Coil packs fail because of heat guys not power, keep em cool and they will last, same as big capacitors, basically all electronic gear will fail at some time if it overheats, ie your computer , these days it not uncommon for most pc's to have a few fans in them to keep em cool.. if you figure out how to suck the hot air out from that badly designed garnish they will last a sh*t load longer.. pete

As ETM said ...If you cut a bit off the reo it will look like this about 5-7mm from each edge of it And I used some of Chris RAPIDS Pipes up to the throttle body from the cooler and used bits and pieces from the old hybrid set up.. the hybrid coolers do what they have too. , its the perfect cooler for my setup, as run an engine oil cooler above it, which let me retain the washer bottle, the cooler gets direct airflow to over 95% of it and oil cooler does as well, the Reo actually stops about 30- 40% of direct airflow with a lot other coolers on the market ... bigger is not always better in my opinion. and this hybrid cooler way out performers its predecessor ( I had the old Hybrid set-up on it before) the old one made about 330 17-15 psi and this setup makes 340 15-14 psi on the CV tune and 375 on 18 with the HPF tune with the AFR's dunking in to the high 11's right up top on both tunes .. time after time . Mate gap your plugs first of all try .75 , get your car on a dyno and check you air/fuel ratio asap, you would want it around the 12's to 1 area, If you continue having problems im sure if you email or call a reputable tuner here in OZ they can steer you in the right direction, all the tuners on this site have obtained awesome results with these engines over the last 5-6 years, these guys can organize a mail order type tune with the flash tune device ( not sure what you have over there) you mention CAPA , who used too distribute the ford flash tuner . what do you have there ?????? U mail the box which holds 3 tunes and the tunes will be loaded into it, provided you give a accurate list of mods injector type, exhuast , ect, ect, just keep away from a tuner located in castle hill sydney you might end up with a grenade, CV performane in taren point sydney is the way I would go, or you might even ask your tuner to talk to them direct ! in the mean time look around the site there is heaps of info on here ! good luck Pete

Why would it be be illegal to crack the software tab ? the software has been copyrighted against copying not for making the software that the tuners have paid for already work......The action SCT has taken .... is that Legal !!! They have basically ripped off the consumer , I say who ever has got knowledge to do it go ahead and offer it to the tuners that are going to suffer because of it, they will probably even reimburse you for your time. Some back in your face type sh*t ! why should people lose hundreds and even thousands because of some back end bullsh*t !!!! my 2c worth

If your aiming for 350, I would not look past the option 5 mal wood unit, I had the extreme in it , the biggest POS out, shuddering and not very friendly, If someone told you you can Machine the flywheel he is as much of nob for that as he is for trying to sell the extreme unit to you, the BA flywheel is a flexplate with a plate bolted to it that is prone to warping. good luck if you go this way ! the tex clutch will hold the power . but after having a feel of the pedal, I was rapt that I got the twin plate option 5 unit off Mal, plus when the Mal wood starts slipping, it will only cost about 4 -5 hung for a rebuild with the option 3 , it might be a bit of a gamble after 350rwkw ... but that's my opinion. the AP is a top unit but very exxy ! there is also the CI (clutch industries) twin plate but I have mixed stuff on that some say not bad some say POS My Advise choose carefully, cause it will make your car into a dog to drive if you get it wrong ! pete

  12. Ring Mal Wood automotive , he has them it is about half the price and its alloy. I have been also advised the Expensive Daewoo T56 CSC will bolt straight up and is the alloy equivilent to the ford one, maybe a Expensive Daewoo wrecker or something of the like might be able to help you ! Pete

It sounds like a similar problem to what I had, lower trailing arm bushes were the culprit, after almost replacing everything but ! the bushes are located on the actual hub assy and are are pivot style bush, with no load on them you cant tell there rooted, twisting the lower trailing arm while the car is in the air might make it evident, but that depends on how rooted they are . Your steering shudder is air in the line, because Ford service rotated your steering whilst the car was in the air just turn it lock to lock a few times to get the air out and then release the air from the pump by removing the cap . Another example of fraud service returning your car without doing Jack F$%# All to it ! Pedders done my bushes, with me removing the hubs for 250 fiited they need to be pressed in and out, If you have warranty get fraud to attempt it . good luck Pete Pete

  18. No, I do mean engine oil cooler , mine's a manual so I got no tranny cooler, some pipes do have to be bent and ill try and find some pics and post them later on. pete
  19. Is that me biatch.. Its a really good setup, but mine is mixed and matched with a bit of rapids gear, the only bit I use is the actual cooler which is perfect for my setup as it allows me the mount my engine oil cooler easily above it ! Pete
  20. mate get over it !!!, the apprentice putting fuel in! that is unheard of.... good on him ....YOU are lucky IF he did not Cain the f*ck out of it... You say the car is bog stock if so don't worry about it, put some 98 in all it will be fine and it will be like before. the knock sensors do good job of determining how much timing to pull out on a factory tune if it did ping with ethanol blend! ethanol aint as bad you think ... shell 100 was 5% ethanol blend .. supposedly the best fuel out of a pump ! provided you have a tune to suit . pete
  21. Mate I would not be looking at a gearbox repairer just yet, But Mal Wood knows these boxes inside out ! These boxes are pretty tough, plus by what you have described, the actual gearbox can't cause your issue I use Nulon dot 4 fluid.. the thing is not forget to flush more often than not, 6-12 months or after a track day, because of where the standard clutch line runs it cops a sh*t load of heat from the dump, turbo amd manifold this causes it to turn to sludge making it harder to do its job when having to push the CSC to disengage the clutch! While your there replace your gearbox oil with Castrol Transmax Z 4L of it is enough I put 4.5 to help with rollover noise , this oil will greatly improve your shifts .. failing the basics your concentric slave cylinder CSC is rooted, but they usually leak when they are ! Mate for the best T56 package get yourself a Mal Wood clutch fluid line and remote bleed line and his spec shifter it will transform your gearbox, to top it off get one of his clutches Too. Pete
  22. Replace and bleed your clutch fluid first, the fluid has a tendency to get very mucky and will cause bad clutch operation !
