I think ill just replace the U gaskets at each end some decent sealant down the guts. I hit the limiter max 7 or 8 different occasions with 300kw. But car had 100k kms on it w ht en I bought it so who knows what life its had
Sumps still in place now as we pulled sump down enough and lifted engine enough to get the pump off. I'm exchanging pumps so I needed to send mine down before they send new one unless I pay extra 275 bucks. But turned out my pump was total so found a replacement pump in working order for 30 bucks so sent it down so new one should see my place next week.. Still know tune oil pump let go first.. And I had the airbox setup back in.. But turbo side is back now and I'll be going straight to get a re tune once pumps in..
P.s sump had no gasket just sealant around the sump and block faces. But on I seen on eBay gaskets for ft xr6 turbos??? Anyone know for sure if I was meant to have a gasket in between the sump and block?
yeah ok if the housing was cracked it be leaking would it? cause mine isnt leaking. $1000 bucks isnt bad if that's all the damage ive done to car? it did through auto fault code but it dont seem top be on anymore when the reds are turned on!

ive read and been told its something that can be done with engine in the car still so ill be pulling mine off to check the damage and hopefully I shut it down quick enough.. what price did you see pump and gears for??
Yeah when my gears broke it just felt like the car hit a flat spot then went to click second and seen oil light flashing and beeping . Going to pick the old girl up today she been parked around the corner for a week nearly now..
Yeah I think whilst it's off we will check bearings also. If it's stuffed it's going to cms next year sometime or sadly maybe the year after all depends on the house renovation progress. Atomic oil pump is better in every way type it in on youtube they give you a run down
Who reckons it's worth trying a new atomic pump and gears on the engine and seeing if it's all ok. Worse case scenario is I have just bought the new pump and gears for the new engine if needed???
Yeah I'm more after do it once do it right fix, there may we'll be nothing major wrong with my engine, it ran for max 10secs after light come on by the time I could pull over. I'm only chasing 600hp max ever so whatever my best option is I'll go with it. I want reliable 600hp but
Yeah that is true but I thnk if I do with a f6 engine I'll wanna keep it and make more power plus the misses said if we spend more coin on it we gotta keep it forever which I don't mind at all. If minimal damage is done I'll keep it and freshen up with what it needs and put it in my ba when that engine goes and just drive xr6 turbos for the next 15 years haha

I'm not even going to bother f6 short motor and build it up like skidz4kids mentioned unless I can find a complete f6 engine new. But then I'll still have to change pump gears etc anyway wouldn't I
Yeah I think this is the better option cause to get my engine built with forges etc would cost at least that anyway I gather.. Many of these engines availible
No I'm not after anymore than 400-450rwkw it's just gets to expensive and I wanna get ahead with my houses and still have a nice toy to go for the odd blat in... So fg f6 engine how costly are they and will pump gears still need doing
So the good old fg shat the gears today. Slightly over revved it in first and bang low oil pressure light come on and horrid sound coming from around oil pump area.. So yeah gather it's pump gears. Was planning on selling the car to do few house renos but now it's going to become my life long car partner if I'm going to be spending some serious cash on rebuilding the engine. My question is I don't want massive power ever just a nice 400-450 on e85 so what would be the best option for a reliable engine and just engine build not including the bigger turbo fuel setup etc what would I be looking at price for fresh engine? I'm in Bathurst nsw and there is no one there Id trust to build the engine so someone in Syd it'll be. Who's the best engine builder in Sydney?
