  2. funny didnt know the sold fpv's in the united states bloody scammers, who would fall for this. I email a guy who had a 2005 xrt for less than 10 k, aparently he had imported it into the uk, couldnt register it so he had exported it back to sell it. scammers
  3. prob been said tones of times but id loved to see a 4wd F6 at the open day would have to loose a s**t load of weight though!
  4. just had a look at the website, aparently there is an 'exclusive' look at the new fpv concept car, is that the fpv drift car?
  5. Pelican, knowing people who work int he industry, ford staff do do this for friends and family, its all about who you know. I say if you can find a mate who trusts you to pay speed fines etc.. go for it. Another point you will have to remeber is the stamp duty, on a 50k+ car it will be a killer!
  6. prob a stupid question I know.... when getting these inspections done, what is involved ina compression test, how do the test the cylinders without taking the head off got an RACV report done on a car... they could tell me that seatbelts were not fraying... missed head gasket leaking, buggered rotars and cut springs

  10. A 2003 xr6 turbo was recently advertised on ebay for a buy it now price of $7200. Thinking it was a scam I emailed just to see. He replied about it below, which sounds even more bizarre. Currently there is a black xr6 turbo being sold by a member from Germany with a buy it now of 8000… It MUST be a scam, not that Id ever fall for it, people should be wary. Has anybody heard about new ebay car scams? “ Hello there and thanks for your interest. The car is in excellent condition .No scratches or any kind of damage. It has a clear title. If you are interested in buying it the price is $7,200 Aud. The car will be shipped from United Kingdom , on my expense and will be delivered directly to your door in 9-10 days.I will pay the shipping fees. The car will be insured at the shipping company for the transport. All documents, including owner's manual, clear title and a bill of sale on your name will be provided along with the car. The car is still Australia registered so you will not have to pay any custom taxes. The transaction will be made under eBay's buyer protection plan for our own safety. Your funds will be 100% insured by eBay and I will be sure that I will receive the payment. You will have 15 days from the time you receive the car to inspect it and decide if you want to keep it or not. If you are interested in buying it please provide me your full name and address so I can initiate the deal through eBay. I'm a serious seller and a fair trader and I prefer to deal only with a serious buyer. I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks ”
  11. the tx3's are still a gret car for somebody on a budget wanting turbo fun or for a first car. AWD and turbocharging, plus the power output is pretty low. had a boosted clubsprint capri (which was front wheel drive ) which weighed about 300 kg less and was a real lot of fun to drive. Put out a whopping 98KW at the wheels, but it onyl weight about 1150 kg's I always wanted to put a capri body on a tx3 chassy, engine running gear. AWD convertible fun!!!! dont know of any other convertible car with AWD and turbocharging. think the floor pan was different though and it would be a bugger to insure
  12. mate that is pretty sh*te, hell I was having a whinge when ford started to no longer stock parts for a 10 yo car.
  13. it was a pretty awesme days, there were plenty of xr6's T's and fpv's to have a look at. Clearly it was the biggest year I have every been to. We were there for several hours and still didnt see all the cars did anybody hear of an afficial total of all cars.
  14. its seems a very common theme from any new cars owners who take their rides back to their dealer (not just fords) for service / waranty repairs they always seem to get a total run around. After getting the cr back the issue is never resolved....... is this the case?? is anybody actually happy with their delaers service??
  15. been reading some of everybodies times, they are very impressive remembering the car ways over 1700 kgs!! I see everybody has modded cars here, and yeah I know it all depends on driver, weather contidions, track quality etc.... but what have peopl;e generally done and mechannically standard xr6 turbos?? manual auto and 6 speed auto if anybody has tried yet.. spanx
  16. Thanks for the massive welcome guys its great!! Maybe you should buy Adams 9 second car? id love to buy adams car it seems like a bloody bargin, I just dont feel like dying behind the wheel just yet I have had a black car before as well and they are a b**ch to keep clean, you polish them drive them into the shed and they are bl**dy dirty again Also saw a very cool idea in the xr6 turbo special street fods mag, I guy had turned his ICC display screen into a tv screen using a blapunkt signal converter. very cool and it would lso look standard!
  17. Wouldnt doing this ocassionally put a hell of a lot of strain on the auto gearbox raving the bugger with the brake on?
  18. goldie bring on the heckeling to the newbie!!! Ill be buying second has so my optnios are pretty limited. Wish list Would love to have a sun roof and premium brakes, not too fussed about premium sound, low kms as possible, 6 speed auto. Colour (yeah I know they are BF colours, they they different to BA's) the BA version of either shockwave, bionic, Vixen, Menace, fantasy. unmoodded Due to budget most likely.. 4 speed auto any colour as long as its non off the dull dark colours and anything citrisy colour.
  19. Hey everybody, just new member saying hi, I have been watching post for a few days so I thought id join... im currently saving for a xr6 turbo, Ive always been a ford man, I have restored an old 2 door mk1 Cortina (see my profile pic) which I have sold, I have also owned a and modded turbocharged black Clubsprint Capri (yea I know its a girls car ) which really introduced me into turbocharging cars. I was thinking about going down the usual Jap path (thing about a black Mr2 import) which I also wanted to modify. These jap cars just seem to cost a fortune to modd. Tell me if im wrong, but to seem to get any real power out of the you have to boost the buggery out of them, buy bigger turbos, intercoolers etc (that's not even considering touching engine internals) and its all top end power with magor lag. so I have turned back to my roots and decided to buy an Xr6 turbo!!!!!!!! Have just been loking at a few kits etc and high power gains seem pretty exciting. Just a quick question, did any BA mk 2's ever come up the 6 speed auto, or is it just the BF's becasue I would prefer the auto becuase im a bit of a clutch dumper (went through 3 geard boxes in my mk1) and clearly the BA's will eb cheaper. that's about it ,just me saying hi! Sorry about the Long email Anybody from VIC going to the all ford day this Sunday in Geelong?? http://www.allfordday.org/ Cheers, Nick
