  5. yea the ba ive got has this problem im sure of it. never blows smoke unless at idle and take of from a period of waiting(stoplights etc) so im going to do valve springs and stem seals soon I reckon.
  6. ive had my fg xr6t 08 model for bit over a year now. always have used nulon full synthetic 10w-40 every 5k and barely uses any, ive got a oil leak that im still trying to find that's the only oil it uses as far as im aware..
  7. im heading to canberra this weekend and was thinking if these guys could fit me on a sat morning for a re tune I would do it. saves me going to sydney just for a tune. any reports on these guys tuning abilities
  8. just installed turbo side intake. so re tune is needed whats average price from autotech or cms for a re tune I dont have sctx3 or 4! should I buy one or could I just get a tune from these guys without flash tuner
  9. so turns out it was the tailshaft centre bearing and uni joint and now the diff noises have 90% gone.. so ill keep the bushes for another day
  10. yeh mate 100% aware of any change like this to not thrash it. I drive it barely its the misses car. needs tune anyway so the ba xr6t is the car of choice for her now. thanks but mate appreciate it
  11. yeah its going to syd soon prob go see cms. when I bought it I got it tested on the dyno to see how it was running. it made 300.8rwkw good afr except on idle and it shows. it hunts at low rpm and is very annoying. it will even stall sometimes. so its going for a retune. I just wanna get maybe some gear to so I can run e85 as well make bit more power again. also get the auto looked at cause its slightly flaring.
  12. also when you pull the cable outta the fuse box I got the wrong cable (retard I know) so I had to buy another battery terminal. but if the just cut the fuse box cable off the standard power terminal and heat shrink the part thsts left you could prob save some money. I just tapped up the factory neutral incase I ever wanted to put it back to stock look.
  13. car is tuned with 300rwkw has 4'' dump 5'' cat and 4'' rest of exhaust bar the rear muffler for some reason its been dropped back to 3'' bigger cooler and hard pipe kit injectors unsure of size. parts I got: 2m of power cable earth cable from sca had the battery terminal already sca battery tray and universal battery holder had to modify the battery tray and ive still got a support to make for it but for now the battery is 100% secure one 8mm eyelet to crimp on 3''-4'' silicon elbow I used the one off my muffler delete pipe stainless 4'' bend and cut to length pod filter from repco but will be getting a good k&n one just no where in town had one. 32mm door stopper from bunnings and a hose clamp to suit. this is to block of the bov that used to connect to cross over pipe. ive got a catch can to go in soon which will pick up the breather ontop of the motor

  15. Hi all just did a turbo side I take on my fg xr6t. Didn't think it would be that hard,and I was right. I reckon all up bits cost me 150 bucks and my mate is going to enclose the pod for me. I reckon all up took me 2 hours including going to auto electrician to get a fitting crimped on. All in all sounds unbelievable so I think spending hundreds and hundreds on brand name ones is bit far fetched. I'm not super handy with stuff and I found it a piece of piss. I'll get some photos when I've painted up all the piping etc.
  16. want ended up happening here. ive got smoke on startup and when sitting at lights etc. but nothing whilst cruising or under power

Exact symptoms are as follows, Start up from cold bugger smoke but slight misty whitish smoke Quick rev little blue smoke but then clears off Let idle and whitish oil burning smell from exhaust Take off little blue smoke and then nothing whilst driving around town or highway and on it hard nothing at all either Return to idle for stop lights etc and it comes back at idle and take then gone again.. My guess is stem seals. Mechanic reckons that to. Find out next week
  18. Haha barnz. I've booked in for leak down test next week. Mechanic over the phone reckons it'll be valve stem seals. Wouldn't that be good if it is. It would seem weird for the engine to just go sh*t over night when I was even smashing the right pedal much at all. Who knows hey

  20. Well I did notice there was bit of shaft play but not heaps. I just thought maybe if the oil pressure actually is low and me fiddling with the switch has done something to it which made the light go out,when in actual fact it is low and me driving it today has f*cked the rings by having low oil pressure. And there was a little sitting in the mouth of the turbo yesterday when I pulled all pipes off to tighten exhaust manifold studs
  21. Bad news I think, I started it this morning and oil light come on and was beeping so shut it down. Played around with oil pressure switch and then started again and it was all good. Noticed now and it wasn't doing it yesterday is it's blowing blue smoke Id idle and low rpms clears once accelerating. So rings ya think
  22. now got a ba xr6t so the fg is coming off the road for diff bushes and tailshaft centre bearing cause the thing clunks really bad. wish me luck cause ill be doing it from home! any tips anyone

I going to attempt this soon on the ba I just got my hands on! ill be checking shaft play on the 35/40 when its off question is what is an exceptable amount of shaft play back and forward side to side etc. cause if the turbo is off and on its way out I might as well buy new bits I need at the same time

I also noticed the xr6t has dual zone climate control but the premium sound must have had the rear speakers and sub/amp removed and replaced with aftermarket stuff as it has power and earth wires for sub and amp and stuff in the boot. would it be hard to find the original stuff to re fit or would I better off just replacing with decent aftermarket sub and parcel shelf speakers
  25. yep care is very tidy. all the leather is really good only minimal wear on the driver bolster. wouldnt mind getting few new plastics for inside that have broken cl;ips but nothing at all major im just fussy. ill put some photos up tomoz. rims have gutter rash but if I keep it some mc racing staggereds will be getting slotted on. paint is good couple little marks but all round prob a solid 9 outta 10 for its age. really like the feel of the ba actually. so smooth in the ass compared to my clunky fg(obviously because my diff bushes 110% f-ed in the fg) but at least now the fg can be off the road for few days to be maintained as its the bushes have been rooted for few months now.
