just though some people might be interested, the first ex qld police F6 typoon is going through the auctions on friday the 6th in brisbane. it has 41,000km, red in colour. will be interesting to see how much it goes for.

im looking at buying one aswell, the price I got was $57000 on road with auto, black 19's, hard tourno with sports bars, leather and duel zone air conditioning and I have to wait 7 weeks for it because there are none in bionic.

I pay $1000 for a 03 xr6t and im 22 and with my 21 year old girlfriend on the policy. with jci with an excess of $1200 looking at buying a brand new f6 tornado and got a quote off the net from jci for $2755 a year, rang them the next day and got quoted $1845 also with my girlfriend on the policy as the main driver, as she will be driving it everyday. it was only $100 more a year to have her as the main driver so I thought for that I wont risk it. that is with an excess of $1400 for me and $1450 for her. how can you get 2 quotes $900 apart from the same company? and I have a shocking record. 2 claims, 01 & 02, 3 speeding fines, 2 > 15kmh, 1 last year 44kmh over and driving without undu care and attention in 05. but I have never had a licance suspention. there are alot of factors with insurance. one of the main ones is your address and if it is parked on the street or in a garage. when I was living with my parents I had to park on the street but when I bought my own house because it was garaged my insurance droped by $500 a year

this is my mates setup, it is in a ss ute

Well you would have herd both sides of the story and you can make up your own mind, just saying that knowing the risk, I wouldn't do it. how much is a BOV compared to replacing a turbo. VL turbos had a bush bearing turbo, not a ball bearing turbo. ball bearing turbos have a smaller shaft due to the size of the actual bearings.
-
If they didn't need them they wouldn't be there in the first place. they are there so when you let your foot of the go pedal and the butterfly closes the air will try to escape as it is still being compressed by the turbo because it is still spining, and there are only 2 ways out, back through the turbo or through a BOV. what do you think is going to happen to the compressor wheel on your turbo if everytime the butterfly closes it has air trying to escape back through it while it is still trying to compress the air in there because the gasses from the engine are still turning the compressor wheel. so basicly you have each side of the turbo fighting each other as they are both trying to slow donwn at differnt rates. Not to mention all the undue strain on the whole intake system as you have air traveling 2 different directions. It also creates lag as the turbo will slow down more than it normally would have if you had a BOV. Diesels don't make vacuum, because there's no butterfly in the throttlebody that closes when you let off the go pedal. Therefore, there's no need for a BOV because all the charged air just ends up being used. and you actually can get a BOV for trucks that hook into the ECU are activated by throttle position.
-
that's a good way to stuff your turbo, do you know what a BOV acctually does, and please don't say just makes a noise. car looks good though
-
has changed the noise heeps from standard, alot louder. the flutter is louder than it is standard aswell. I a very happy with it. took it for a good run yesterday and when I stoped it wasn't even hot you could put your hand I was pretty cold. I thought being metel it would get hot, but nup.

I have just ordered racing hart cr's (same as brian's) in 19x10 and I had to get +28 offset with some massaging they should fit, I hope. But this is on a sedan. talking to some guys where I am getting my tyres they said they just put 305's on a ute with 10" rim and they fit fine. just go do some measurements. see how much room you have from the inside of your standard rim to the struts and how much room you have from the outside lip to the guard and then use this site, http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp to calculate and it will give you how much room you will have left on each side. have a play around and find what offset fits. but saying that some wheels are only available in some offsets. you will need to roll the guards but other than that you should be fine

Last time I was talking to him he had an agreed value of like $170,000. My mate is an insurance salesman for suncorp metway and he had to do insurance for a 17 y/o who's dad had just bought him a Ferrari F360 Modena. there was only 1 insurance company in the world that would insure him with was Loyds of London at a whopping $8500 dollars a year. He doesn't even get a discount and he works for them.

What rim width and ofset are you running to get 285 on the rear. did you have to do any suspention mods to clear the shock or any guard mods?

Im 22 and pay $1100 with Just Cars with a rating 1. I have a terrible record, 2 fines over 15km/h one over 45km/h, driving without undue car and attention, 32 defect notices, that's for a 03T with my 20yo girlfriend on the policy as well with agreed value of $29000 I have also had 2 write-offs in the last 3 years. live on the Gold Coast. $1600 excess thou and an extra $1000 on top of that if it is stolen. Go figure if you crash the car and is your fault you pay less than if someone else takes the thing and has nothing to do with you. I have my 6 month old $200,000 truck insured with suncorp with 5million public liabilty insurance and I pay almost $8000 a year but they wouldn't touch the T as I am under 25. what tha. My mate has a 02 model supercharged M5 with tubi exhust, stoptek brakes, some rims from the states(don't know what the are called) full bilstien suspention. it runs 10's and has done over 300km/h and he only pays $1000 and is 23 where as my mate with his 98 model rex pays like $2500. I can't work out how they can justify there premiums

Just thought I mite post some pics of my stereo install, well work in progress! I have just modified the standard speaker covers, one is almost finished just have to smooth it out a little more and fill some pin holes and the other I have just started. I have just modified the covers where the mirrors are for the tweeters. They are made for dynaudio splits, I am also putting in alpine TME-M860 8” Hi Res touch screen into the dash and am moving the standard screen down to the bottom near tissue holder with a lpine DVA-5210E Ai – Net DVD / Mp3 player above it in the same spot with a alpine VPA- B222R Vehicle Hub Pro controling it all. I have a alpine mrd-m1005 amp with 2 MTX thunder 8000 12" subs for the boot and a kenwood 800w amp for the speakers. what do you guys think?

Being a store manager of a BP servo I find it very, very, unlikly that it was a fuel problem, but don't get me wrong, it does happen, just very rare especially with ultimate, trust me that 10c extra a litre you pay doesn't equal profit. But it would take a fair wack of detonation, enough that you would definently notice to bend a rod at stock boost levels. but I would recomend that you take 2 fuel samples from the tank one for you and one for the servo you bought it from, if it is the same tank. As if ford don't cover the engine, you might have some luck getting some money from BP if you can prove it, I have herd of this happening before, but don't hold me to it. good luck mate as mine is just hitting the 85,000km I am interested to see how this will turn out, let us know how you go.
