I assume you mean that's the only size the shop you're looking at has? Grid comes in other offsets in 19x9.5 eg. +20 @bamk2f6tornado they'd fit wouldn't they?
-
Mate you don't have to replace the whole thing...normally an exhaust shop would cut out the muffler (if that's what it is) and re-weld in a new one, not a big job. Take it to an exhaust place instead or source a replacement section
-
Yeh I get it, was just taking the piss I sort of mis-read your first post though, no you can't un-bolt a muffler and replace on a stock XR6 exhaust, they are a welded assembly. Yes there will be a flanged joint near one end of one of the mufflers, but this is just for ease of fitting/removing the whole system, not to replace mufflers. (not sure what you actually asked the mechanic but the method of removing the whole system was maybe what he was referring to) This is what it will look like. How much did he quote you?

Rattle in a townhouse area would be the yobbos with their paint cans sneaking up on you Keep to the more affluent suburbs and you'll be sweet jokes aside...which muffler? Assume it's in an NA not a turbo?

@Hezabot 2k is cheap for a turbo back quad stainless exhaust sysyem that will flow 550rwkw if required Xforce=cheap
-
You don't want cheapest, you want quality You have a BA XR, but bought an FG F6 motor for it You'd rather pay 3k for something that works than 1.5k for something that isn't what you want (..?) You like your brother's cheap exhaust You're really confusing me buddy So what you want is a quad tip exhaust, xforce make them as keef said, don't know if too many others do off the shelf Google tells me CAPA sells them as well, whether they make them inhouse or are any good I've no idea. http://www.capa.com.au/ford_exhaust.htm Nizpro will do a custom version of their exhaust if you ask and have the $$$ handy. Xforce quality can be sub-par, they'll let you make the power but construction is rough and ready in my experience at least, I've had to re-weld my dump pipe flange at least twice due to the material cracking which seems to be a common fault over time. Mine is a mild steel system though, about 6 years old. If I were you and wanted a quality staino quad system that I wasn't scared to spend coin on, I'd get one custom made exactly the way I wanted.

@genuine honest person too quiet by far in here mate How's the ute going? -
Dual exhausts are generally accepted as less droney @Hezabot if you want a quality twin exhaust that'll handle 550rwkw then a Manta dual 3" would have to be one of the highest flowing exhausts off the shelf out there. Pricey though. http://www.mantapro.com.au/exhausts/ford-falcon-ba-bf-turbo-4-0l-6-cylinder-sedan-all-models-inc-xr6/ If you let them know your setup they could supply you an FG dump pipe and remainder of the system to suit BA, any mods needed at the dump pipe end should be extremely minor and they'd be able to do. If you can handle (some) drone then get a single 4" with dual tips for maybe half the price from say xforce; or nizpro (more expensive and hated by some) or SMB do a top quality unit. Otherwise just go a reputable exhaust shop and get a full custom setup.

Welcome to #truetraclyf Steve, they're a Good Thing. One thing I noticed with the truetrac is how quickly the rear end snaps back into line when you're good and sideways. Not hard to get used to, but if you're not expecting it, oppy lock can quickly turn into "Oh cock"

My opinion fwiw Exhaust cost sounds about right if that includes fitting. 2200 for xcal plus tune is a bit exxy, around 1500 is the usual figure. No idea what that is Profile autosports in ormiston had a good rep on here, as does forced performance in Toowoomba, may be worth a call. Depending on brand - standard Bosch, kpm, ID's, etc - you can get 1000cc injectors for $700-800 supplied and fitted. My 2c, hope it helps

If you could get a 32"x14" MT drag slick under your BA's arse you'd be laughing... But MT ET street radials are what seem to be the go for these cars, don't waste your time looking for something to put on your 19's. As it turns out I noticed a guy on Ford Forums has a set in 275/40/17 on a pair of BA 17's that have done 6 passes for $500 Pretty good buy imho Link below https://fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?p=5917207 sh*t I am helpful eh

Mint... wheels look tough Still not sold on the FGX front end but the G6E is pick of the lineup stylewise imho

Turbo front brakes, whether G6ET or XR6T are 322mm Go to Race Brakes Sydney, talk to Matt and tell him they were recommended on the Ford forums Best price, great service. Grab some pads while you're at it, read this thread for recommendations but ignore freaky cos he can't make up his mind... http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/88776-fg-brake-upgrade/

I feel your pain. We've got friends who live about 100m down our street and some about 100m the other direction, still same street...they both have nbn connected, our section still doesn't. As a result, the last month or so our adsl has been getting overridden (or whatever tech word applies) at the telstra hub we're hooked up to, by all the new nbn congestion. Had 30 drop outs in a couple of hours the other day, actual speed is great at up to 20MB/sec but useless if you're not connected. Not bad during the day but come 6pm it's sh*te. Telstra has come out and so has nbn people, nbn guy hinted that the best way to deal with was to hassle telstra regularly dropping the 'O' word - ombudsman - and request to be relocated to a different hub, the current hub is 800m away which is apparently unusual in a suburban area but the next one may be less congested. Pretty much been downloading like mad during the day for any entertainment - not so bad when you get used to it.

Actually lol'd at that^ Nice work freaky, wish my mrs was so blissfully unaware.
