  1. Hi all, I had a weird symptom on my F6 in the last couple of days (warranty has just run out). The parkers would not work and the ICC wouldn't dim and the dash lights would not work. I traced this back to the column switch. These are designed quite poorly and a wire had broken inside. A quick solder and heat shrink tube and all was fixed, but it was a PITA to pull everything apart for this little wire. Just thought I would let you know in case you come up against the same symptoms. The other wires look as though they are not far away from splitting also. The car is only 3 years old. Rob.
  2. I have a 2006 F6 Typhoon in the 700's so that busts that myth!
  3. Hi Adam, I have just installed the same VGA-CGA converter you have used and have it plugged into my laptop for an initial proof of concept on my car. Can I ask what resolution and refresh rates you are using to get a clear image? I have tried 640x480 @ 60Hz but find it is more stable with a 70Hz input signal. I have also tried 720x480 @ 60Hz and this doesn't look too bad. Some smaller words are hard to read and I'm wondering if going to an ArcadeVGA card will be better as it has more resolution options. I also have some slight ghosting on the words (could possibly due to noise as I don't have sheilded cable for the test). What is the clarity like on your install on the smaller text? Your install looks great! Rob.
  4. I have had the same issues. One of the lugs won't stay in the footwell, causing the other to 'pop' out.
  5. Hey Steve, Nice to meet you too! Was a great night. PB for me too, a 13.5.....remembering it's fully stock at the mo! Looking forward to getting some mods under the bonnet when the warranty expires at the end of the year. Congratulations all that had a PB.....she was getting chilly towards the end of the night. Rob.
  6. Yeah, I would be interested also!
  7. One thing I've learnt from reading all 21 pages of this topic............always read from the last page forward! There's two hours of my night I just lost! Rob.
  8. Group buy has finished but you can still get them here: www.xtremeautogauges.com.au Rob.
  9. Yeah, that's exactly right......A Slow 6! Thought it was a bit of fun! Rob.
  10. The main things that did not show that I would have liked are as follows: Oil Pressure/Temp Battery Voltage HP Although the gauges are still being tested so these may be available in the future I guess. Things it does show that I like: Boost / Vacuum RPM CAT Temp Head Temp Coolant Temp Intake Air Temp Ambient Temp Transmission Temp MAP Sensor kPa Vehicle Speed Engine Load Throttle Position Ignition Advance Knock Retard Injector Pulse Width Short Fuel Trim Long Fuel Trim Fuel Level in % Current Gear (Even when in 'D' on the auto) Shift light works well and can be programmed on any parameter (eg, set to show when cooland goes over 95 degrees or when fuel level gets below 5% etc) Also the 0-100 and quarter mile feature is excellent. The quarter mile was about .4 second out but good to get an idea. 0-100 very accurate. Hope that helps! Rob.
  11. The OBD plug is a right angle plug so it sits nicely behind the fuse panel without any fouling. The cable was a bit of a pain to run as you need to get it up to the top of the dash. I took out the ICC and it was then easily accessable. Then just cable tied the cable to existing cable in the car. I got them on the web at XTreme Auto Gauges Australia. Rob.
  12. Hi All, Just thought I would post up a couple of pics of the gauges installed into the Phoon. Unfortunately the gauges are currently iimperial but will get changed over as soon as metric is available. I think they look great and are much more usefull than the phoon oil and boost gauge. Ran down the quarter mile on the weekend and the gauges are around .4 of a second faster than actual times, good for testing though and 0-100 times are acurate. Let me know what you think. Rob.
  13. 548m! Make sure you take the hand as far right as possible before reefing it over to the left. I won't stop till I can shoot his scrawney face 1000m! Oh just so you know, his head does 400m (Quarter Mile) in 11.34 Seconds! Rob.
  14. Cheers guys....I think the heat had a lot to do with it as I could feel by the bumometer that the car wasn't pulling as well as she does on a cool day / night. I will take her down the strip again when it gets a bit cooler, although I will probably put the edit in before then so won't be comparing apples with apples. I have the edit sitting here ready from my last car, was just waiting to get a few k's on the clock before installing. Here's a pic of the car on the day. Rob.
  15. Thanks guys for your replies. 13.8 is a quick car and I am still happy with the performance. I guess I have just been hearing all of these people getting into the 12's / Low 13's with stock phoons. I am guessing this is in the cooler months. I am getting used to the power now so may be time for some mods. Rob.
  16. Yeah stalling her up to around 1800RPM. Not much wheelspin off the line if any. The consistancy of the runs leads me to think that this is all the phoon was capable of on the day. Will have to try it when it's a bit cooler but the 13.820 is still a bit disapointing. Rob.
  17. Nope....ZF!
  18. Hi all, Went to a private meet at Willowbank Raceway yesterday and got a best time of 13.820 in the phoon. The air temp was sitting at 26 and the track temp was at 37-42 on the day so it was a little hot. I had 9 runs and they were amaizingly consistant which is a good thing for handicap racing! E/T's were as follows: (quickest ET through to slowest ET) 13.820 13.899 13.913 13.913 (this is not a misprint) 13.918 13.924 13.932 13.963 14.091 The phoon is stock apart from a K&N filter.....are these the sorts of times we should be seeing in Queensland in this hotter weather? ....may be time to start some mods.......now where did I put that edit! All in all a great day out. You could actually do a run, come back to the staging lanes and there would only be one car in front of you so there was only a minute or so to wait before your next run. I was only there for an hour yet got 9 runs in.........I love it! Rob.
  19. Could be your ball joints, also tie rod ends can give you the same result. Rob.
  20. Looks like that poll was taken from a Expensive Daewoo forum looking at the FPV % Rob.
  21. Mine went after about 6 months, in a phoon. Apparently the batteries are mass produced and sit on the shelf for some time before being put into our vehicles. All of a sudden they will just go, no cranking amps. May still show 12 volts on a multimeter until you actually crank it. I had it replaced with a better type of battery under warranty by using roadside assistance from FPV (aka RACQ). Hope that helps! Rob.

  23. I use Avid Liquid 7 and that can do it. As mentioned you will still have to anmate this to follow the plate though. Rob.

    Brake Pedal Issue

Could be the gases expelling from the crossdrilled rotors. I get that feeling sometimes too. Feeles like you push the brake, it slips then grabs. This is the only explenation I came up with, let me know how you go. Rob.
