Hi All. Its probably best I set a few things straight because I don't want you guys starting to give Ford dealers to much of a hard time just in case you think that's where I got my car from ... Even though I feel really hard done by because of all this, I want to give the dealership one more try at putting this right. Yeah - maybe I am too nice but ... Here are the facts so you can all judge for yourselves .... Firstly, no one crashed my car. It was however driven up / down a steep driveway and the front spoiler / airdam took a hit. My problem with this was that who ever did it must have known they damaged the car but didn't tell me (or anyone else !!!). It was left for me to find it when I took delivery of the car or to find it later and think that maybe me or my loverly wife did it (and have to fix it myself !!!). that's not really too honest in my books ... Secondly, there was also a paint defect on one of the front quarter panels which I found and they agreed to fix. When I picked the car up the dealer had kept it 2 days longer than planned (hoping that the tow pack and reverse sensors would arrive for fitting which they didn't) so you would think that they could at least make sure it was detailed property ... Apparently not !!! I don't think it was detailed at all to be honest. I reckon the detail guy picked the car up, saw it was reasonable clean then went for a drive for 26 km's (the difference in the kilometres since I deposited the car and when I picked it up ...) and damaged the car then. that's just my theory though. I can't prove it I just think that 26 kilometres is far to many k's for a detail and service to do a pre-delivery on it. That does include a road test mind you but 26km's ??? I'm not so sure about that. The bonnet had virtually no colour on the engine side (looks like it hadn't ever been colour sprayed - only undercoat existed) and the rocker cover had somehow been damaged also. It had scratches all over it ? Again, the dealer agreed to rectify these issues. I completed the inspection on the car and took delivery making lots of notes with the sales man and having all my grievence points recorded on a form and signed by the saleman stating these were all to be fixed at the first service. I didn't want to make an arse of myself and trusted that when I returned with the car in 10 days these would all be fixed. Whilst away, the battery collapsed (a cell at least ...) leaving myself, my wife and our 3.5 month old child stuck on the side of the road in 37 degree heat for 90 minutes whilst we waited for the so called road side assistance that never turned up ... But that is another story completely .... Returning from our trip away, I returned to the dealer with the car and they promptly replaced the battery and started work on fixing the front bar and installing the tow pack and reverse park sensors. In trying to install the tow bar and reverse park sensors they scratched the rear bar and the person responsible for attempting to cut the hole in the rear bar for the towbar tongue must have done it using a banana for a straight edge and a blunt spoon to do the cutting. Needless to say I could have parked another falcon in the gap between the towbar and what was left of the rear bar & I would have been lucky to fit a cigarette paper in the gap on the other side of the towbar. OK - this is slightly over stated... I could fit my thumb in the gap on one side but I could fit even my smallest finger in the gap on the other side. Not what I would call a quality job !!! Obviously I expressed my concern about this 'fix' and I was assured that it would now also be rectified ... I left the car with them on the 11th of January and other than dropping in to pick up my sunglasses 3 days after I dropped the car off (and noticed the crevis in my rear bar) I hadn't seen the car until today when I turned up looking for answers as to why I STILL haven't gotten my car back. They took me to the Paint shop to see where my car was (in bits ...) and when I returned to the dealership I went to speak to the sales manager once more. Feeling rather hard done by and completely frustrated with the whole thing I basically suggested 3 things to rectify the problem ... 1). I'd like my money back thankyou very much ... 2). You can give me a NEW car, cause this one obviously isnt one now is it !!! 3). You can give me a % of my money back consistent with a car that wasn't new, its not fair I paid for a new car when this one obviously isn't ... No surprises that the sales manager tried to talk me down asking me to leave it with him and he would organise something for me and call me Tuesday after he returns from his long weekend ? He said something like "your not the only one put out as I haven't been able to sell the XR6 we gave you to drive around in whilst we fixed your car" ... Pardon ??? I believe I have been more than reasonable to date seeing that in the whole time I have received only 2 phone calls from the dealership to tell me how things were progressing. This only after I complained that they were telling me nothing ! So, I hope that straighten's up a few things and answered most of your questions. Hey, maybe I have blown this all out of proportion just because I feel hard done by. I don't know. One thing I do know is I wish I never walked into that show room ... Cheers for all the comments and help guys. If I ever get this sorted I will look forward to a cruise and the asociated meet and great. If after next week I am not satified with the outcome then I may turn into Darren Hinch and then SHAME SHAME SHAME !!!! SOrry for the length of this post ... Bye for now. Mortoy -> I shortened this out of respect for my missing toy ...
