APS kits are nuts. I went to school with Pete Luxon's kids so I got to ride in their silver Unichip BA XR6T (amongst the other 20 cars in their personal garages) when it had over 415rwkw. It was just a sickening amount of power. I'm seriously considering getting the Capa flasher as well, but if I get dicked, RACV woudn't be too happy and neither would Ford I imagine. I'd love to know if anyone does use it and flash it back to stock when they get it serviced etc. on an F6 and how much power they get from it. I drove down to Nizpro the other day and spoke to one of the guys there, and he said an F6 will have from 210rwkw to 220rwkw stock, and for $3,500, they'll do injectors, cat and capa flash/custom tune resulting in around 290rwkw with 20,000k 12 month warranty that covers anything and everything. So tempting! And I've only had the f*cking thing since last Wednesday week! P.S. MADF6, now that you're a soon-to-be owner of a new F6, you should donate and reap the benefits!

HOORAY! Another Lion-lover converted. Don't worry, I was one too... The R Spec population on this forum is growing steadily. Congrats mate. Where abouts are you and which dealership did you get it from?
-
Well done! You just wait until the thing is run in and you can tramp the first 3 gears to 160 within 500 metres! IT'S FUN! I did it last night with a mate in the car and he was holding the mobile phone presenter like it was a jesus bar Where did you get it from?
-
He better have. Damnit, I should have told him to drop a nice juicy fart in the sales office at Ethridge for me. Bunch of wankers.
-
You still here? Hurry up and buy it. Here's a teaser for you. You won't look back mate.
-
Sean what mods have you got to run a 13.4?
-
I was told the bonuses only apply to registered models (demos) that's why I paid what I did. I got a good discount, but it wasn't $56k!
-
That's a pretty good deal mate. Is that the one at Ethridge? I paid almost $6,000 more for an unregistered one about a week ago. That's an awesome deal. Trust me. BUY IT! Also bare in mind, although the new model might seem very attractive, I suggest you wait until all of the bugs are ironed out of it. Nothing worse than having a lemon first model (been there, done that). Buy the F6 (you'll never look back) and upgrade to the Orion in a few years time when they're at their best. Besides, those honeycomb wheels from the XR5 and the Mondeo they're putting on them are f*cking awful! Hopefully FPV can put some decent rims on them.

HAHAHAAA Oh lordy you guys make me laugh... You'll find something you like eventually. Dealers make it easier to go and see the car and test drive it, if you can put up with the sh*t dribbling out of the salesman's mouth. You can email and SMS private sellers and usually they're pretty helpful in answering questions. It's just organising a look and a drive that can be a pain in the bot bot. My advice is to look at both dealer and private until you find exactly what you're looking for. Just try and get low k's for a low price. Don't be fooled by cosmetic stuff that can easily be fixed, it's the mechanics that you need to really look at. Good luck dude.

T's do that. Phoons run a different tune (so Nizpro tells me) with 1.2psi more on average.
-
All turbos have a maximum boost pressure they run through most of the rev range, then when you start to head towards redline the pressure dies slightly. My phoon runs just over 7psi at 3000rpm then at about 5200rpm it tapers off to around 5psi. Which means the wastegate opens slightly to let the excess out around the wheel. A turbo can basically hit it's choke flow and 'run out of breath' depending on it's rating or the maximum pressure it can produce. In some cases the engine already has enough air when the revs are close to redline and does not need the turbo to force any more in. In smaller engines with smaller turbos, upgrading the turbo can allow you to run a constant boost pressure all the way to redline. Otherwise, they can stuff around with the boost control. If you google it you should get some good forum results. I think it's also in howstuffworks.com. I wouldn't worry about it, you're not really losing power because Barra's only have 6000 revs. It you were in an SR20 or an RB20 or 26, it can give you a little more power at peak revs.

