  1. Yep sounds like a plan rubber is under control Just put on 4 new Bridgestone potenza adrenaline re003s so Far very impressed with them much better than The sport maxx which were flogged out just Past 20,000k! More grip less vibration & Pretty quiet considering their size
  2. Ha classic yeah we've all had some attention From the boys in blue at some point! Thanks for The replies everyone I think I'm going to keep The Mk ii. I paid 37k for it just over 12 months ago. Resale is going to be 30k at best privately, Its too much of a hit to upgrade to the FGX considering some small mods will produce close to the same car. Definitely looking at the shock works coilovers. Dunno about brakes as it seems I will have to Ditch the mkii 19 inch rims (the car has the lux pack) to fit brembos. I've Read the XYZ front pack will fit the stock rims Though & race brakes Sydney may have some Other kits for FG's that fit stock rims as well. Perhaps just the DBA T3 Rotors with good pads Fluid flush & braided lines would be enough? Power wise a tune would suffice initially but I can See Ill prob want more. These new SS commos Are going to be around 310kw With the LS3 motor & it would be nice to think it would be quicker !! Aah where does it end ??!!!!
  3. Yeah I do agree with you it's a big number to changeover and I will need to drive the car a fair bit with kids in it etc etc.. Maybe some mods are on the cards! Just been checking out shock works as I'm in Melb seems as if they have some awesome Brake & suspension upgrades worth checking out..
  4. Hi All. I have a 2013 FG XR6T with 20,000ks on it. I love it having previously owned a BA XR6T for Many years prior.. The idea of the new FGX XR6T Sprint with the F6 motor, brembo's & stiffer Suspension is getting me excited. I know nothing is confirmed as yet though but my dealer tells me He has people putting down deposits on them already & they will def be cheaper than the XR8. So my Dillemma is to keep my FG which is stock & modify it to "Sprint spec" or just bite the bullet & upgrade to the FGX. I have not modded any of my XR6 T's before. If I was to keep the FG I'd look at Brembo's on the Front at least, tune to F6 power & king springs with bilsteins. I'd estimate this will cost around 7k approx? Changeover to the FGX will hurt at about 25 to 30k roughly depending on how much they go for. Not Sure about future resale of the Sprint but as it's the last model it possibly maybe better than previous XR 6 T's Any thoughts ? Cheers.
  5. No dramas thanks again for the replies just wanted to make sure its fairly normal. A few mates raised their eyebrows when I bought the FG after owning the BA for 9yrs I guess that's because they have never driven a T before!! One of the most underrated performance Cars ever some people have no Idea what they are missing...
  6. Thanks For the reply looks as if I'm going to have to get used to gently easing of the pedal ! Problem is she rockets through 100 so fast by the time you ease of you are doing 130! Ha good problem to have. Huge difference between the BA and the FG picked it up for 37k with towbar window tint and lux pack has the grey ford 19s on It, just need to learn how to drive it smoothly
  7. Hi all I am new to posting on this forum although I have read it for years! I've been driving a BA manual for the Last 9 yrs, great car but have just changed over to the FG mk ii auto. It's done 10,000k purchased Only days ago. This is my first auto loving it and the quicker spool up of the FG but it has a serious driveline jolt when you plant your foot then Back off the accelerator quickly. Is this normal? I seem to think it is from reading various threads about the ZF in the FG. I'm unsure of the state of the diff bushes I will check them just to be sure they are OK. Apart from that the ZF auto Is great no noise otherwise & changes smoothly. Just a bit worried about the clunk on backing off? Any advice appreciated cheers. The car is still under Warranty.
