  1. IIRC, major services are every 45,000kms.
  2. Ooooh, nice. That duco looks deep enough to swim in. Has it been re-sprayed or just lovingly bathed?

    Choices ?

Depends what you can pick an XR6T up for and how you want it optioned. An XR6T with just the luxury pack is close to $50k, and still misses out on some of the lux items in the G6ET. If it was my coin, I'd go the G6ET for $50k - you can always mod the suspension later if it's not sporty enough. Unfortunately, the only Ford dealer up here wants about $55k just for their stock demo so I'm leaning towards a Clubsport for similar money.
  4. Farkinbang If you're in FNQ, we've got an '04 BA XR6T for sale soon. It's Vibe, auto, mechanically stock as the day she rolled out of the factory. Our lease expires this week after 4 years and 90k kms, and it still has 1 years worth of factory warranty left. Will be advertised for $19k
  5. Was that a 6.0l or the 6.2l? I see they've got a white R8 advertised as the update model, but the boot badge says 307.
  6. John, Did you end up getting an F6? If so, did they come down to $57k The lease on my BA T is nearly up & I've just started looking at a replacement. Would love an F6 but we're also limited to $57k being the luxury car tax limit. Expensive Daewoo dealers are selling Clubsport R8s for $57k manual and $58k for the auto - drive away - before any haggling. If Ford can't get near those prices then I may have to go red..... aagghh.
  7. Not up here they don't. 90% of them are Hyundai Getz's that must have a variable speed limiter than keeps them 20kmh below the speed limit. Also the rental car agent must advise them to stay in the right lane or they'll spontaneously combust. Oh, and for relatively new cars, a lot of them seem to have faulty indicators
  8. That night time shot makes the lower grill look like it's colour matched to the stripes... niiiice.

    Colours

Here's ours in Vibe. Think it shows off the colour better than the original photo - with less broken shadows.
  10. As we all agree, each to their own....... but after seeing that, I need some qikeze and a lie down. Imagine the response you'd get if you took it to a dealer for a trade in valuation. .
  11. Can't hurt to ask. When we bought our BA1, the BA2's were just hitting the showroom floor. Buying an auto though, there wasn't any real incentive to pay over $3000 more for the minor changes. A few days before we were due to take delivery, Ford started offering free 5year warranty on remaining 2004 stock. Asked the dealer if that would apply to our Falcon - he said no, then more or less ripped up the contract and wrote up a new one with the current date so that it would apply. I know it's not the same as replacing hardware, but still worth a few hundred dollars for nada.
  12. Doesn't the XT Euro package include the 6sp ZF auto, 17" alloys, and sports suspension?? If so, why do they bother listing prices for the standard auto XT as it's more expensive???
  13. Not if you're over 6foot tall...
  14. Drove from Brisbane to Cairns back in March. Except for a severe lack of overtaking lanes just north of Rockhampton, it was mostly a relaxing and uneventful drive. However, just after sunset as I was approaching Babinda, went through a swarm of insects that covered the windscreen within a minute. Cleaned the glass at the next servo, and the rest of the car when I got home to Cairns. No damage done, and I must have taken out 10,000 of the flying bugs.
  15. Was that at a Ford dealer?? If so, which one?

    Bargain?

$60K+ new. Must have paid full retail!!
  17. What's the Ford dealer(s) in Cairns like?? Both for sales and service? Moving up there in a few months so it's good to know where to shop.
  18. Don't suppose she has a sister So this dealer has another 3 at the same price.. Care to name them??

    F@#k Its Hot!

haha.. reminds me of the courtesy car a panel beater lent me after a 3 day job turned into 5 weeks. A Mazda 121 Funtop. But the top didn't close properly, so it was absolutely no fun in the rain.
  20. Are these the Ford XR 18s or aftermarket? Also, what brand tyres and where are you located?
  21. Agree. They should have kept the same design and made them an inch or two bigger.
  22. My 30k service was $274 at supposed trade rates. Had a few quotes and there wasn't much difference so used the most convenient dealer.
  23. For the standard size (235/45) 17" tyres, all Ford dealers are currently selling them at $186 each ($744 a set), or $225 each for Goodyear F1s
  24. Bob I'm facing the same dilemna. The original Dunlop 3000s will have covered 40000kms by the end of this month, and due for replacement. Originally I planned on a set of 19"s, but after driving another XR6 with 245/35 19"s found the ride too firm for a daily driver and family taxi. Also, there is a fair price hike for the larger size rubber, and besides, I think they would make my stock BA brakes look.... inadequate So now I've settled on 18"s, and leaning towards Lenso Sagas. With Kumho 712s, hope to get them for around $1400. http://www.allwheels.com.au/index.php?cate...=23&p2_start=36 I also like the Apec AP Design in shadow chrome, but sort of got lost against my car's dark duco. $1300 on eBay with Nankangs.... hmmm http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1
  25. cqae Did you find any particular globes significantly better? I've got a very long trip coming up, and was considering putting in one of the +50 type globes. Also, where abouts in Melbourne are you? $20 is a very fair price. I think some of your tight ar** customers might have seen some of the Autobarn stores where they offer free fitting.
