  1. Just to be clear, that wasn't rushing in any way shape or form. If I was rushing I would have done it in 2 hours or less. And it's not like I haven't built several 1000hp+ engines before...
  2. That is an odd thing to say about a headgasket install.
  3. Well it's taken me exactly 3 hours to disassemble, clean and get the new head gasket fitted. I'll let it sit for an hour or so and check the torque again then put the rest of the sh*t back together. Should have it finished of this evening, maybe tomorrow morning depending on how farked I can be to work on it.
  4. Perhaps think about dropping the gate spring to 7psi and install a 4 port mac valve. I have 13psi of spring in mine and can run in excess of 40psi with only 25% duty. Granted my turbo is much bigger, but a 4 port will allow between 4 and 6 times the spring pressure and should give you the boost you desire. It's a bit harder to tune the boost control, but I've done it before with the stock pcm so I'm sure your tuner can get it sorted.
  5. Yep, unlike last time when I got bogged lol
  6. Head gasket arrived today, will fit it tomorrow to be ready for driving on Friday and racing on Saturday. Also picked up a couple of jerrys of E85, it's $2.17 at the pump but $3.20 at the tracks. I'll drive the car home on 98 though, just give it a quick tune at the servo and it'll be sorted.
  7. Went and picked up my tyres for the Landrover today, then fitted and balanced them at home after. This is the complete description for them, "Nankang 245/75R16 Nankang MT-1 120/116Q 3 PLY S/W 14.1MM". I had to bash my exhaust cos a rear tyre just clipped it, but other than that it was pretty standard stuff. Went for a test drive and it was nice and smooth, haha it's always like that with new tyres. Probably also helps that they are less than 12 months old, compared to the 14 yo tyres that came off it. Here's some pics cos we all like a pic
  8. I've started brewing beer again, I have a Cooper's pale ale and a dark ale all bottled, so about 60 longnecks in total. I've also put on an IPA which can be bottled tomorrow, another 30 bottles or so. Will be glad when the holidays are over and I don't have to drink beer every day
  9. Woohoo just ordered 5 of these for the Landrover, it'll be a real 4x4 now lol
  10. There's probably something in here for you Falcon-2008-Engine-Service-Manual.pdf
  11. Cheap head gasket says no. It leaked a bit on the dyno, leaked a whole lot more yesterday and blew up the radiator today. Athena gasket is getting express couriered and will swap it out before the weekend. Ha just when I thought I didn't have to swing a spanner for a while.
  12. Good job on the transformation Dani, there was clearly a lot of work put into it.
  13. Accidentally made 44.3psi today, car went vroom, then turned it down. The end.
  14. Fitted a light bar to my boat last night and took the boat out tonight with a mate. The light bar needs adjusting and I might replace it with a bigger one. It looked good in the driveway but not so much on the water. Was an interesting experience, slightly hectic due to big swell and poor visibility but will take it on board, hurhurhur, and go again next time with upgrades
  15. Having fresh meat is the main part of fishing or hunting, spending time with friends is as important. Haha I prefer to be alone but people are ok lol
  16. Hey if it works then good stuff. Buy a welder too lol
  17. Yep I've always liked being outdoors, camping and fishing etc. I'm not as partial to the killing and skinning of animals, but it's part of life as a meat eater. If I can buy it from the shop, I can get my knife out and do it myself. It gives you more empathy towards life I think. Plus it's a day out on the boat with family and friends which is nice.
  18. It's that for eating dinner in front of the telly? You should buy a gasless mig welder. You could fix some RHS to that and it would be solid as.
  19. In other news... I said to the missus that we should go fishing and she said we can't cos we don't have a light on our boat. Cue finding led light bar with fog and spot lights, making brackets, sorting wiring, install into boat and farken violin, I now have a farken sick light on my boat. Happy days and looking forward to some night fishing
  20. I've bought an oil cooler for it, will fit it up when it arrives in the next day or two. I really ought to put it on the dyno too, I'll organise it and get it done.
  21. The closest thing to can bus the 4x4 has is a tin of VB in the centre console
  22. How's this for some bullsh*t... The 4x4 decided to stop flashing the right rear indicator and instead flash the taillight globe, also with no brake light on that side. Take it all apart, check wiring, "fix" wiring, put it back together exactly the same after wiring checks out, cars fixed. Literally did nothing to change it except waste half an hour "fixing" it. Fml
  23. Yep not too bad. We'll see how the rest of it goes as I turn it up again bit by bit.
