  1. I want to get a tuner to tune my car but want the ability to edit modify and improve their tune. Sounds like hpt is the way to go.
  2. Surely that would take less than a few minutes? It is like 3 different steps with two different pieces of software, wouldn't an oil change take longer?
  3. I just want to be an original gangsta
  4. what is the peak of the 3576, I though it was around 300 on 98?
  5. So HPT can edit SCT tunes but not vice versa?
  6. 3576 is certainly an odd combination, I guess it makes sense for super low boost on a 4L though I ran a GT2876 spec turbine/compressor in a highflow in my old 2.5L skyline, made 260rwkw with an almost flat torque line
  7. probably Seriously though, are hp tuners/xcal able to edit each others tunes?
  8. sleepwithyourdadelaide (Im from SA haha)
  9. Oh I wrongly assumed JETURBO was a mod lol red banner makes you all look the same, totally take back my comment, your post was definitely helpful!
  10. Cheers for the useful posts lads, how on earth does someone like that become a mod? On topic: If someone flashes a tune with XCAL can I edit it with HP tuners?
  11. BF XR6T that has already been tuned via HPT, I will check out the demo version, that sounds like a great way to trial the software. How bad is the HPT data logging, does it allow you to log, graph and replay whatever values you are interested in? Unfortunate that the PCM does not allow real time tuning, even the 1980s ECUs in nissan skylines are capable of real time tuning with a daughterboard installed in them, Thanks for the information.
  12. t04e compressor wheel doesn't say anything It is an 82mm compressor wheel and the compressor maps are readily available, I'm just curious about the rear housing A/R
  13. That makes HP tuners a much more attractive package then, has anyone used both?
  14. COOL POST BRO seriously though, are those 16,000 posts all as useful as that reply?
  15. Thanks for the reply. Do you know if both turbos are 1.08 A/R ?
  16. is there any benefit in one over the other, do both do full real time tuning? If so other than the hand controller why would you get one over the other, do they both have similar capabilities? How do they connect to the ECU, do they use a standard connection? Is there anything the hand controller is useful for other than switching between multiple tunes? If you have actually used the software I'm curious what your thoughts are. Any screencaps of the software I'd be interested in as well.
  17. The BA/BF has a garrett GT35/40 1.08 What is in the FG falcon?
  18. ID 1000s it is then, so anyone know what mods required to fit them?
  19. Ok thanks guys, from some more googling it sounds like they are the way to go, installation wise what is required from you guys who have fitted them, mod the rail or they install with spacers?
  20. Why is that, isn't that just an american thing eg hp vs kw? I personally haven't heard anything good (or bad) from them, however the IDs I have heard lots of good so I'm still up in the air. WIth the ID's what mods are required to fit them also what kind of money am I looking at?
  21. Bruce from Heinrich Performance and Tuning said he likes using the 60lb siemens injectors, what is the general opinion of these, are they a new generation injector with a good spray pattern?
  22. BF XR6 Turbo, manual, 185,000kms, $12.5k Last 100,000 kms were done in 4 years with him driving ~100kms to work everyday so I'm not massively fussed about the kms. He said he has only one other caller in the last 6 months so I am considering low balling him $10-11k to see if he will take it. What do you guys think price wise? I am looking to mod it to ~300rwkw so perferably find an example with mods already or mod it myself.
  23. Sorry for making yet another injector thread, but I can't seem to find any consensus or the information I need from a search. I am looking to make 300rwkw on a BF XR6T with the possibility to run E85 and make a maximum of 350rwkw in the future. I do not want to compromise on idle or low load performance, so if this means going a smaller injector size and not ever going to E85 then that is ok. I have seen a few injectors mentioned multiple times, ID 1000cc and siemens 60lb (600cc??), which injector has the best spray pattern that does not mean compromising on fuel economy and idle yet will make this sort of power. Also which (if any) injectors bolt straight in with no modifications, I am happy to modify the rail but would prefer bolt in injectors. Do FG and BA/BF all use the same fuel rail? Also cost is a factor eg if they are only slightly better but cost double I don't think I would purchase them, but if it means getting a bolt in example then I would be happy to pay more. So what do people recommend? Thanks
  24. I have just had my 270rwkw r32 skyline (1300kg) written off due to a rear end accident, I've managed to get $10k from insurance and have another $10k of my own I'm willing to spend. Apologies in advance if these questions are newbie, I've done a few searches so hopefully I've got some idea. I've decided to upgrade to a XR6T BF due to it being a safer car and now that I'm 27 want to lose the dickhead label that makes cops love to pull you over. I assume due to being almost 500kg heavier I will need a solid 50kw more to get the same seat of the pants feeling as my skyline so I'm looking for a car already making >300 or modding a stock example to > 300. Now I've found a few 6 speed 2007 BFs (looking for examples > 06/06 so they have the typhoon motor with different valve springs that can make the power) for around the $12.5k mark, assuming they are in good nick is this a good price? Now I could buy a stock one for around 12.5k, then to make > 300 I need the following (please correct me if I'm wrong). Full exhaust Intercooler Injectors ECU / Real time tune (no mail order bs) Clutch Tyres Wastegate actuator (to stop boost creep) Air filter Fuel pump (is this needed?) What would one realistically expect to pay for all of this if you install half of it yourself, $4-5k ? Knowing this for $16k am I likely to find a manual BF already making > 300rwkw ? What would you guys recommend? I've seen the skyline scene and over there it is always far more cost effective to buy someone else's money pit and put a few $k into fixing their problems vs doing it all from scratch, even if they stuff it up it is cheaper to fix than to buy everything up front. Thoughts, should I wait it out to find a modded example, or should I buy a stock one and do it myself, if I do it myself are my costs realistic and is there anything I have missed. Thanks guys. edit: How do these cars fare with kilometres, is 185,000 kms a lot? Is it anything to worry about? What kind of things would you expect to fail at this distance and would you be hesitant buying a high km example.
