@joffa1 Pitlane Automotive in Frankston has a very good reputation on here @Rab and a number of others will vouch for his skills

Ah fair enough makes sense. Was pissing me off a while back looking for tyre info and "rs3" was coming up with 0 results lol

Can't find all the posts I remember reading so disregard for now... Mind you, not saying they haven't got a lot of happy customers or that they don't put out some tough cars. Just that on here I've read plenty of rdp feedback, some good some not so flash. Plenty of other tuners with far "worse" reviews if you like, but as far as qld goes I'm struggling to remember reading much (if anything) negative about profile autosports, forced performance in Toowoomba or CPV in mckay. My 2c fwiw. Only example of what I could find, weak effort tbh http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/90220-rdp-tuned-fg-f6/?tab=comments#comment-1536207 @k31th Keef if you put "rdp" in the search bar what do you get? Its possible to get "0 results" for a word that's on the last page you looked at...

Being from nsw never personally dealt with either of these tuners but have only ready good things about profile on here, RDP on the other hand...

WIDTMYC Fri night ~9.30 Decided after a few hefty scotches with family (2yo daughter's bday party) that the sooner my rear guards were given a trim the sooner I could fit the new rims. In the driveway with a work light, masking tape, 5" grinder and brotherly/brotherly-in-law (constructive-ish) criticism...result wasn't so pretty but oh well. Mossies were getting fierce and audience had disappeared inside so host's conscience got the better of me after doing one and I went back to scotch and cake. Sat Finished the other guard, fitted all 4 rims, tightened axle U-bolts & other rear bolts, then exhaust manifold, turbo & dump pipe bolts/nuts. Stuck some masking tape strips in the rear guards - half on the guard return edge and half free inside - then took it for a drive. Felt fine, didn't feel any scraping and marks on the tape shows there seems to be enough clearance now. Sun Washed it for first time this year. Had no tyre shine left but comes up alright for a 9.5yo work hack. Am convinced the usual film of dust & grime protects the paint lol Hope all pics show up for once. Will have to get some in a different light, colour of rims doesn't show up that great in the pics.

New injectors and e85 probably the only way to make it worth it on stock turbo

As arron says I'd be going with a t56 if you're going the manual route at all Even when tuned to suit and driven sympathetically it seems high 300s (rwkw) is the max they can handle behind a barra for any length of time; the mid range torque of these motors murders them Nothing like a '93 model but may be of interest anyway: https://www.mustang.org.au/forum/index.php?topic=20846.0 -
I've got a spec list for the series somewhere...nothing too crazy on them

Despite coming from a state of serial killers & power blackouts, these^ two add a lot of value to this forum -
In a case like that what happens to all the old V8 utes? Snapped up by privateers and modified further for other competition use? Stripped for spares? My first thought was there may be a few spare Mal wood tramp rod kits floating around....mint condition 1 lady owner lol

This should be @Mustangman570 If you're going to the trouble of importing a barra I doubt it's to baby it on the school run. What sort of power are you aiming for? Big factor on pump gears is whether you're running auto or manual trans; manual being much more likely to destroy them. I'm making approx 440rwkw/590rwhwp (manual) on std gears but my sphincter tightens every time I bump the limiter and I'll eventually upgrade the whole pump. Atomic has a refurb/swap pump option with billet gears, end plate, bypass circuitry and a few other little tricks which I'll be going for, I have a pump I pulled from a N/A donk sitting in the garage for when the time comes. http://www.atomicperformanceproducts.com/oil_pumps_&_components.html Can't help on 4.6/5.4 valve springs or other parts sorry. @Puffwagon @ratter @JETURBO ? -
As in kill ya brother? "Cane" I agree with you...but then I'm 13 years outta school lol

There's been a few helpful catch can threads recently but this one is the latest so thought I'd post up here. Went to supercheap the other day to check out their calibre catch cans. Finding out that they don't have anything in the way of filters or baffles in them I thought I'd make my own instead. I've done a bit of research on here and in general, plenty of helpful stuff around, a few links that may help anyone looking for more basic info on the subject http://www.enginebasics.com/Engine Basics Root Folder/Catch_Can.html http://speednation.com.au/do-I-need-an-oil-catch-can/ https://www.redline-motorworks.com/blogs/news/50063555-how-does-an-oil-catch-can-work-and-why-is-it-beneficial So if I'm going to go to the effort of making my own catch can(s) - and I need to, fair bit oil residue in the intake when I changed the oil the other day - I may as well do a decent job. The scribble below is one of the ideas I'm thinking of, the other was more relying on baffles than a filter whereas this is a little bit of both. Pot to be a piece of 3" staino tube with domed tube cap or just a flat base and a drain, top end of tube has a ferrule union (hygienic union we use regularly at work and readily available); ferrule welded on the 3" tube, a ferrule cap for the top and standard seal between, just a hand-tightened clamp connection so top is easily removed if required. Inlet goes through the top of the can, say a 5/8" or 3/4" tube welded to the ferrule that ends in a 45~90deg bend to avoid blowing any oil in there around. A ring welded to the ID of the 3" tube supports stainless steel wool 'filter'. The filter is clamped in position by another (overlapping - sort of a baffle) ring welded to the OD of the inlet tube, outlet is above running back to the intake. Welded bracket for mounting. Thoughts? TL;DR Pic above is a new way to steam asparagus, cheers
