  1. This will definitely not be my run around car, but I'm not sure if I'm going to tune it to a "race only" application or a weekend warrior kind of deal just yet. The work itself would be done by me and mechanics within a shop. I don't plan on having this done anytime soon, this will be a couple of years in the making I think. The insurance is not necessarily a massive issue, but it is something I had not considered. I also think for this project to work properly (and for a long time, it would suck if it packed it in after 2 years driving) a complete overhaul of the car would be neccesary (basically just leaving the bodywork and changing everything else). I'm not sure just a custom manifold and plumbing would cut it :(. Thanks for the input though, much appreciated.
  2. This is true, and I've seen a 1000rwhp single turbo XR6 before. But twin turbo's offer a little more leeway in regards turbo threshold and high rev power gains. I.e. you don't have to sacrifice one for the other and vice versa.
  3. Alright guys, before you get straight to judging I have done this kinda of thing before but never on an XR6. So the plan is: Start with a stock XR6, get straight in with an engine rebuilt (forged everything, the works). Chuck the turbos on (obviously with slightly more care than "chuck"). With the extra power it would be making brake, clutch, intercooler, suspension and transmission (maybe?) upgrades are a must. What I want to get from you guys is both you're opinion on this plan (plus anything I've left out [minor things are just expected]) and opinions/advice on components within this plan (parts, any extra work needed). Plus anything from anyone who has twin turbo'd an XR6 before would be much appreciated.
