  1. Really? I'll have to get mine dyno'd when it's run in. I couldn't handle guessing it's actual kws. Here it is parked at work... Gave it some more stick today after reading the ridiculously helpful run in topic. Very fast! I've also put my pod filter on just to hear the thing spool and surprisingly it changed the exhaust note quite a bit. Only temporary though. Can't wait to give it some stick when it's run in a bit more. Just an amazing car. I cannot recommend it enough! The only downside is I noticed about an hour ago that they have chipped a corner of the rear spoiler in three places right next to eachother and tried to 'touch' them up. I mean, I paid over $60k for this f*cking car, I expect it to not have touch up paint on it. And the pricks didn't even fill up the tank for me. I mean, cmon. They have a lot to learn about customer service at Ethridge. Cheers!
  2. Yeah I think I sould keep it stock. You never know what these things can do once tuned and boosted up a bit. The guy told me that the whole engine and drivetrain are void once it's touched (if they find out) and I don't really wanna screw that up. For now... I haven't even given it a full go yet, and already it's pretty fast. I've been in some quick cars, but it's different when you own it. Can't wait till then engine is run in properly. Has this thing seriously got 225rw kws? I thought it was about 200? Anyone know the average?
  3. OH MY GOD This car is amazing. Easy to drive, fast as fizzuck, and it stops like you're hitting a brick wall. Thank god for Brembos. I used to be a Expensive Daewoo man. Fu*k you Holden - you should have released another VL turbo. Idiots! It was so hard to drive home. I did laps of my favourite tracks through Warrandyte and Park Orchards with the Ipod cranked and the biggest smile on my face I have ever pulled. WOW! Sadly, now that my holidays are over I have to face the facts and return to work tomorrow. Good night! P.S. I'll post some pics tomorrow. Not that it's anything anyone hasn't seen.
  4. Oh My God Oh My God Oh My God Oh My God Oh My God Oh My God Oh My God Oh My God Only 1 hour to go! SWEET!
  5. Can anyone direct me where I can read how to block the stock BOV on an F6? Thanks
  6. I pick it up tomorrow at 4pm. Damnit I HATE waiting. I thought I could just drive it away after it was paid for but nooooo, they have to roadtest and detail it. Give it to me already, I'll f-ing road test it alright.
  7. It's not registered. He said if it was registered then it would be a Demo and I woulda got the same deal that Rob E got for his R Spec. Ah well. They want $62,266 onroad. It says on the contract 'Discount' as $5128.52. Spose it's better than nothing. I'll post a pic of my new and old beasts together tomorrow. Cheers!
  8. Hey fools. I'm signing my R Spec contract tomorrow then driving it out the gate. They're telling me that FPV doesn't qualify for a fleet discount. Does anyone know if this is true? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys n gals P.S. I'm gonna have great difficulty sleeping tonight!
  9. Sneakly little pricks. Always out to ruin a good time. The answer is supervised, free and sponsored track, pan or drag days for people to use their cars. Pulling people over and issuing fines is not the answer. F*ck the Police, they are just so simple.
  10. Sweet, there you go then! I just rang the guy at Ford and he said it was different for FPV's. Is this correct? Cheers
  11. That was me. I've already called this morning and my rep is in the sales meeting. Hopefully Ford have sent out the memo. I'll post as soon as I find out if/when it comes out, might not be today? I have no idea, it's just what I was told from another Ford salesman. With any luck, I could pickup my new R Spec today, so you can imagine I'm quite excited right now
  12. Sounds like a plan. Thank you for the experienced info! I drive a 100k round trip to & from work each day, so this will be easy to do and I'll clock up 5000k's in 2 months. Cheers
  13. What warranty is voided if Simon does a Capa tune on the Phoon?
  14. I'm also interested to know, those who do suggest to 'run in' the engine, what is the best way to do this, and does it even matter? I was under the impression that it goes it's strongest when it's first built, and then through age and natural wear and tear of the engine and the drivetrain, the thing would slowly lose power. Is it worth gritting your teeth to lockjaw and scrating together all of your self control to NOT put your foot to the floor before you have some decent k's on the clock?
