looks great mate, what suspension setup did you go with for that height?
-
Stop f*cking around with rubbish and order a turbo side intake and you can dose for days.

FG plenum has seen well over 500rwkw, its designed a lot better than the b series manifold.
-
Good stuff, The old one needed updating a long time ago, worth a sticky I reckon.
-
But I though the higher number means the centre wheel hub (where the wheel bolts on, is moved further away from the centre of the rim (outwards from the car) Wouldn't that mean the Less the number the closer the spoke will come to the brake?

Hey guys I'm looking to get the vertini dynasty wheels and had a question regarding offset. Its for a FG ute with normal brake callipers. I'm going for the concave look so I plan on getting 10" rears with +15 offset. The fronts I want 8.5" but not sure what offset to get? The ute in the below photo has 8.5" +20 on the front but he has to clear his brembo's, would I be able to go 8.5 + 10 or +15?

Yes new wheel also sorry. Had the ute on the hoist last week and found that one of the exhaust pipes was rubbing on the Tail shaft, where the 2 piece shaft joins in the middle, Took it to an exhaust place on the weekends and he welded in an extra bracket, lowering the exhaust, all good now. Also got him to weld in the EGT probe in the dump pipe while I was there. Im now on the hunt for new wheels, leaning towards the Vertini Dynasties in black.

Good stuff mate, love the Gold on the fgx, welcome to the forums

So I got the EGT probe welded into the dump pipe today and the exhaust lowered a fraction more as one of the pipes was rubbing on the tailshaft where it connects in the centre. Was also wondering about how legal is everything I have under the bonnet? Should I need to worry about police defecting anything? Cheers
-
So I got the bung welded in today and the probe set, when cruising it usually sits around 350-400degree, and increases when your on the pedal.
-
Of course! Not that id know what readings I'm actually looking at. I don't even know what EGT readings to expect lol.
-
Is your probe in the dump pipe? I know the best place for them is before the turbo, but I'm not bothering doing it in the manifold. Just going to be in the dump pipe.
-
Just to keep an eye on things, good way to know if its running lean etc, I know that heat is the main killer of these engines. Can never be to careful!

Hey guys, Im taking the ute in to get the temperature probe sensor welded into my dump pipe, the exhaust is already fitted to the ute and I was wondering do I need to worry about any swarf/metal filings going into the dump pipe, my way of thinking is being after the turbo I shouldn't have anything to worry about? All they need to do is drill about a 10mm hole and weld the fitting in place. Thanks

Garrett Actuator, 40mm Inconel Flapper, Hand ported Waste Gate, Locking tabs, Studs and Nuts, running 16psi.

Love the manta, as soon as it arrived I knew it was a really nice piece of kit, welds are perfect and the stainless grade feels like good quality. Felt completely different to the exforce stainless. Instead of the middle muffler I got resonators instead, So it has twin cats, twin resonators and a rear muffler. The system is loud, very deep and throaty, but there is almost zero drone at 100kmh. Loud through first second and third when on the revs. Not sure if its legal loud or not.

Well the ute has been in at the tuners all week getting the Valve springs, surge tank, exhaust, turbo, injectors and tune completed. I went in this morning and picked her up. The Ute made about 375rwk in 35 degree heat, the boost was then dialled back a fraction, and now has a Road tune and is making 367rwkw at about 16psi. Possibly a fraction more in better temperatures. Has been raining all day today so haven't been able to open her up yet but first impressions are amazing! Would like to thank the guys at Blue power for making it all happen, great service

If yours is the old type pipe with the kind of 45 degree silicon joiner that goes onto the throttle body you should be ok, as that pipe comes back further before it kicks up straight. They told me the reason they changed from that pipe is that people were having clearance issues with bonnet.
-
The cold side piping is 70mm which will fit through the hole without cutting it out, Although we had an issue with the last pipe that goes to the throttle body coming in contact with the battery once relocated to that side. (apparently plazmaman have updated this pipe) So to get around that issue we did end up cutting out the headlight hole a bit so we could get some more angle on the pipe. The best tool to use is a holesaw, just remove the drill bit and use a battery drill while holding it on the angle you want. It was actually really easy because there is already a concave its quiet easy to get the holesaw to grab where you want it to. Its all plastic so it doesn't take to much effort.

Well the time has come to begin the modifications on my manual 2014 Octane Xr6 Turbo Ute. I Purchased the ute a few months ago, with 19thous on the clock I planned to wait until the warranty had run out, but I soon realised I couldn't wait that long Luckily I have access to a workshop with a hoist, so was able to do a few things with the help of the old man. List of modifications being done by myself: Process West Stage 1 Intercooler Plazmaman Stage 2 hot and cold side piping Plazmaman Battery relocation kit Plazmaman 4" Turbo Side intake Plazmaman P2 plumb back BOV Tripple Gauge Pod with custom gauges Alloy Header tank Reverse Camera Modifications being done by Bluepower: Manta twin 3" turbo back exhaust stainless steel SCT X4 Flash tuner Re gapping of spark plugs Cooler thermostat Bosch 1000cc Injectors Plazmaman surge tank with single 044 pump Ported hybrid turbo & Actuator mod Crow Race valve springs and retainers Earls turbo feed line upgrade. I was able to get a few days of free time this week, so over 2 days the old man and I went to work on the ute and managed to get the new intercooler in and piped up, the battery relocation done and the turbo side intake done, I was also able to wire up the new gauges and reverse camera. I haven't been giving the ute heaps until its tuned, but the sound of the turbo side intake is amazing, the thing screams now. Having a small issue with the BOV not working correctly at the moment so its currently dosing very loud, but it should just be a matter of adjusting the spring tension to fix that up and quiet things down a bit. Like any kit that is supposed to be a straight fit, we ran into a couple of small problems, but was able to sort every thing out relatively easy. Having a hoist made everything about 1000 times easier. The car is booked in to the tuners tomorrow to have the rest of the work done. Photos: The day I got her When the new Cooler arrived The new cooler going in Everything piped up Header tank installed Beginning to wire up the gauges Gauges installed and working Decided to reveal the new intercooler a bit more Manta Twin 3" arrived

I to and wondering about this!

Just wondering if this test ever went ahead? Still keen on knowing the results

Will probably go for the turbo flapper mod also, exhaust wise Id also be happy to upgrade. Have a mate selling a xforce mild steel turbo back system for cheap as he got the wrong one, but was originally wanting to go stainless. I wanted to go with the plaza stage 2 cooler but am thinking about the PW stepped cooler now only because if I ever want to return it to stock to sell, I won't have the front end all cut up. Really I suppose I need to go and speak with the tuner and work out a plan somehow.
