    Welcome

Hey Guys, I've so far got nothing but praise for Sunshine Ford on the Goldie. I've owned the car now for about three months, (05/04) and been into them about three times for warranty work, and the 70K service. They have been accomodating to all my requests, tried to weasel out of replacing both headlights, but gave in at the end. I have had about 3k worth of repairs carried out under warranty without too much argument from either party. It's back in the shop tomorrow for a diff leak! Warranty work for free. And I'm sure it will be back. Regards Darren
  2. Thanks All, The discs are slotted or vented or whatever it is called. Surely there must be some spray out there which we can spray on once a week or something to stop the noise? No ideas? Darren
  3. Hey Guys, Have an 04' XR6T with premium brakes. The brakes have an annoying soft squel to them every time I lightly touch the brakes coming up to lights or whateva. Once I put more pressure on, the noise goes away. I'm sure it is just brake pad dust or something, but it drives me crazy! Is there a spray I can buy or something which will get rid of this? Regards Darren
  4. Hey Guys, Got back from Sydney late last night. Big day, fly out at 6.20am, driving with one long stop for dinner, and home at 1030! Not something I recommend. The XR6T has lived up to all my expectations. Runs sweet, more power than I will ever need, looks awesome, and even more fuel efficient than I had hoped! Had an awesome trip back from Sydney West, 1 3/4 tanks of juice, about $100.00 drive. Had a dream run with traffic and roadworks though, and sat on 110/120 for most of the trip home. Phoned up the original service dealer today, and shes got an excellent history with services every 10k, and meticulously maintained. Im very happy with my car, and can't wait for the first cruise on the Goldy! Regards Darren P.S. The warranty still remains on the car, Subaru are the only manufacturer who don't warrant the car if it is bought from an auction.
  5. Hey Guys, Well, I've finally taken the plung. Now the proud owner of a 06/04 XR6T in Winter White. I fly to Sydney tomorrow to pick it up, and start the return drive to Qld, just to bed it into my style! Tint will be the only mod I will do for now, and maybe a while. It is the best buy I have seen in two months of searching, so yes, im pretty happy! Regards Darren
  6. Hey Guys, Checked with my local Ford dealer today (the man who handles warranty and towing). He assured me the turbo CAN be fitted with the 2300kg Tow Pack. He also said that the cars come standard with a transmission cooler, so this option would not be required. He is the man who will be repairing under warranty if it goes wrong, and I triple checked with him after the previous posts. Thanks Darren
  7. Hmmm, 1600kg legal is a bit limiting for my needs. Found out this morning the car is ex cops, but doesnt have reverse sensors or upgraded brakes. It has an aerial hole in the roof and small holes in the console. These things wouldn't be too hard to repair or cover up. Why else would an ex cop car not be a good buy for that price? Would the remainder of the three year warranty still be remaining? Would the motor have any other alterations for more power? Which way to go? Regards Darren
  8. Hmmm, 1600kg legal is a bit limiting for my needs. Will have to think about this one. Regards Darren
  9. Hey Guys, Im in the market for one. Whats the towing rating for the XR6T, and how well do they actually tow with t6he IRS? I will be towing on average twice a month, less than 100kms, with boats between one to two tonne with brakes. Does anyone have experience with this? I understand they have traction standard which would help on a slippery boat ramp. Regards Darren
  10. Hey Guys, Thanks for the quick replies. If it doesn't appear white is not a no-no for re-sale, I will more than likely buy the car, if it's not sold. The car is ex Government, but not police it appears. I will find out it's exact origins tomorrow. I will only do around 15-20K per year, so that's why im not too worried about k's. It will take me a long time to rack up the 200K my current car has! Cooltint, I may be in need of your services soon!. Can you let me know which tint company you represent? I recently had the partner's Mazda done at Mastertint. They did A good job but I think were expensive. Will keep an eye out for the first cruise, I'd love to attend. Regards Darren
  11. Hey Guys, I have today found a Turbo I am pretty sure I will buy. My question is, what is the general consensus on colours. I don't really care about colour, and have only just joined the site, so I just want to know what are the most popular colours, colours people would never buy ect ect. The car I found is Winter White, which I like, but I thought it may hurt my reslae value. The car is pretty standard, 2005 Auto for only $26,500.00, with 51K. I think it's a sensational deal. What are your thoughts? Regards Darren
