I'm having the same dilemma mate. To tune or not to tune. Once I have the cash, I'll be back on that Nizpro dyno in no time. I'm tipping I'll get an edit and custom tune in the next few months. Just go for it. You only live once. Just make sure you have some sort of savings you can dip into if something badly screws up.

They feel very different mate, but you will not regret a turbo. If you went to a small engined turbo you might, but the sound and thrill a turbo 6 provides is hard to match. My father drove big thumping V8's all through my childhood, and still does. The day I picked up the phoon I drove to his place and let him have a drive, and he has converted! When I was younger, I wanted a V8, but as soon as I had a ride to and from the Calder drags one Friday night in 2004 in Pete Luxon's silver XR6T test mule, I never wanted anything else (apart from a GT-R) but the point is, f*ckin go for it and don't look back!

Depending on who you get to tune your car, a simple custom tune on your stock car using the capa flasher will get you well into the 250+ rwkw mark, which would be well over 330kw at the fly. If you want to limit your power to roughly 300 kw for daily use, then just run the middle tune on your capa box, which would be for 95RON petrol for example, then if you get a craving you can load the third, or 10psi tune. That's generally how it works. If a standard BF MKII XR6T is badged at 245kw at the fly, they should expect on average 182rwkw. If an F6 is badged at 270kw at the fly, they should expect on average 200rwkw. If you look at all of the standard readouts from most of these two cars, they're quite similar. As we know they're all different, coz F6's usually pull 210rwkw to 230rwkw stock (depending on the dyno too) but every car is different, obviously. Can someone who dyno's these things put their 2 cents in?

I asked 3 of the FPV peeps at the motor show about the badges and they all said I'd have to wait until they are released. If you ask me, they knew absolutely f*ck all about the cars and were just there to take comments. Great job there FPV. Thanks for the insight!

I hope you're right! We all know that the plates on them are bullsh*t. My stock F6 had 285kw at 3000 clicks and would most likely have more now it's run in, and my mate's stock CV8Z Monaro has 254kw (badged at 240). This is based on rwkw figures multiplied by 1.34, but the point remains the same! Edit: Plus V8s are boring...

Some dickface on ebay was trying to sell FGGTP for $25,000. Then he dropped it to $20,000, then he dropped it to $14,000. I mean seriously, who in their right mind would pay over $1000 for those plates. What a knob. Also, he had $50 postage on it. If someone bought number plates off me for over $10,000 I'd hand deliver them!

The R-SPEC also has 'Thunder Storm Grey' rear spoiler pillars as well, which the normal F6's don't have.

I'm pretty sure they used to be different however now they both use a Garrett GT3540.
