  1. DAM!! That was fast. Thanks so much for that. Will replace tonight. Umm... where would I get the whole copy of that service manual LOL!!
  2. Hi there guys, I was just wondering if anyone has replaced the horn in their xr6's before? I've just purchased a new low pitch (factory replacement) horn and took a quick look at the setup (and I do mean a quick look). Do you think I have to pull the whole front bar off? Or is it an easier job.... Thanks Stevo hey check this out - yes yes it's me and I'm a proud xr6turbo owner LOL!! Xtc51ojsVDI&rel=1
  3. I'd love to know how too... can you please fill me in? Thanks Stevo
  4. thanks for the msg IH8TOADS..... still waiting for my loan to be approved so that I can afford to pay for this turbo I gotta fix :(
  5. I guess the first noise I first noticed was after I turned off my car I'd hear a slight grinding sound as you said below. And then in the last week and a half that grinding sound got quite a bit louder, and then I even started hearing it when I turned on my car. The about a week ago my car stopped boosting up and I drove it home from where I was and drove it once more for like 10km at da most, and I guess the bearing must have got off centered and caused the wheel to become off centered and now it sounds like a high pitch grinding sound when I drive the car and when it boosts up. My advise is change your oil guys after 5k, not after 15000k. I changed mine at around 17k, but that was enough for the damage to be done.....and now I'm searching for a turbo... Stevo
  6. hey not sure if I pm'd you properly, but my email is stevenpelham@gmail.com thanks Robin
  7. I think the wheels are damaged, they said it's pretty bad in there, a lot of scraping noises hey...
  8. Yeah that's what scared the crap outta me, cuz I'd serviced it at 15,000k also. I just got a bit lazy cuz I always dropped oil out at 5k, but you know kids and stuff, work busy busy.... Word of advice, don't neglect these cars at all and drop that oil every 5k....
  9. thanks for the msg JTXR6T. So you think I might be able to recondition my turbo?
  10. hi guys, well just had a service on my car purely because I thought the bearing were making a strange sound on my turbo, and was just given the bad news that my turbo is goooone. so I'm sitting here totally friggen depressed and upset cuz they're around $3500 ex gst new from ford (that's in Cairns, QLD of course), and well I really don't know what to do now. Can I ask if anyone has a turbo for sale to suit the 2003 BA Turbo Sedan? (I'm assuming the turbos are the same across all models, but don't quote me on that). Or does anyone know of a good reputable wrecking yard that might have a turbo for sale to suit my model xr6t? I'm gonna have to take out a loan by the looks of things to fix this problem. Mechanics told me that because the oil wasn't changed soon enough, that the turbo shares the engine oil and hence the dirty oil collapsed the bearings and then the impellor has collapsed and it's basically grinding away. The mechanic said you could get away with driving home for now, but he reckons small particles could fracture off, pass through the intercooler and blow the engine. Bloody hell, I'm already stressed as it is, and now this..... ah man (sob sob sob)..... Any help at this time would be really greatly appreciated. Thanks guys Stevo P.S. Please feel free to msg through your condolence messages to 0424 141 030 or any points of advise....
  11. dam dude how come u had so many xr6t's??
  12. Ah thanks guys for your replies, I've booked it in for service on Friday, just wondering if I shouldn't drive it?? Stevo
  13. Hi there guys, So friday night I noticed a dramatic drop in my boost, and also noticed that the turbo when on boost is a lot louder than normal, kinda sounds like a supercharger if anything. Once I turned off engine I also noticed like a slight 'bearing' wear sound, kind of like metal on metal sound. Do you think my turbo is gone? Any ideas? Regards Stevo
  14. thanks guys.. getting it off now.. no screwdriver though, figured out this cheap filter spanner....
  15. tried the filter spanner but friggen ford locked this bastard down!!!!
