  4. it wont "overboost" , its hitting boostcut , as the tune is set for 8 psi. but will always boostcut due to the 11.8 psi actuator. if u have a 11.8 psi actuator on an 8psi tune u will always have issues. get a boost gauge so you can aleast give us an idea of what the boost is actully doing. have u tried talkin to ali , hes a good bloke and if there is an issue he will sort it. unless u swap actuators , your min boost level will be 11.8 PSI , anything under and the ECU will boostcut.
  5. now and then u see an ebay listinf for a sub box that sits on the side of the boot and takes little room , I run 2 of them and they are good, and you can make it removable
  6. OMGF , go and slap the jb-hi-fi tossa hard to the floor!!!!!!!!!!!! that is ONE of the most stupidest ideas ive ever heard! (typical of jb jockies though) please tell me you havent hooked it up this way yet! you will need an LOC , what model is your amp , there may be provison for high level input at speaker level (NOT RCA) if not I reccomend using the Audiocontrol LC6i (avalibale from your knob mate at jb) the lc6i its a great bang for buck LOC , and has a remote turn on to turn your amp on.
  7. sorry for the slow reply , what LOC are u using? active LOCS , will want a remote on to turn on like an amp does , provide this from ACC , (cig lighter) if u have a LC6i , it detects the sound(voltage) on the speaker input and turn the amps on! if your have a premo sound system. when your factory amp if plugged in , it tell the ICC to turn on 100Hz filters to the front and rear speakers. if your hooking up an aftermarket sub , this is not wanted if sorcing audio from the front or rear speakers. disconnecting the amp will allow full range of freqs to the speakers!
  8. pull em out and look for white marks powdery type snot. genuine only ! no aftermarket snot jobs! also try loading it up in gear and look for arcing
  9. yes but if his tune in "8psi" and his actuator is "11.8", its gunna boost cut anyway. to do the above mentioned mod get some 4 mm vac hose. remove line going to actuator , on the front cover of the turbo there will be a nipple that leads to the boost control solinoid( where the wastegate line goes also) remove this line and place the 4mm vac hose between the actuator and cove. this will limit the the boost to the wastegates actuator. also look at the actuator rod, is it threaded?, there may be some adjustment there , do you have a boost gauge?
  10. the car would run at 11.8+ commanded W/G DC , so its not possible to run 8 PSI, if its tuned for 8PSI , then its hitting boost cut for sure. got a boost gauge.? if not get one! was the tune done at the same time as the turbo? did ali install the turbo? ali is usually pretty good and road tests cars after dyno runs , also the it would have shown up on the dyno! have u loaded a different tune since the dyno?
  11. if your keeping it stock , there is no point doing any mods to the turbo at stock boost level. if I were u I get an exhust housing and get the mod and W/G actuator ready and fit be4 tune. Ali will look after you for all your needs.

  13. check shaft play, if its excessive send it for serivce and get flap and gate mod while its there also changing the actuator will require a tune. if its stock , changing the actuator wont be much benifit
  14. 2nd that , when I changed turbo the car was undrivable till tune , also try getting a bit of hose from the compressor output directly to the W/G , this bypasses the ECU boost control. I wouldnt drive round too long be4 tuning anyway
  15. I would then expect 0 at WOT not -20. so im thinking the ECU is commanding the T/B closed , we need more explation on "goes nowhere"
  16. no if hes getting boost under part throttle. id be doind some datalogging and paying attention to the the map value and and torque limit requests
  17. id still be keen on checking TDC on all pistons.
  18. pull the pipe off the TB and see if the noise changes
  19. must be cause my service advisor left, (I got mine from sinclar , (2 weeks late!!), cause they smashed the first one
  20. id be checking TDC hieght and leak down , @ 420 KW turning a rod into a u bolt wont take much

  22. well after doing what adjustments I can do with the Xcal , the car still has a problem small applications of light throttle result in oversteer and black lines everywhere, cant wait till I can put or that 20% throttle down!, tune time have parked it back in the garage till tune time
