  1. Haha good old legionnaires not many people know about it but it's scary when you think about the potential consequences of it :/
  2. Your welcome and na don't worry I'm keen to enjoy my Chrissy and New Years as well it's been one long year this year need abit of a break if I can get one as I'm sure we all do
  3. Oh yea there nothing biggest challenge was when I was apprentice learning to work on cooling towers utilising ammonia now that big haha but see at least there usually on a roof top and your not breaking your back working with those. Commercial units are put in the worst spots alot of the time and you break your back installing and servicing them as ud know lol. I like more the technical challenges not the physical ones that break my back Haha
  4. Yea were based in sydney but we do work all the way down the south coast if you'd like a quote just let me know and I'm sure we'd be able to help you out
  5. Um refrigerated ac units that are maintained correctly have no issues with recirculating chilled air it's an efficient system and in addition to this most modern ac units in newly built homes have a system in Which a percentage of fresh air can be introduced into the cooling cycle well maintained systems pose no health risks due to recirculating air. Evaporative systems have there own drawbacks which I won't go into we install and maintain both forms of systems so there's no bias here refrigerated ac is the winner everytime in my opinion but then again it's only an opinion.
  6. A home we did in castle hill a fortnight ago required a commercial unit due to being 9 bedroom home as well as living area media room etc even wanted the garage airconditioned. The owner was very concerned about the look of the unit and chose a particular brand just for the look of the exterior unit. interior outlet colours choices and styles are almost endless they suit any look or style ones after. Some choose it all during the planing stage and some wait until the builder tells them it's time for the ac to go in.
  7. You also need to consider how many zones you wish to operate at once as that will influence a few things. Zoning choices are largely dependant on the layout of your home
  8. Your welcome mate and yea your zoning is a very important aspect of the install That is if you want to zone yea the company may be suggesting Multiple units as running ducted in some parts of the house may be difficult but there's usually ways around it. Daikin is great as a brand but it's main competition is Fujitsu and they are also great units and are usually abit cheaper then the daikin can't go wrong with either my home uses Fujitsu and my parents Daikin both work excellently. I don't want to get to into it or start any debates lol but when it comes to ac bigger is always better only up to a certain point to big also becomes inefficient in its own way but that's another story. Goodluck with your build
  9. [quote name="Pixy Angel" post="1574539" timestamp Hi Cjafpv glade you jumped in. We've had a lot of issues trying to find a Air Con mob to give us quotes. They're all keen and when we send the plans we dont here from them again. We even ring them back to follow up and nothing. Where is home mate. Im in wollongong. We're after ducted throughout. any help would be great. Hey pixy getting aircon quotes this time of year can be difficult it's peak season and most reputable companies are flat chat but that's no excuse for them to not get back to you. Making thee choice to get a ducted system installed throughout your home is a great choice you'll Always be in comfort. Although it is imperative that the correct size unit is installed in order to ensure it can keep up with the heat load placed upon it on 35degree days and above and also that a reputable brand of unit is installed by a licenced and competent installer (sort of like choosing the correct parts and tuner when chasing power haha) home for me is sydney but we do work all the way down to the far south coast. If you ever need a quote or even some Advice just P.M and il be happy to help even if it's just to look at someone's quote and give you an opinion Common traps to avoid though are: * to small a unit for the homes size- many companies undersize units in order to provide you with a cheaper quote. Much better off to spend abit more on the larger unit and have it work properly. * a larger unit will actually use less power then a smaller unit working to max capacity as the larger unit will cut out saving power whereas an undersized unit will not. * always install a well regarded manufactured unit the good major companies units are built To a much better standard then some Of the cheaper stuff out there. * Ducted installs can be tricky. Before giving anyone the go ahead To do the work to your home actually meet with someone from The company to receive the quote you'll always get a good feeling as to How a person conducts there business if you see them Face to face rather then just over email. So basically airconditioning is sort of an art of its own many think it's straight forward but the smallest things like return air positioning, zone motor placement and even grill outlet positioning can make a big difference to the efficiency of your system and your comfort (which is the reason why you invest in airconditioning in the first place) sorry for the long rant but I've Always hated seeing people Being mislead or ripped off all because a company's mislead them or cut corners in order to gain the job.
  10. Hey guys having worked in the refrigeration and airconditioning trade for a long time if anyone ever needs any advice regarding ac or refrigeration feel free to pm me always be happy to help
  11. Hey guys just been having a read through the thread if anyone else is up for a meet and greet or a cruise sometime in January id deffs be interested I'm out South Western sydney way but wouldn't mind doing Wollongong or putty rd or even just a meet up at Harry's if anyone else is interested maybe we can sort something out
  12. Yea the srt is a monster for such a heavy car really goes with that 6.4 and on the freeway it's fuel economy is actually great like really great but yea around town sucks it's just terrible but what can you expect from the weight and cubes put together haha. Only has 3000ks on it reliability wise gonna have to wait and see only time will tell.
  13. Don't see any issues but as the others said better to get them checked out better safe then sorry I guess goodluck with the retune
  14. Straight up my advice injectors, inter cooler piping (preferably new inter cooler kit) process west plazmaman etc and at least a high flow cat but then again preferably a dump pipe and highflow cat that should get you over 300 dunno about 330 though 300-315 would be my bet of course this all needs a good custom tune and the tuner you pick can make a big difference
  15. Ah v8s are only outdated if you look at ss commodores older xr8s etc seen a new amg ferarri lately they still pack the good old v8 in em and a lot of the modern turbo v8 amgs will leave most other STOCK performance cars in there dust and I'm no amg fan I drive an fg f6 and a jeep srt and a 2.3 ton car that can do 0-100 in less then 5seconds is impressive
  16. When your about to finish a 12hr shift and it's been a tough night then you get a real sh*tty job 15 mins b4 knock off time.......don't get me started lol

    Advice

As stripes said intercooler and tune should get you there but depending on your funds and personal situation and preference id also go exhaust and pulley and ul be in the mid 400s mite as well do it now to save on retuning a good old v8 always needs a quality exhaust to do it justice those 5.0s sound incredible with a good exhaust on them
  18. Was driving home and was being harassed by someone of certain ethnicity driving a c63 amg the priceless look on him And his mates faces when 490rwkw took off from the lights that deffs made me Feel good
  19. A lot of people say the turbos are more unreliable but think about it a lot of people buy the turbo coz they want the performance out of it and thrash the living day lights out of it so long story short the turbos have harsher lives and that's why a few develop a few issues. My dad had a fg turbo work ute and apart from a few minor things it got to 200k without issue started to feel abit worn by then but engine and gearbox wise she was fine if you want the turbo just get it the car will treat you as good as you treat it just make sure to buy a good clean example and you should be fine. Only thing is the turbo basically demands it's oil changes on time if your one to be lax on servicing go the na apart from that go the turbo youl love it and there's also that factor that everytime Your at the lights in the na and you see a turbo roll Up youl be wondering what if or should of I etc. I think turbos the way to go either way enjoy and Goodluck.
  20. I have the nitto Invos and rate them had continental sport contacts previously and there just as good if not better but if you think the invos wear out quickly the contis are worse. Best thing to do is shop around ul be surprised at how much prices can fluctuate between particular tyres just bcoz one particular tyre was cheaper a month ago dosent mean it's the same way now
  21. Joe at cms got my fg f6 to run 500rwkw on 1000cc injectors e85 and that's on kpms 1000hp drop in fuel system. Not sure how different the territory's are but just thought id chime in Joes great guy btw
