Sorry to steal the topic, last night came to a set of lights and saw an Xr6T lined up... though to myself... "lets have a go"... looked inside the cabin... it was some old dude in a suit... prolly didnt even know what turbo did in his car

And yes I do appreciate a Barra T engine... I was thinking of buying an XR6T prior but then figured out Ive no need for 4 doors (young and single) and Id rather keep 12-15 K in my pocket as my Skyline was way cheaper for similar performance.

Looks like a chunky and bigger brother of WRX... I like it already, so ive no doubt itll grow on me even more later.

Ive got one in my line, dont think you need one in your XR. But then again youd be a dickhead giving it some stick 5 mins prior to stopping the car and turning the engine off. All turbos work the same, they overheat and need time to cool down, whether you cool it down while its getting lubricated (with turbo timer) as the engine is running or not (without turbo timer) is your choice... I cant see a turbo timer harming your xr6. Infact you can make one yourself for around 20 bucks... just go JayCar... I got a Blitz one in my car as it came with it, it also works with my immoboliser and alarm. Alternatively, dont boost it 5 mins prior you come home/work... I dont think turbo needs any boosting when the xr6 is on the freeway as it has a big barra to take care of that.

Nah, I think urs is fine mate. Mine does around 350kms which is pretty much normal mate. I know some ppl that are much worse off then us mate. ← You get 350 to a tank? How many mods you running? Also pardon the ignorance but how big is the tank? I get around 400 Kms out of the 65 litre tank... if I baby it then around 450 easy.

Isnt that technically a write off? Suspension is usually pricey to fix.

Apparently if you have a pod filter (K&N, apexi etc) you can hear the flutter or "whoosh" more... my car is stock too and I want to fit a pod soon just to see what noise it makes (as well as performance)

I'm using Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's on the rear. 275/30/19. I believe they are the best tyre you can buy. They used to be great but since the weather has cooled down I'm having trouble with traction. If I drive off from a set of lights normally then put my foot down my car will start laying rubber and won't stop till I back off. I think this is a combination of colder roads and cold tyres. They never used to loose traction when it was warmer. Geea. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> But then again you drive a 10 sec monster Yeah warmer tyres grip much better and its been freezing in Melb lately. Im prolly a black sheep on this site but I have a soft spot for Xr6Ts... love the phoon, but also loving this new R33 I just bought! The Skylines are a great car, possibly one of the best to come out of Japan. It would be interesting to see what some of the Japanese tuning houses could do with a "T". Well the T runs already nicely with APS tunes... spend about 5-10 grand and the car is a monster... you know for yourself Im coming from a stock VS V6 Late model camira into this Skyline and let me just say that the build quality as well as things like ride quality just surpass the commodore! that's the problem with the Fords and Holdens, they need to correct their build quality. Ts have an awesome engine... with heaps of potential, just those lil sh*tty patch ups need to be corrected! But then again most guys dont care about these things I guess. I havent been in a T as yet although my mates brother is getting the BF one soon. We might all go to Winton park... you been to there??

Do you guys find 19s kill performance? Yours look hot dude! My one has Pirellis on it with stock wheels and these grip like crazy... havent had a surprise skid yet!

Do you to have a fast cruiser? Auto. DO you want to throw it around the twisties? Auto hehe na unles its BF then go manual. Im lazy so I like autos, Melbourne traffic doesnt help with manuals either. Furthermore in a straight line autos beat manuals.

I may need to polish my car, how long did it take?

Winter is around the corner so hopefully the turbs will run even quicker!
