Heres a grill I have started making for some club members and might have a guy making them in Aussie soon. They are made from a resin and are painted. Not sure if he is up to painting them for you but even in unpainted form they are easy to do yourself. It is a perfect half size copy of the top grill so it fits the car well. If anyone is interested I can see if he can make some up. David

Yes it does, slightly. But since this allows revs to be higher it allows slightly more boost from the turbo almost negating this. Hence the auto works very well with the XR6T.

I have had an even worse experiance. I noticed when I brought the car the bumpers ( front and back ) didn't look right. Appeared the have thin paint. About two months ago I noticed the clear coat close the the fog lights was loolking oxidized. Was going to take it into the dealer to get it sorted but I washed it before I left and a big chunk of paint around 50mm by 60mm fell off. Now its in getting redone. Not a happy camper.

I know about the 2 extra cylinders, the sound the fact its a GT or GT-P. The really comfortable seats. Brembo brakes, did I mention the sound and all the other things the GT cars have, but have any of you defectors noticed that the Turbo is quicker. I'm being serious here not trying to start any fights but we have a couple of GT-Ps in our club and my stock standard T beats them to the 100 by 3/4's of a car length. Ones a manual which is a little quicker than the auto. The only time it is quicker seams to be in the licence loosing territoy. Since there is more in Aussie than NZ maybe you can tell me im wrong and that they have duds? If not bring on the Typhoon.

Had the same leak. Mech tried to tighten it. Leak came back. Replaced gasket, leak went away. He ran a light file over the end of the oil return pipe. Also make sure they clean up the mess as oil around that part of the car can make smells etc.

My father works for a company that installs signs for many different outfits, and while driving through town I saw him outfitting a Expensive Daewoo dealership. I had to stop and ask him what the hell he was doing even setting a foot in the house of evil. After getting and giving with the Expensive Daewoo personel ( all good blokes I might add ) my dad informed me they had to remove this massive sign, and could he borrow my big ladder. Even this was to small so I donned my harness and was lifted up by the huge Hiab crane. Then heaven came to me!! I got to smash a 12 ft by 12ft Expensive Daewoo sign with a hammer!!! Bye bye lion. Just pull the whole unit out by putting your finger nails under the surround ( easiest done from the windscreen side ) and giving it a yank. The two lamps are then easy to remove.

NT, I always thought that the warrenty issue was paid by Fo Mo Co, not the dealer? The dealer shouldn't worrie about the cost since they get it back from Ford. Get the new battery ( the 520 CCA one ) from them. If ford have a concern tell them to contact the manufacturer. To me the dealer attitude stinks!!!! Do you guys have a commerce commision over there?

I don't know about over there but in NZ the Exide batteries we use have a twelve month warrenty on them. Take it to the dealer since Ford brought the battery they will have to claim on the fault. Ie the dealer should get you a new battery via FoMoCo.

Some bikes have special cylinder liners that have coatings on/in them to allow for high RPMs. Not sure if this is the case as I have never owned a Duke but there may be an additive in it that damages this. Could also be a temperature thing with the way higher octane fuels ignite. But from memory ( mostlikley wrong ) the 999 is air cooled so this shouldn't be the case.

Sorry XRdreaming Ford have a factory alarm. Its a BEM ( Body electronics module ) replacement. If this is what you have Pads, then they do seem to have alot of probs with voltage fluctuations. First open the fuse cover ( the one by the drivers right leg ) and check that the earth wire is tight. Its on a brass looking nut at the bottom right of the board. If it is tight check the fluid levels in your battery are correct as an underfull battery will change its voltage output when it cools, this is unlikely but could cause the prob. And also as has been said earlier it could be the boot light circuit but this would only cause the prob if your battery was underperforming. Hope this helps. Dave. Ps the BEM replacement alarm in my car has the siren hidden in the front left panel.

Also, conspiracy theory, does the ECU learn and detune for the free flowing exhaust over time I have heard that the T ECU does this too. Alot of guys found the same thing with Expensive Daewoo V8's when upgrading them. Big power gains at first then slowly back to stock. I think I heard that anything up to 10 maybe 15 KW is ok after that the ECU knobbles things. Go with the piggy back computer.

NT, have a look athe the Earthing point on the fuse board. The guy who installed mine left it slightly loose and it would trigger at random. Its at the bottom right of the board ( the one in the drivers footwell ) Dave.

Not burning oil here but I found the same thing about trying to get that pesky oil cap unscrewed. Found that if I gave it a go after the car was quite warm it came undone with a little force. If not try plan B and say FU*K alot, it seems to help.

Have the extact same prob in NZ. At least you guys/gals don't have the same extent of cheap arsed Jap imports on the roads that we have. These are not the EVO's or WRX's, its the Mirages and Charades and litte pop pop jokes that have 1300cc engines with no turbo or engine mods but still have the fully sick 3" drain pipe hanging off the back of there 1" pipe. Makes the car idiot proof to a certain extent. Wanna play turn it off at the first set of lights. One thing I have found with mine though ( not sure if this is a fault in the system or just the LSD catching up ) if you are lighting up the tires in a tight circle and the traction control comes on then just as it goes off you dump the lead foot down and the tires light up, traction control doesn't intrude at the second bite. Not condoning any form of hooning of course.

The Madaz is a Great car don't get me wrong but I hope you don't want good resale value. Not sure about Aussie but over here Mazdas don't hold there price well. I got great service with my car and Ford dealers I went to before this dealer were arrogant rude and lazy! Good to see a man that has princibles.
