ingress you speak of is through the bore, at least it looks that way to me.
  8. I bought a new scan tool and with it came an endoscope. I had a look inside the bore of the hurt cylinder and to me it looks like I split the bore. I'll post a couple of pics and you all can tell me what you think.
  9. Edit, it's costing 89k all said and done. Haha looks like I wont be affording a new shop car but that's ok, cos shed
  10. I love it. There's probably some old overclocking boards out there, I might be able to run the chip at 3.4GHz or something lol. What I think I'll do sooner or later is upgrade the dyno pc with my current setup (4790k etc) and just get a new mobo, cpu and ram for my desktop. In other news the shed has been updated, the plan has been drawn up, the deposit has been paid and the council application will go in tomorrow. While I could afford the larger one and it would have fit, it was much too big to be reasonable lol...it would have been epic but not reasonable Here's a pic of the new version
  11. So rather than upgrade the dyno pc with something decent I'm merely upgrading the cpu from a core 2 E3400 to a core 2 Q9500. I'll even give it a a fresh 4gb of ddr2 800 to liven things up a bit. Haha very old tech but still a decent upgrade
  12. It's roughly $52,000 for the various options I've chosen. Without insulation and 5 electric roller doors I could save nearly 10k but fark that, it's stinking hot here in summer and I like doors
  13. So the shed design has changed slightly but not much, just changed the roof design to suit the shorter 8M span. I'm getting it re-quoted and from there I'll send a deposit and get things rolling. If I want it up this year the council will need to approve it almost immediately, so I'll go in there and ask them to do it lol. They either will or they wont, no harm in asking.
  14. It's Sunday, that's for sure. Looking forward to hearing more turbo noises this week 👉 👌
  15. @Typhoon it's a small world when it comes to 2k Barras bud I'll come say g'day at roll racing
  16. Things have been thinged and stuff has been stuffed, so now just gotta ask the question, get a thumbs up and farken send it. Lots of work ahead but it will be worth it.
  17. 5.5m at the lowest point, 7.83 at the highest. 5 roller doors, 2 3x3 at each end, 1x 4x4 in the middle and a side door for a person. That's the plan anyway, gotta get council approval then send it. Heh the shed will be nearly 2x the house, as it should be.
  18. Yep the guy had all but given up on his chances of having the car ready for racing. He already missed practice today but will be there for qualifying tomorrow morning. I'm getting a whole ass workshop installed and it's about time. Shed will be 8x18m, 4 post hoist that I currently own will be installed and I'll get a 2 post installed too. Move the dyno in there, move the tools in, move the tyre fitting stuff in, etc etc. I'm also gonna get a late model LS3 Caprice for a shop car so I can tune them too. Plenty of work involved with it all, just gonna send it and see how I go.
  19. Far out man finally sitting down to relax. V8 drift car in today, 5.4 from an FG into a BF ute and it had clutch issues. I tried a bleed but it didn't improve, so out with the old clutch and in with an Exedy Xtreme twin plate. Had a lot of waiting time for the customer to get parts, kinda sucks I live so far out but you get that. Got to installing it around 7pm and was done by around 11:30. The guy was over the moon, he's had a run of bad luck with his car this week and I made sure that stopped tonight! Also I can say is thank fark I won't have to work in the driveway for much longer
  20. I think the driveline is ok because the power comes in late and it spins tyres on the shift rather than dead hooking. I could fix it as is but I would rather wait cos 1, I cbf working on it right now and 2, I wanna do upgrades at the same time so may as well do it all at once.
  21. You get that custom made or is it available from a fab shop? That would look right at home in my VN and better yet can supply all the fuel for turbo shenanigans.
