The ODS HD halfshaft was the shaft that sheared off at the hub. The reason for the breakage could have been that the nut on the halfshaft hadn't been tightened correctly on installation and had come loose. I will explain my reasoning for this. Normally when I jack the rear of the car off the ground, it would be to change the wheels over to the M/T ET Radials. During this process, I leave the handbrake on. While replacing the broken halfshaft, I obviously had to release the handbrake and found by accident that the DS rear wheel wobbled side to side. Initially, I thought it maybe a bearing but on further investigation, I found that the haftshaft was loose. It took 2 full turns on the nut to tighten it up. If the ODS was the same, it could have been the cause of the breakage. The HD halfshafts were installed by an independent workshop. The HD halfshafts do not have a manufacturer marked on them. They were purchased from Prestige Auto Venue, Victoria. I was told they come from the US. The shaft is larger in diameter and the CV joints are stronger. The attached photos show the standard halfshaft compared to the HD halfshaft.
