Last summer, after gas 'just' broke the $1/L barrier, I put $120 in my Jeep ('93 Grand Cherokee). We sold it. Now, with gas at $1.30/L, a tank's worth in the Saturn ('03 Vue) is about $65. At these prices, the Jeep would have cost nearly $160 ($168AUD)!!!

So, I see you guys get a kick out of Holdens being badged as Chevy's (even though Chevrolet dealers have never even heard of the cars). What would you say to a Late model camira with a Pontiac badge? Sounds ludicrous, but there'll be the slightest bit of merit to it now. The thought just struck me. That's all.

It's the 5.7 that screws them up. Even worse, we have dealers over here putting retro 327 badges on the new 5.3L LS4's (pickups and fwd V8's; Impala/Grand Prix/Buick Supers). The problem is it's a 325 and has no relation to the famed 327 SBC (also a 5.3).

Did he sign a Sex Contract first? If so, it wasn't rape.
-
Shame. You'd think a smaller V8 with turbo power would yield better fuel economy in everyday driving than a ten tonne 6.2L DOHC n/a unit would.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml.../wwombat127.xml "I’ll retract the rape complaint from the wombat, because he’s pulled out. Apart from speaking Australian now, I’m pretty all right you know. I didn’t hurt my bum at all." What would possess someone to call the cops for this?

No, I'm just a big fan of Blue Ovals and Bowties (Rearing Lion's?).

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/News/articleId=125413 The article talks about Ford's new World Large RWD platform, and plans for TT power plants. The surprise comes with word of a TT 5.0L V8 in development along side the often talked about upcoming TT 3.5L V6. A dual clutch 6-spd (auto shifting manual) will be a big deal to fans of the ZF as well. Ford's new RWD platform is being engineered to accommodate both V6 and V8 engines, including the new twin-turbo gasoline direct-injection TwinForce power plants that are being developed in Dearborn, as well as the company's new dual-clutch six-speed PowerShift transmission. Among the TwinForce engines reportedly under development for North America are a 3.5-liter V6 and a 5.0-liter V8.

There's also no denying that an automatic is my grandmother's preference as well.

Worse than a badge job, a paper mache 'Vette job on a Honda. http://edmonton.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-...QQAdIdZ43390172

I was a WoW user for a little over a year, and loved it. This game opened up the MMORPG genre for me. But the day The Lord of The Rings Online (LOTRO) hit the shelves I switched. I would like to still have WoW, but I just can't justify two $15/mon. subscriptions. The nice thing about WoW is that they keep your characters on the server if you end your sub., so you can buy a game card and pick up where you left off. I know I was on Killrog, but I can't remember the other server. LOTRO is everything WoW is but with graphics five times better. There is no PvP, or at least there wasn't at launch (in Middle Earth, an Elf would never fight another Elf), but they may have added a Duel feature. I never played PvP in WoW, so it's not important to me. If you want to attack other players, you can play as an Orc or Uruk or Troll, and venture out to raid anyone (flagged for Duel or not). Crafting is very complex (growing pipeweed is a comical twist), and yields some awesome gear. You can even buy houses in housing communities, with three house types for each of the four races (Human, Hobbit, Dwarf, Elf) from a two room to a multi-level Kinship (guild) house. You can decorate the place with items from around Middle Earth, that you can buy or craft. Even stuffed trophy's, like bears or Troll heads. If you're a Tolkien fan, there is no other MMO, in my opinion. The level of story depth and visual detail are intense. And you can get a horse at level 35. 2 days will get you interested. 2 weeks will keep you planted. Nice. A friend bought my Dark Elf Rogue a yellow tabby one time. It was pretty comical to be fighting a bear with your kitty by your side.

If I drive it every day, it can be an auto. Anything that needs the fun factor of a manual is probably not a very economical DD. But for my car, I'll always want a manual. You own a weekend warrior so you can get in and rip snort everywhere you go. I'd rather feed my own power delivery.

