From memory there's a bit of a story involved I've got them, CMS still rates and fits them, good enough for me

  5. 1 organic + 1 ceramic Don't know if it has its own model code but AFAIK its basically the 260mm STP-02 coppermix twin with plate swapped for a ceramic Pretty sure I was originally quoted $2700 for the twin organic direct from NPC incl ARP bolts and freight to Sydney As I posted earlier, the twin organic is originally what I was going for, but a chance conversation with Scotty changed my mind and sh*t I'm happy about that so far Drives as nice as stock or the mantic (which apart from high take up was nice on the street) but more bite and way better feel So..... I still don't know what a bitch clutch feels like lol
  6. Got the ute back on Friday arvo with the new NPC dual friction clutch. Done 100km since and so far am very impressed. Take up point is much lower than the previous Mantic clutch, which was stupidly high, I had just gotten used to it. It has a much more positive feel to it as well Tbh am really enjoying just driving around taking it easy; but trying to get bedding in kays on it asap so I can give it the business Takeoffs and changes are still very smooth, but extra bite available is obvious. As far as noise goes. when idling with the clutch in you can hear the tiniest of tiny rattles from the ceramic plate - I would put good money on no passenger ever picking it. Under load in second or third there is a small amount of noise between 1500 and 1750 but that's it New NPC Old Mantic The mantic is a heavy bitch - came in at 25kg on the scales which isn't surprising looking at it Installer was Scott at Western Clutch at St Marys. Can't recommend these guys enough; small family business that are good at what they do Service is second to none, price I believe was pretty good... $3100 fitted incl ARP bolts etc etc Also got them to dump and replace gearbox oil - they used Penrite Pro Gear 70W-75 and it feels like a new box Edit Looks like I've sort of claimed this thread, no issue if mods want to move this post to my thread though info may be useful to others

    Plazmaman

Short answer, yes you can just bolt that kit to your stock engine but you're going to reach the limit of other parts like injectors and exhaust etc before you get full potential of the plaz kit Depends whether you want to go mild, marginal or wild really Work out your end power goal and do a bit of research on here Plenty of build threads - start in the 300kw section if that's where you're aiming at, massive amounts of helpful info on this site IMPORTANT - need to work out who is going to tune it and talk to them before you buy anything Some clown on the internet can tell you anything but they're the ones who have to work with it As far as finding a good tuner, again do your research but if you're after recommendations and you're in Sydney, can't go wrong with CMS in Prestons or Autotech in Granville, there are others but these guys have a great reputation with these cars As far as driving to your tuner after install, will depend on what mods, eg. I drove 15km for my last tune with new turbo, intercooler and air intake without dramas That was previously tuned as well, if modding from stock will be safer Can't stress enough importance of keeping off the boost and basically just babying it there Hope that helps This is the magic button
  11. Yeah not sure what the go is there, I must've lost details in translation, will ask again I saw a pic of the two side by side and as u said they are same height Dropping off the ute this arvo and getting the new clutch put in. Last week was all set to go for NPC twin plate organic when Scott at western clutch mentioned in passing NPC's dual friction twin plate Better manners than a twin ceramic and take a bit more abuse than twin organic, sold!! Very keen to see how it goes
  12. ^^^lol Tocchi I know it doesn't really help but someone else has felt your reverse pain... see post #124 in this thread http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/84229-the-fluid-change/

    My Build

^^ Can confirm, we use Geordi a bit at work and they're a top notch supplier for that sort of fab work; do a nice job, reasonable pricing and short lead times

  16. Good timing ^^ Was just on the phone to western clutch today Once again can't recommend Scott highly enough for taking the time to discuss what I'm after https://m.facebook.com/pages/Western-Clutch-Service/301451050027608?sk=reviews A look at their facesux page gives you an idea of the stuff they are doing... from rebuilding a triple plate for a destroked (2.65L) DFV V8 Cosworth turbo F1 engine making 880hp and revving to 11000rpm... to tough jap cars and plenty of fords and expensive daewoos Anyhow He has fitted a few twin plate organic xtremes to commonwhores and says regardless of the general lack of refinement they can hold the power ok BUT he has noticed they are prone to spline wear. Comments? He gave me a kick arse price to supply a twin plate organic NPC with ARP bolts, balancing etc etc...so I'm going with NPC I know it will do the job and more... will just have to do a few more cashies lol Another comment about the NPC... NPC told me themselves that something to do with clearances, with their organic twin plate you can't use a commonwhore type / billet csc and a standard replacement csc is the only option. Anyone else heard this? Scott has got around the issue and can use an alloy csc replacement interested to know if that's common knowledge or what... Might be another few weeks before I can get time to get the ute over there and all installed but will update when it happens.
  17. If you're worried about cost, emissions, legality and looking standard then maybe modifying cars isn't really your thing