  15. Where abouts are you Bionic? I've just put one on hold at Ethridge in Ringwood. If all goes well I'll have it next week. We should cruise if you're in the east. (I'm in Croydon Hills) Trust me, buy a house as soon as you can. It makes it a hell of a lot easier to get a phoon. I'm turning 24 today, I bought my house when I was 22, I struggled for 6 months to do anything, and now it's all paid off. I got engaged 3 days ago and I've got a 3 year old. I wouldn't have anything if I didn't have the house, so get a house as soon as you can! Also, RACV quoted me $2235, rating one with rating protection. Not too bad I spose. It's almost exactly what I paid when I bought my XR6 when I was 21. Insurance is crazy. I don't understand how you've waited so long. It's only been a day for me and I couldn't sleep last night. You poor bastard!
  16. I can vouch for Rays. These wheels on my Accord Euro are Prodrive, which are made by Rays in Japan. They weigh about 7 kg each and I have never, and most likely will never see another pair on another car (hopefully). Definately a fantastic investment!
  17. G'Day! Top stuff on the car. I'm actually in the process of buying the exact same car from the exact same dealership. I'm interested in what you paid for it. If it's any cheaper than what they're offering me, I could use yours as ammo. Feel free to PM me if you deem it necessary. Thanks!
  18. I shopped around for the XR6T. They didn't give me the best price initally. Their dealer delivery is about $1250 accross the board I believe, however some dealerships will do it for $500. If you are eligable for the staff discount, you can basically shut them down and all they make is their dealer delivery. It's about the same with a fleet discount. Ford are releasing a 'bonus rebate' type thing to all it's dealerships on Monday. I won't find out the exact price until we find out what the rebate is on it. Could be $1000 could be $5000. Depends on how badly Ford want to liquidate their stock before the new one comes out I spose. If you're looking, make sure you ask them (after Monday of course) about this bonus thingy. You might get a good deal. If you're not in it for the tax savings, just buy something privately. But yeah, Ethridge isn't the best dealership ever, but I was and still am satisfied with their service. In saying that, I am yet to see them provide a service that goes above and beyond expectations. For example, my BA was delivered to me undetailed and with no fuel. So they filled it up twice, and got me to come back 3 days later and they detailed it. It's the little things in sales! I'll let you know how it all pans out with this bonus thingy. Cheers and thank you!
  19. LETS JUST ALL GO OUT AND BUY A PHOON! YOUR SHOUT! hehe
  20. Yeah, I thought, F it. The more I spend on the car the more tax I save each year. The lease quote for the XR6T was over 3 years. With this one, I just make it 5 years and it's not all that much more per month. I can't stop shaking. I keep having spasms.
  21. Yes, I did just come back from Ethridge Ford. Yes, I did just put a deposit on a 6 speed manual Lightning Strike F6 Typhoon Spec R. Yes, I am gobsmacked. Yes, I am about to wet my pants. Yes, I did test drive it. Yes, with any luck I'll have it next week. Anyone got a time machine so I can fast forward to wednesday? It's number 255.
  22. It was the staff discount to an immeditate family member. However I may still have to settle for a fleet discount because of the kind of lease I'm trying to get. This would bring it up to $43,332. However, I just got a call from the bloke at Ford while I was away, and he told me that the factory are refusing to build me a 6-speed manual. He reckons that they have stopped making them to allow for the changeover to the new model. He said they might do an Auto but not a manual. So I'm not very happy now, I was hoping to get a 2008 build. Now I'll have to settle for something that has already been built in 07. They have to do the ring around to find the closest thing they can find to what I ordered. Not happy Jan. Now I'm considering waiting for the new model, however I'm terribly impatient and I have no idea when the new XR's will be released So now I don't know what to do? Just have to wait and see what they come up with I spose.
  23. Great idea. Should have been bought in years ago. You can never really tell from 0 - 100 stats how quick a car really is. It's like when you rock up next to an AWD/4WD on the freeway or a main road and you both have a squirt and you romp it. Strange feeling when stats say it should leave you looking for a NOS button. I'm guessing the tests are done by engaging the clutch (if there is one) and just flooring it... Good topic! P.S. Links don't work...!
