I have a series 1 BF, and I have only one light for DSC/TC. Pressing and holding makes the DSC/TC light flash but I haven't been able to verify what this means. Maybe if I get the car onto a skid pan ......

Well, got the car back with a new trans and cooler. Power Ford have never heard of this happening with the ZF box previously. Here's hoping it is a isolated case.

T/C in the BF does a whole bunch of stuff, pulls timing, applies brake and finally closes the throttle plate.

I get the same ... it's as though you have opened the boot before turning the alarm off, and the alarm is telling you that it has triggered.

Nope, turns out the cooler on the block has ruptured mixing trans fluid and coolant. New trans and cooler go in tomorrow.

Looks as though my trans is shot. 35000km on a stocker, the thing feels like it is trying to lock the torque convertor, but then unlocks about once per second. Still under warranty and it's at the dealers now. Be interesting to see what they tell me.

I'd guess that the computer in the ZF is reading an unexpected variance in the input shaft speed compared to the output shaft speed and trying tro compensate for it.

I know this sounds cynical - but I seriously doubt that the software in the ZF trans has been cracked. If I were a betting man I'd bet pounds to peanuts that it's the TCM they are referring to.

What a top idea .. the only thing I would add is if a series like this was to ever get a hope of running, it would have to cost either the same or less to run than the current cars. Ford have already indicated that they are intending to reduce the expenditure in the Supercar series, and in the good ole days of Group A racing, the costs were on par (in raw dollars) with the current expenditure (ie: a 2-car team costs $1 million to run now, back in the Group A days, it was $1 million back then)
