I actually bought a crapper VT Late model camira wagon (didnt like the AU wagons) to put the surfboards, dog, do towing in and go camping in. I could not believe the what the insurance ,was it was close to what I was paying for x6t worth almost 4 times as much! being a wagon I thought it was loose the bogan commowhore vibe, I was wrong!

Just had a look on carsales at some cheap Xr6 turbo's, there are a few BA's around the 11-12k mark, very soon these cars will be under the 10k mark. Being a powerful and cheap car, how long is it before these cars become the next bogan cars(if they are not already!)? Can see more bogans in xr6t's speeding, doing burnouts, agressively tailgating etc and crashes, writeoff's, stolen cars and insurance premiums going up!

I had a different issue, when rear demister turned on, the radio reception would disapear. Ford could not work out why it was happeneing, so replaced the entire windscreen under warranty. Luck y for me becuase apparently it would have cost approx 800 to get Ford to replace it!

hey mate, did the same thing before my warranty expired. I was reccomend booking the car in with ford ASAP, it is nice to have a few weels up your sleeve, just incase they try to give you the run around. Get your caar cheked out by a professional (other than Ford)that you can trust for an honest opinion on what needs to be fixed before warratny is out. Here is soem stuff I got replaced on my BF, know power steering punmp seems to be a common issue. o Power steering pump leaking, had this fixed on two BF’s o Timing cover seals leaks o Movement in front suspension L/H lower ball joint movement, replace ball joint o Exhaust resonator split at rear o Radio – when on FM turn on rear demister radio crackles, looses signal is unusable o Interior - Silver inserts on door handle/arm bubbling on left and right front door. o Window auto stopped working o Replaced belt pulley due to rooted bearing making loud noises o Front rotors need to be machined

A Ford delaer actually denied one of my claims twice just before warranty ended, I think they were hoping for me to put iit into the 'too hard basket'. Made me jump through all sorts hoops stating car had not been serived regulary even though it had been serviced via a Ford dealer. Although they finally agreeded to fix issue (after warranty date had ended) I documented every conversation and started recoding them on my iphone. I got audio of the dealer agreeing that ford should fix it but never had to use it. -
This happened to my wifes BF2 falcon just two days ago, second falcon we have owned to do this :(

I had a similar issue where my lights would work intermittently, intertor lights would turn on but I got no head lights, play the the switch and they would finally turn on. Then they died all together. Aparrently it is a common issue on the BF's is that the wiring look is too short to the arm which contrls the lights and over time they just break off. Ford wanted 550 (just for the part) to replace the whole arm, took it to a sparky who fixed it for 80 dollars. For had about 40 of them in stock at my dealer, so it must be a known issue they commonly fix.

Hello and welcome, Nice looking car. Although I have not modded my old Xr6 turbo but itis starting to get up on the km's and are not very techinal and I am sure more people will be able to give you better advice, but nobody has really replied yet so. - I thought turbo''s genrally had a life of about 160,000kms. - With the higher km's I would be looking for a full genuine service history - Make sure the car is actually roadworthy, witht he pod filter I would have thought it would not be roadworthy. - The 4 speed auto's are not as strong as the 6 speeds and quite a few people here have broken them running higher power (generally over 30rwkw's) - With a custom if possible putting it on a dyno and get a professional to check it the custom tune. I actually like the look of the wheels (not that xrt6t was asking sbooker)

Feel your pain scottay, the build quality of these cars is now shyte I would have to say I am a Ford man, the majority of cars I have owned in the last 15 years have been Fords, my father worked there for 28 years. Sadly, I don’t think I will ever buy a newer ford falcon, I would struggle to buy any other ford really. Between such poor quality build, parts and the terrible terrible service you get not only from Dealers but also Ford customer service as well. Issues I have had with my fully serviced 50,000km XR6 turbo replaced under warranty plus some other goodies • Power steering pump replaced • Window auto stopped working • Replaced belt pulley due to rooted bearing making loud noises • Dash lights and headlights fail when switched on • Front rotors need to be machined and had aftermarket brakes put on due to bad break shudder under braking • Every time it got hot in the car, silver inserts on handles on back doors fell off. GRRRRR • Dash creaks And the wife’s falcon BF2 is no better. Here is a list of warranty issues I had to get resolved on a car with 58,00kms and a full service history. o Rubber Mould new L/H mirror not fitted correctly o Power steering pump leaking – replaced o Oil leak front engine area – turned out to be a seal on timing cover. o Movement in front suspension L/H lower ball joint movement o Exhaust resonator split at rear o Starting, when turned over engine has trouble starting or starts and then dies o Radio – when on FM turn on rear demister radio crackles, looses signal is unusable o Interior - Silver inserts on door handle/arm bubbling on left and right front door. o Hand brake re adjusting twice! 3 months for ford to resolve the above, inc just under 3 months to get in a new rear windscreen and for no reason for Ford rejecting the claim TIWCE to fix oil leaks. All fixed in the end, I started recording phone calls with Ford, dealers etc as proof if they didn’t cough up. Sorry for the long email and rant but I am bitterly disappointed in the experience of owning a modern Ford and as a die hard ford fan, would not buy a ford again.

I think it is too expensive, the main reason people will adopt the new technology will be to save $$, not save the environment. People have taken up gas on cars becuase it used to cost about 1/4 of the price of petrol. It cost 30 less than regular petrol $1 a litre vs $1.30 a litre(inflated figures, pertrol in geelong on the cheaper days is now always under $1.20. It burns 15% more and 'motorists should come out ahead' Maybe as more retailers sell it, it will get cheaper but I doubt it.

I have this issue with my wifes n/a. Got my car serviced yesterday, aparently this issue is not that common but the only fix Ford offered is to replace the whole windshield. I spoke to the 'service advisor' and he said there was a broken connection somewhere? when I asked for more detail he couldnt tell me any more, he was just reading notes from the mechanics. Too bad he couldnt provide more info on it, if you car is still under warranty, they should replace the rear windscreen

not sure if it two seperate leaks or just both fromt he same area, will keep you posted. Must be a common issue sthough, I had my power steering pump replaced on my bf xr6t due to it leaking.

really that's the least of my problems, im suprised the amount of issue switht he car considering its less than 3 years old and only has done 60,000k's o Rubber Mould new L/H mirror not fitted correctly o Power steering pump leaking best viewed from underneath car o Oil leak front engine area best viewed from under car , head gaskets on both sides of engine show signs of oil leakage o Movement in front suspension L/H lower ball joint movement o Exhaust resonator split at rear o Radio when on FM turn on rear demister radio crackles, looses signal is unusable will be an interesting chat with them, im worried about the oil leak, its currently a small one but it will only get bigger. no real signs of a blown head gasket.