Was there a model change between the Boss 290 and the Boss 302? The cars look identical on the outside, other than a striping package and a bigger bulge in the hood. I don't know, up until now I always thought the Falcon got a new update every time you turned around. I remember reading about all these people selling off their XR6T's when the newfangled Auto came out. You guys were raving about it. Did that kill the resale of autos from the year before?

I should also mention, the 'yanks' (just the people in the Northern US? It's like calling all Australians Queenslanders ) are using the 4.6L in their Mustangs and full size cars, but on the flip-side, you guys are using the 5.4L Truck motor for everything. Only the Shelby GT500's and the old GT used that engine. Looks like bigger is working for you guys too. I'm not looking to become public enemy #1 here, but I felt that finger should be pointed back. Remember, a 4.0L I6 is a f*cking huge straight six turbo. I personally don't think it's a bad thing.
-
What does displacement have to do with it, if the fuel economy and output are comparable? The LS3 is physically smaller and a fair bit lighter than that 5.4L, so yes, I guess it is in how you use it. What matters: 317kw (436hp) 550nm (428lb/ft) 190kg(420lbs) 14.5L/100km 302kw (405hp) 540nm (398lb/ft) 298kg (656lbs) (got this weight off another Australian Ford forum, so I can't say how accurate it is) 14.7L/100km The intelligence comment would make a lot more sense if you'd have tried to get your spelling and grammar in order.

Power upgrades is perhaps the weakest thing I've ever heard someone complain about..... on an Enthusiast board to boot.

Ah. It looks like the media jumped the gun. Or Ford Australia is bent out of shape and plan to fight to keep the programme. http://www.leftlanenews.com/not-so-fast-fo...-to-the-us.html Honestly, I don't care where it's developed, and I feel it's just right for Australia to keep their programme, since they're the ones credited with building the car Ford North America should have been all along. But GM does have the G8 wrong. They should be building them here, like they will the Camaro, as well as in Australia as the Commodore. All said and done, I can't believe it's cheaper to ship them then retool.
-
hah! I think the only people answering are Ford of Europe........ wait, you guys still have killer Fords down there (is it PC to say 'down there'?). We've had spies of Falcons in Detroit over the past year, and Ford kept on denying any Falcon would make it to America. They had a good point, too. It would be a hard sell here to have a $60G Ford Sedan on the showroom floor, due to the weak dollar in the States and INSANE shipping costs. (GM [I've heard those are dangerous letters to say to an Aussie Ford fan] is now talking about the sh*t kicking they're taking whilst getting the G8 [Commodore] to our shores) I'm very excited to see Ford America finally get it together and bring us a decent (read awesome) RWD Chassis. I just hope they have the sense to use it in at least five different forms. Perhaps one of Ford's biggest successes was their Fox chassis, which sat under at least eight different cars between 1978 and 2004. It all fell apart when they moved the T-bird/Cougar to the MN-12 and kept the Mustang on the Fox with only the Lincoln Continental LSC to share it with. The Mustang really needed this. They've always had solid rears, but at least with the '03-04 Cobra, there was an IRS. But in '05 you were sh*t out of luck, even on the 'Shelby's (They're SVT's. Shelby's only real involvement in the car was to sign it).

http://www.leftlanenews.com/report-ford-ap...r-platform.html I thought you guys would get a kick out of this. It's about time Ford got their heads out of their arses. We won't be seeing the 4.0L I6, since it's due for a TT V6 replacement that has always been intended as a 'World Engine'.
-
The point of arse wipe isn't neatness; it's pure function. Facing out. And being a Drafter, folding is a required trait.

The sooner the better, imo. Our cars should be running on baby farts and puppy smiles anyway.

What a shock. Imagine Opec not wanting us to invest in renewable fuels. I'd hate to disapoint Opec. What a bunch of assholes.

I tried it for about an hour, but something was funky about flying. I'm hopelessly addicted to Lord of The Rings Online, though.

I'm barely holding onto 27.