What is performance mode? Doesn't this just change the shift points? I am amazed at how many people have autos on this forum. I thought autos were for women? They are soooo boring! Why do so many people on here drive autos? It's really bugging me!
-
Yeah I realised that today after he pointed it out. In my XR6, you just press the thing and tracco goes off. I laughed my ass off the first time I did it properly thinking of the post where he says 'are you sure you wanna do that?' lol Plus, it's so much more fun taking tracco off in the wet. It's just so easy to glide around corners at whatever degree I can hang it out. After a while it's like you're driving normally. And minimal tire wear!

Dude you should have gotten a normal sized plate on the back! Then we coulda looked a little more similar. We definately need to get our two beasts on the streets for a cruise. They would look mad side by side! You probably shouldn't be putting your foot flat to the floor if you've got under 1000kms on the car. It might not like you in future. Looks sensational dude, enjoy it. Mine just clicked over 1000kms and when I floor it in first, the rears start spinning when it hits full boost. I never knew it had that much power! P.S. Trust me, they have plenty of body roll still. In my opinion, the struts are not stiff enough. They made them a little softer for all the soft cocks out there. hehe

AAAAHAHAHAHA I might just hang a massive AGB borry near the door when I come in, wipe my sticky sh*t encrusted ass with my hand and overenthusiastically run around shaking everyone's hand like I'm mentally challenged next time I go in a Ford dealership.
-
Yeah they told me it was usually done at the next sheduled service, however they didn't feel compelled to tell anyone about it unless they asked or had an issue with their rear brakes. They are doing mine next time I take it in. But I've got the phoon now so I never drive it and can't be stuffed taking it in so I'll do it just before I sell it.
-
Can you please describe this handbrake swoosh noise? I've been having issues with the back disks on the BA, and I think it's the handbrake that causes the back wheels to squeek under light braking. They told me that the rear brake lines were recalled and need to be replaced at the next service, however I don't think that would solve the grinding and squeeking. This could be the same issue? Then again, I heard that the handbrake is on the rear axle and not connected to the rear disks on Falcons?

Hey mate. I almost bought a T before I found myself in an R Spec Typhoon. Here's my quotes from carbon copy contracts I signed... 2007/2008 BF MKII Xr6 Turbo (6 speed manual)(which they wouldn't build me) Tow Pack Reverse Sensors Fog Lamp Guards Momo Steering Wheel Luxury Pack Ipod jack Sunroof XR Scuff Plate Inserts Privlidge Club Discount (Staff Discount) was $39,879 onroad Fleet Discount was $43,332 onroad. Without all those options, the car should be around $32,000 with the staff discount, and around $37,000 for a fleet discount. If you like the look of them, go and haggle a dealer for an 07 built BF MKII now that you know how much they are really worth... Jump on youtube and check out the new orion videos and search some pics on google. If you like the shape and features of them (of what we can all see with the bras on) then wait around for it. However, you'll end up paying a lot for the first one. It's like a PS3. They were over $1000 when they came out, now they're like $650 detailed, unregistered and fully optioned (/joke) Good luck with it mate.

Wondering if anyone has or know anyone who has put an APEXi RSM in a Phoon or an XR? I have one in the Euro and it's great for times and figures and digital speed, but I'm not sure where to put the thing. I was thinking in the tissue box location slightly anged up so passengers can have a geezer too... Do they even work in Fords?
-
Do they mail you this certificate? I never got anything from the dealer, just the log books, locknut and IPod thingy. What else did they give you?
-
Sorry to disappoint you, but there's two other Bionic R Specs. One for sale in SA and another in NSW http://www.carsales.com.au/used-cars/deale...ue&Make=FPV and number 178 http://www.carsales.com.au/used-cars/deale...ue&Make=FPV I just didn't want you to look silly in your signature. Cheers man

I rang the dude and I'm gonna take it back in on Tuesday and get them to respray the spoiler. I can't be buggered going in there but I dont want people saying 'ooh new car and you've already f*cked it ooh'. *slap* Plus the traction control button needs The Force to make it activate. I almost put my finger through the button the other day. Godda love going back to the dealer 3 days after you bought it for warranty issues.
