  1. time to give the xr6t a polish and wax, going to move to the autoglym products. thinkibg about ulta deep shine or super resin polish and the aqua wax. not really sure what I should be using though so which particular polish and waa do ppl reccomend?
  2. just noticed this thread, im really impressed. Although is is prob impossible, I would love to see touch screen integration syncing back to the iphone. top job, I love it
  3. ford & police have found no issues with the explorer No sign of cruise-control faults this guy is clearly a stooge, love the photo's of him being strechered off the scene and of him in a wheel chair.
  4. found a nice walkthrough with pics on how to do it on a teritory with 4 speed auto. Cant imagtino the 6 speed auto or manuals could be that different. its about half way down posted by grahill Australian Ford Forums - Ford Territory and Mp3's
  5. from the BF's do all xr6's have DSC or do they just have traction control and DSC was some sort of option?
  6. thanks for the comments everyon, will giev the autoglym interior cleaner a go
  7. do exactly the same. I worries me everytime I see people scrubbing nice and hard with the provided foam brush whilst standing in HUGE piles of mud which somebody has just cleaned off their bush basher using the bloody brush. scary
  8. just wondering what people use for both the cloth areas as well as the palstic areas to clean and protect. Although the iphone does not pick them up well I have a few small marks I would love to remove, the shyte me off everytime I get in the car. I tried the Armourall interior protection wipes which I could leave in the car and they were absolute poo. They left a sticky feeling all over the dash and the dash now all dust acutally sitcks to the dash and its even harder to clean. Lucky I tried it on the wifes car first
  9. thx james would be great to see a photo if its not too much effort, sounds like a great spot nice and close to the power source and you really dont have to spend too much time actually lookign at the unit!!
  10. where does everybody place their external GPS units? Got a nice xl 340 tom tom for chrissy but cant seem to find a appropiate place on the windscreen considering on long trips I will have to power it via the cigarette adaptor. CNET Australia - For A World Gone Digital where have people placed them on their wind screens or have you got a crade near the ciggarette adaptor? thanks
  11. Thommo, just on carsales always a risk looking interstate, got the car checked by the SA equiv of RACV check (cant remember then name of them) all seem quite checked out the car and drive it home. It was a real nice way to geta feel for the car, driving it about 800kms
  12. just a note as well, I paid $24800 for a bf2 turbo Dec 06 build with 34000kms which is pretty much stock except for premium sound and the awesome zf 6 speed auto. I did wait 8 months for a car, I was in no rush, not overly concerned about colour I was more interested in low kms. I also had to travel interstate for it.
  13. funny, my bf2 has done 45k on the clock and I have just had both powersteering pump and one of the pulleys replaced under waranty due to noise. not sure how common this is though...
  14. Does anybody have any real life expierences of the differences between the NA falcon 4 speed and 6 speed. I have the 6 speed on my xr6t and love the box, im just wondering if it is worth the extra cash in terms of fuel usage.
  15. troubl3 you have a manual right?
  16. thx for the replies,as they say there are no stupid questions just stupid people
  17. Guys think im being rolled on warranty, Im putting the car in for a few warranty jobs next wednesday, one issue I have started to have in the heat is that the front drivers window when going down makes a rubbing/squeeling sound when it hits a certain point. Obviously its just somehthing rubbing on it, but over time will will prob scratch the window and it annoys me every time I wind it down. spoke for my ford dealer, they are replacing a few parts with no issues but they says its wear and tear, not covered by warranty. Im reckon I already know the answer but I think they should fix the issue, am I right? Sure there is not too much work in pulling the door skin off for a bit of a look see but it all comes down to why I have a warranty at all! told you all its was a stupid quesiton... sorry!
  18. sorry to hijack, I know you can set a speed limit alarm, how do you check to see if it has been over the alarm? taking mine in to a dealrer on tues for warranty work.....taking photos of every panel and the km's it has travelled when it hits ford!
  19. thanks for the thoughts. Like the idea of dedicated gas over a dual fuel option so we dont loose any room in the boot, will have a look at the mazda 6's. We get about 480 out of our work ute which is flogged, I know taxis drivers drive them harder though. same car colours are so cool, only if we wear matching same colout 80's parachute material jumpsuits though.....
  20. thinking about buying a bf falcon for the wife. With the 4 speed auto I know they are not the most fuel efficient cars. so looking for a dedicated gas falcon. I have seen a nice car for approx 14k drive away with about 80,000 kms (only down side it that fact that it is the EXACT same colourr as my bf2 xr6t. Does anybody know the general life of the dedicated gas cars, I know a looked after falcon petrol motor will easyily last 250,000kms with few issues. drove a work dedicatedgas ute yesterday which has had the sh*t flogged out of its, seems to still have a decent amount of power and torque. Any other thoughts on the dedicated gas cars would be good, any good or bad points about them would be appreciated!!
  21. no he is deaming, would be prob worth it in 20 years maybe. I doubt even current models will be worth as much as old 70's muscle cars are now. I thought the mulsce cars are worth what they are due to the rarity and image they have. The muscle cars people get good money for now are cars which were actually raced at Bathurst etc rather than the current racecars now adays. The only thing current v8 racecars share with the showroom model is the 'badge'. Its also people who loved these cars when they wre young and now may be lucky enough to afford these cars now. Back in the day there mainly was only Ford or Expensive Daewoo for the masses, now there is all jap and euro cars for kids to get excisted about. I think the only thing which may add value to the latest models is the possible end of the aussie made engines.
  22. sorry guys may be a stupid question but id love any answers
  23. My 2006 bf2 is out of warranty in two months first car I have owned which still has a manufactures warranty. Im taking it to my mechanic to get checked over tomorrow before booking it in for warranty work at my local dealer in Geelong. I have heard some people get shafted when getting work done and I want to at least look like I know what im talking about, so what is the process to get warranty work done? Im guessing I just ring up and ask to have it booked in for warranty work, when I drop it off with a list do they say what is covered is not covered by warranty work? Do I also tell them they have to call me before getting any additional work done?
  24. bit steep for the overall condition of the car. I paid approx the same for a dec 06 with premium sound and 34,xxx kms. Have you had it RACV chekced (or by a similar company), they are pretty good at picking up previous accidents. Autions are always cheaper but there is always the level of risk that comes with buying at auctions including the cost or rwc, rego etc (dotn thik it comes with one in auctions in melb). if your in no rush like you said a fg xr6t would be sweet
  25. 89 laser wagon, asweme little car
