R-SPEC

They threw me the keys to this today at Ethridge Ford in Ringwood. Spotted F6TEEN getting a service too I easily managed to get 2nd gear to sh*t itself a few times. Syncros were either worn (1200kms on the odo) or it's just a sh*t gearbox. It even didn't let me select 2nd at one point for over 5 seconds because it was too busy grinding itself. I only had it for 15 mins and totally forgot to try out the launch control Its pretty quick for a stock car for $65g's! Power delivery is unlike a turbo's traditional feel. One of the reasons I like turbos so much is because of the hit you get when they spool up. In this car you get don't get that kick, which IMO is too grandpa. The power however does hold till redline and pulls hard between 5 and 6k, whereas mine drops off at 5k. The shift beeper no longer has a standard beep, it stops beeping as soon as you get out of redline. The seat position and height are great and helps with a lankey 6"3 like myself! The screen is too far away from driving position and you can't glance at it with the shift of the eyes like a BA/BF. Suspension was a big let down. If that is what the normal F6 feels like then I'm happy I bought an R Spec. I know people think there's not much difference with an R Spec, but there is a lot when you step out of one into the other! This thing felt like a boat... Overall I give it a 7/10. Simply because it's one of the ugliest f*cking cars I have ever layed eyes on. Buy a BF MKII! Video:

This is a farkin sexy car and in my opinion has outdone the sh1t out of any HSV! How good is the lip spoiler on the tail Edit: What a mad colour. I'm sure there'll be a heap of these floating around in a few months!

That's exactly what I thought... Lowering the centre of gravity improves handling immensely. That's first class in 'Suspension 101' isn't it? I might get them done next week.

Spotted an FG 310 on the back of a truck this morning. I've got a date with one on Tuesday! The manager from Ethridge Ford emailed me yesterday: "We've got an FG F6 on tuesday for an hour or so. If you can make it I'm happy to throw you the keys!" It just so happens it's my day off! WOOHOO!

I used to have a run with supercharged commos in my old 5-speed BA XR6 (now SubJimbo's fine automobile) and I'd kill them. I had more torque and more power. They would rattle their heads off and only really make any power when they hit high revs, whereas my Barra would pull me a car in front as soon as the clutch was engaged. The CV6 Monaros were the best bate at the time... So I harly believe your VS would beat a BA N/A XR6 if both were stock!
