  1. Hi guys is there any real fix for this yet?
  2. Dated or not give me an FG 1 or 2 over this any day. What the hell have they done to the front end???
  3. Yes, will do but since most of the job was warranty didn't argue or complain plus only intend doing 10000 or so km per yer should be ok for quite a few years hopefully. Want to keep this car oem mechanically Cheers
  4. Ah yes, well the ever so slight clunk I noticed after backing off after heavy accell led me to check these bushes and yes one appeared cracked slightly. Ford confirmed and had all 5 replaced under warranty as whole cradle had to come out. I paid for the 2 or 3 that looked ok and Ford did everything else, paid couple hundred for 5 new bushed and new diff oil, happy with that, car is now totally silent in all conditions. Took her for a 600km run over the weekend, out Mansfield way, overtaking 5 or 6 plus cars in few seconds is just phenomenal, love this car. Now for the stereo!!!
  5. Ah yes fond memories. 6 months ago had a chance to take a spin in a 2013 GTP, manual. Gazz they are one spectacular, ferocious piece of gear congrats on owning one. 335 KW my arse, a few seconds behind the wheel and you know that's crap "transient overboost" or something they call it, I call it, like almost instant 400KW. Gets the job done with plenty of glorious noise.
  6. How is this thing not a cult car? Apart from being a little nose heavy in the turns, this car just makes you smile all the time, the power and torque are incredible, just belts you back in the seat at not even full throttle and good braking with Brembos. At new rrp of $67k odd a little painfull. But a year or 3 old $35k to 45/50k for mark 2 low Kms what can compete? Full size sedan climate leather and the rest, makes me wish I'd bought one years ago. This is one spur of the moment purchase with no regrets. It's amazing they are not building these anymore. Anyway thank you to Ford
  7. Merry Xmas guys. Prior to purchasing the 2011 F6 I struggled to find reports of issues or failures with the F6 drivetrain with stock power. It's one of the things that interested me. It all seems to be very strong and proven. After stretching her her legs a bit in the last 10 days since I've had it, it's all smooth, quiet and tight, with 45k clicks and it just seems to take the 570 odd nm in its stride, with no fuss. What are peoples experiences with this amazing zf gearbox/engine/diff combo any failures? I know anyone can flog any car to death in a short period but with only a bit of weekend right foot fun with stock power how long can the smiles continue. Can people comment on their trouble free Km's pls Cheers
  8. New vixen BA GT in 04 age 37, now 2011 vixen FG F6. Love this color. Car is not bad either Cheers and Merry Xmas
  9. Yeh, Geelong is where she lives, original (lame) username Mercturbo no longer relates to the F6 so changed it to current also lame. Dagabond may remember me he was an original. Cheers gents thanks for the replies and comments. 1/2 a tank of Vmax in 3 days ouch.
  10. In other vehicles I have used Helix ultra and ultra extra, full synth, the statements say the oil far exceeds all engines requirements, have had no issues so far. Seems to have all these detergents and stuff to "clean your engine up to 5 times more than other brand oils" or something sounds a bit over the top marketing hype but who really knows?
  11. Yeh will get pic up shortly only had it 1 day. Was looking at manual and Ford say use mineral oil 15w40 or something WTF? Mineral oil for this beautiful engine? Surely one would use high quality fully synthetic? What do you guys put in your F6? Cheers
  12. Hi guys, was an original forum member back in 03 with a merc silver xr6turbo, then a BAGT did a few cruises then sold up to do the "family" thing. Now back got a 2011 F6 FGmk1 unmodded, in Vixen all I can say is Faaaaaark. Will share any info I can. Cheers
