  7. It may start and run if you put them in but it wont do it for long before its gonna foul the plugs.Ratter is a Pro Tuner,Listen to the man.Take them with you and fit them at the tuneshop.

Thanks for the info Luke ,I didnt Quite do the D shape as such but did open up the port considerly and the associated blend work but was worried about the flap catching on the edge of the port due to the way I had opened it up (before the flap was tigged) so I ended up putting a slight chamfer on the outer edge of the flapper face just for that extra bit of clearance when it returns shut.Maybe not the best solution but it works fine.I did also relieve the chamber in the area you marked in your pic.I guess on my next one I will pay a little more attention Lol.
  9. Im with what Freeze dk said.You might also want to check or replace the fuel filter and get the fuel pump tested to make sure it supplies within specs.If you are going to run the generic tunes run the 8lb tune till you get a custom tune not the 10lb one.

  11. If you go with vcm read all you sct files and save,Load your stock tune and save.Know you have a xcal 3 ready for sale and all your tunes on file to compare to stock or reflash back into your car.

  13. Hi flow stockers are easier to tune than dekkas but there are mixed feelings about which are better. Consult with what your tuner prefers to meet your goals. I went with dekkas on my own car.

  15. Lol Riptide,Old school guy bit slow on the computer side.Usually just browse but have been at home after getting some minor knee work on both knees .

Depending on what area you live in you might be better speaking to one of the forum sponsors.These guys are pros on these cars and will be way quicker in diagnosis and repair and Im sure way better bang for buck than any Ford dealer will ever be. Havent heard much about cam sensor issues.Most common issues would be sparkplugs,coilpacks,vacuum leaks.
  18. I dont think you will have issues with coil bind on full lift with std cams. Riptide just using better intake springs was a good idea with good results,Nice bit of thought went into that!

  20. Shims are sometimes requierd to bring valvesprings up to the desired installed spring seat pressure for optimum function and performance.

Installed height relates to spring seat pressure.If you check the measurement between the spring seat and the bottom of the installed retainer with a inside mike and it is close to the reccomended specs you should be ok .Some will flame me for my comment for sure but lots do it.Obviously perfect is best. Sorry about the loan tool cant help you there.I know $500 is a big deposit to tie up but they have to make sure they grt their tool back,you cant blame them for that.

With the amount of fiddling you do I am supprised you dont have one,cheap insurance.Was curious about your mates feel for boost fluctation as im having something similar but only about 1lb but pulsing in and out,Bit annoying but doesnt appear tune/software related.Maybe my 12ib actuator has a small hole in the diaphragm.

  24. Riptide do you run a boost guage in the the car?
  25. What brand valve springs and who is the tuner?
